"Peaceful stay"
Pleasant and peaceful stay.Quite isolated. Dinner was quite expensive ...€49. Per person With few other restaurant options any where around. Very quaint area... there were errant sheep wandering in the lawn from a nearby farm. Beautiful view of lake.

"A Secluded Beauty"
This is a very nice, quiet, and secluded fishing lodge that overlooks the lake. We didn't fish this time, but we thought about it. The lodge has many fly rods and nets available for fishermen & women. The view of the lake was beautiful and the meals were elegant and delicious! We even saw three sheep right outside the dining room windows. We would like to return some day!

"Amazing"
We had such a good time here, the location is excellent, there is a lake a walk of 3min in front of the hotel. It has fireplaces in the front room with board games and original furniture, enjoyed every minute of our stay, the food is so good it worth coming for it on its own. If you are looking for a place on this part of Ireland look no more. Its amazing!

"Old fashioned hotel on lake."
older hotel that was too expensive for the overall experience. on site restaurant breakfast was included in rate, and had plenty of selection and quality of food. at checkout they wanted to charge $25 more that I had reserved my room for. the evening dinner was only 1 choice and it was $46 per person, we thought that was too much and went elsewhere.

"Relaxing old world lodge"
This old period hunting lodge was one of the highlights of our visit to Ireland. Our room was like a luxury suite which was located on the first floor overlooking a lovely garden and the lake We ate at the restaurant nightly and really enjoyed what the chef had on offer each evening which proved to be wonderful each time . We had our desert and coffee by the turf fire in the drawing room where we had great conversations with other guests ,and they seemed to enjoy the fabulous atmosphere as much as we did. The service was excellent throughout the lodge and the owners were especially helpful and were happy to have a lovely conversation with all their guests. We highly recommend this lovely lodge in the heart of Connemara and their great hospitality.

"Good value country hotel"
Stopped here for three nights, should have done five. Make sure you get a lake view room. To settle in nicely start your stay with tea and apple tart in the living room. Would have loved coffee making things in the room. Friendly service, although the front desk is often unattended. Generally it has the feeling of an old hunting lodge. Nice art on the walls, and a good selection of books on the neighbourhood.

This is the second time in this hotel and am glad to say that it surpassed any expectation yet again. Arrived to the question "can we get you a cup of tea"!. The place is like being on a desert island for people that want to get away from the everyday distractions of busy life. Can't recommend it high enough and will be back again. My husband and I stayed here for only one night on our anniversary, but wish it were eight! Everything about this hotel is great: the location, the rooms, the service, the meals.....highly recommended. We especially loved the teas by the peat fires in the afternoon. "Beautiful & Friendly"
Hotel is easy to find. Stunning location & classy/ beautiful premises. Staff were so very kind & friendly; they made us feel so at home, that we have missed them all since we left (& we only stayed 2 nights!). We will certainly be returning, as much to revisit the hotel & staff as the location itself. Rooms were all very well appointed & sensitively & intelligently decorated in an original/ authentic traditional way. Food at restaurant was remarkably good/ fantastic.

"very good but not excellent"
food and breakfast was "so so" and not very copious, that was my biggest complain and also the fact that there was no pedestrians footpaths around the hotel so you could enjoy the beautiful surroundings without having to take your car but that should not prevent you (or me) to go there again as it is still a good decent place even if indeed they're is still room for improvements

Dominic and Maura run the Lodge in a very friendly professional manner. It is an old building, so the rooms have a lot of charming character. The lounge has an open fire with comfortable chairs for the evening pre- and post- dinner drinks. Fishermen can access the bar by the rear entrance for lunch. Boats and gillies may be booked through the lodge. The evening meals were excellent fine dining with a full wine list. All four of us had some difficult decisions! A full cooked breakfast is served, including fish choices. The Lodge is well placed for touring around the local area, though it caters for the fishing on Lough Inagh.

"We will return!"
07/25/15 RimboofLondon London
It does rain a lot in Connemara, which puts a great dampener on things outdoors. We spent four nights here in mid-July and, despite the weather, we loved our stay in this most beautiful region. The reason may be solely and fairly ascribed to Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel. The food is outstanding - we had the catch of the day every evening and it was varied but uniformly excellent. The views are to die for - even when low cloud obscures most of them. The rooms are spacious and most comfortable - we loved ours, the Samuel Beckett on the ground floor corner overlooking the lake. The hotel is delightfully comfortable, with lovely, homely public rooms. All of these things, however, are secondary: the real delight is in the warmth of the welcome and the way all the staff continue to maintain that level of attentive, personal care theoughout one's stay. We would have to single out Dominick, of course, and Maire, but everybody seemed to be intent on ensuring that we were having a great time - helping us plan our days, showing where to walk and when, between showers. This is beyond service: it is natural, intuitive and fabulous to be on the receiving end.

"Perfect chill-out, escape from city life and at the heart of unique Connemara National Park"
07/14/15 Steve2006Dublin Dublin, Ireland
This was our third visit and has become an annual four or five days of "getting away from it all" - stressful jobs, kids, city life, health issues, 21st century enslavement to technology, noise, Irish politics, EU and Greek bailouts etc! We stay in the spacious Jonathan Swift suite, waking up to the magnificent views of Lough Inagh lake and the Twelve Bens mountain range. Mobile phones are out of range and WiFI is reliable, but, we did without it, as we did without the TV! The critically acclaimed dining room has been consistently excellent for three years with a lot of superb local produce on the menu, especially fish and McGeough's (Oughterard award winning butcher) meat. Breakfast is superb with the highlights being the fresh fruit salad with Greek yogurt, porridge (with cream!) and the traditional Irish breakfast. Dinner in a superb sun-lit dining room, again with magnificent views, is the highlight of the day with excellent service and banter from Phillip, Daragh and Siobhan, Tomás the bar man is a character and must pull the best pints and make the best hot Irish whiskies in the West. Máire and her brother, Dominic, run a great totally customer friendly hotel and a superb dining room. Highlights this week: the monkfish, the salmon, the beef fillet, McGeough's charcuterie, the lobster, the turbot. The wine list is small, but, excellent. We would finish our wine after dinner in either of the sitting rooms, in front of turf lit fires, and polish off the night with hot whiskies or Guinness. A lot of work goes into making this one of the best hotels in the West of Ireland from what must be a superb kitchen team to Máire and Dominic managing the show and the customer serving team at the bar and in the restaurant. Location is also perfect for exploring the Connemara National Park, beaches, Aran Islands (from Rossaveal), Clifden, Galway, Lough Corrib, Roundstone, Oughterard etc as well as accessing Westport, 30 minutes from Leenane. If relaxation and good food in magnificent Connemara are what you want this is the place. The weather? Who cares? This is Ireland. We have stayed at Ballynahinch Castle Hotel too, but, prefer Lough Inagh Lodge for the personal attention, superb food, relaxed atmosphere and unbeatable location. Talking with other guests, it is also home to one of the best trout and salmon fisheries in the West of Ireland. See you next year guys!

We rode our bikes here from Clifden and spent one night on our way to Delphi. We really enjoyed it. The rooms and bathrooms are great and the dinner was delicious. It's a fishing lodge though we didn't fish. The inn keepers are friendly and helpful.

A few of us had dinner in the bar last weekend, the service & food was excellent. I had the steak which was so tender and cooked to perfection. All others enjoyed their meal too. Well worth the drive there. Food is served all day and dinner is served in the restaurant as well. Can't wait to go back again.

This was our 3rd time staying at Lough Inagh Lodge and every time it just gets better! We love our fly fishing and Inagh is spectacular! Traditional clinker boats, fantastic fishery manager and Sir Johnny as our Gillie We has a fabulous dinner in the bar, I had a beautifully cooked fillet steak with chips and fresh veg, just perfection! the breakfasts were lovely and all credit to Maria and her team for making our stay so special.

We picked this place party due to the location and partly due to the food. We were not disappointed on either account. When the weather sweeps in you will feel you will feel you are held captive in a special warm dry place, and then there is the food. A really good restaurant and an excellent bar, you can eat in either and we did, the bar being my favourite place with both menus and the bonus of various Irish Whiskeys. A good centre for exploring the area too.

We stopped here on our way back to the Renvyle Peninsula. The weather was amazing so we had tea in the beautiful garden overlooking the most incredible landscape. Our waiter Thomas was so kind, and was sweet with our 2 boys (7 & 11). We asked about hiking, and he gave us an informative hiking booklet.

Review Inagh Lodge The people of Inagh Lodge are focused on one thing--the guests. When we arrived, Dominick suggested we have drinks in the front sitting room by the fire (it was a wet cool day even though it was June!) and then gave us dinner menus so we could anticipate the evening to come. He and Maire helped us decide where to go for the best walks, including photocopying guidebooks---and then Maire offered to drop us off at the start and retrieve us at the end! We had a very early departure on our last day; when we went to leave our key at the desk, there was a flask of coffee, fruit and bottles of water for our journey. The property has views of lake and the Bens to die for, including tables in the front garden from which to enjoy them. Our room was large and comfortable and considering the cool weather, it was nice to control the temp in the room (and a heated towel rack!). Food was excellent; breakfast included homemade scones, jams and wonderful smoked salmon. We enjoyed dinner in the pub where the atmosphere was a bit more convivial then the quieter dining room. Loved the duck and Tom the bartender. Having the proprietors around all the time makes such a difference! Thanks Maire and Dominick for a fabulous introduction to Irish hospitality.

Moira and staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The Lodge is well kept, clean, has a great ambience that is enhanced by the carefully chosen decor, art and ornaments throughout the rooms and common areas of the house. The dining room has an excellent view of Lough Inagh, as did our room on the first floor. We stumbled across this delightful place almost by accident but it turned into a high point on our travels through Ireland and Great Britain, we hope to return some day. Thank you Moira Dominic and everyone for an amazing time. For visitors considering the Lough Inagh Lodge: if possible, try to stay here for at least 2 or 3 nights to give yourself time to soak it up and properly unwind - a week would be ideal!
