The hot water heater did not work and they offered to cancel my reservation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had no hot water during the entire stay, apparently the hot water heater broke down. ( why couldn't it be fixed on a Friday ? ) When we arrived Thursday night a billboard said cocktail hour 6 - 8 p.m. We were there at 7 p.m. when we went to the bar, the cleaning people were still cleaning, and the bar was not set up. ( ice, money, etc. )Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel of last resort"
The hotel did not have hot water all weekend! The pool was out of order. One of the front doors is broken. The TV remote was missing batteries. The continental breakfast was a joke. And there is a "club" on the property that was surrounded by police officers on Saturday night. It looks like the hotel owner has given up on this property. It's cheap to […] stay there and once they get the hot water fixed, it will be tolerable, but do yourself a favor and use this one as your motel of last resort. "No hot water for 2 days"
The hotel is older but the rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. When we arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon (5:00pm) we were informed that there was no hot water and that we could cancel without penalty (which was nice) However, the conference we were in town to attend had caused no vacancy anywhere in town-so we were forced to stay-however […] the hotel did offer a half price refund for the inconvience-which was also decent. The next morning we had to leave by 5:30m-but we were assured the problem would be fixed by that afternoon-well we arrived back at 7:00pm to still no hot water! The hallways are shabby and not clean, the public restroom in the lobby was dirty with the trash overflowing-and was not emptied our whole stay-also the pool was not in working order-the outside of the hotel was unsightly(as to landscaping and trash) Too bad-I used to stay at this hotel years ago and it was beautiful then.If we could have found an alternative hotel we definitely would have moved-even though the stay was very inexpensive in the end. Cold baths are not worth cheap! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"mgmt needs to fix up the place"
There was no hot water during the two days I stayed there. Also, the swimming pool was closed. I didn't know about either of this problems until I arrived at the hotel. Disappointing stay.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Why so cheap?"
Let's be honest, you are looking at my review because you saw the price point and you wanted to know if you would get stabbed or if its a bed bug nightmare. And the truth is, it isn't either one of those. I'll get the positives out of the way. The front desk was very friendly. The room was very clean. It's very easily accessible to the downtown area […] and I-80. It comes with a free breakfast too (as long as you like toast, bicuits and gravy or cereal). So why so cheap? Well, when we got there, the boiler was not working. They offered us a 50% refund if we still stayed, and we were only there for two days, and I'm used to cold shower camping, so we stayed. The pool didn't work either. It was one of those rare early May days where the highs were in the 90s, and if you wanted to chill some beer using the ice in the ice machine, you were out of luck. We were able to get about 2 solo cups of ice, then it stopped working. By the way, if anyone ever offers you the half off through hotels.com, know that it doesn't work like that. Hotels.com offers you some kind of coupon for your next visit. Not really the same thing. But what the heck, experiences like this are what vacations are made of. "The Omaha stockyards is cleaner."
Dirty, unkempt, poor maintenance, no hot water, smell of weed in the hall, and on and on. The only reason we stayed is because there were 40,000 visitors in Omaha for a Berkshire Hathaway Stockholders meeting. I am sure Buffet does not own this place.Genuine Expedia guest review
The elevator was out of order, the ice machine on our floor was out of order, there was a light bulb missing from one of the lamps.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Save yourself some trouble...look elsewhere."
Here are the "highlights" of my stay: *Had to call 5 times over the course of an hour to get anyone to answer the phone; when someone finally answered, I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes. I gave up and decided to deal with my question when I arrived. *The first room had a shower that didn't work, so we were moved to one of the suites. That […] was acceptable. *When we called down for another pillow (for the pull-out couch, even though there was supposed to be one in the room) and 2 extra towels, we were told that they didn't have either available. A 2-bed suite with pull-out couch was only equipped with 2 full-size towels at check-in. *We were told that housekeeping could drop off extra towels when they arrived at 6; they were not dropped off. When I went to the front desk to ask for them, I was given 2 pool towels. *While I don't expect a bed spread and blanket to get washed every time, I was disturbed by the amount of hair that was present on them. *The sheets/pillow cases were extremely thread-bare. I was afraid that sitting on the bed would cause them to rip. *Both the elevator and pool were broken. *While the staff was nice, they were either incompetent and/or not given the appropriate resources to staff a hotel. While the rate was reasonable, the quality was very poor. I had stayed in a $35/night motel the night before that was heads above the quality of this place. Save your money and hit the Super 8.... "not so bad"
03/29/14 Christina S Storm Lake, Iowa
was in town for a funeral, was a little skeptical because of some of the reviews but decided to give this place a try. Very surprised. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and the price was right. Loved that it was close to eateries and gas stations, as well as the interstate. The hotel staff is very friendly. I will stay here again if every in Omaha.

stay away, run away.. looks nice from the lobby but downhill fast from there..no greeting from the desk staff, too interested in whatever was on the computer. dark dingy dated disgusting rooms. sink had dirt or something in the sink. holes in the walls that had been badly patched, lampshade all dented and not even attached. outlets and light switches were bad, i did not want to touch anything. we left. bedding dated, ragged.
03/13/14 Martha S Wichita, Kansas
This place was old, dirty, raggy bed spread. Need I say more???? If you want to just sleep here or shower here it may be OK. The breakfast was suppose to be hot. The hot would be toast that you made in the toaster.
"The Conference Center"
10/22/13 Edge M Richland Center, Wisconsin
We had a huge conference in Omaha, Nebraska, 68137. It was a huge success! Thank you to you all that helped put it all together including The Carlisle Hotel staff. The Carlisle Hotel's conference center itself is great! It is very roomy. There was no need to push, because there is more than enough openness for everyone to mingle about. I love the surrounding area where this hotel is located because it is close and convenient to everything the city of Omaha has to offer. Our hotel stay was 5 nights. Our guest rooms were nice enough, also!
"A Convenient Location"
10/09/13 Paul B Lafayette, Louisiana
The convenient location has quick access to the interstate. For able guests, there are gas stations, eateries and restaurants, plus, a local grocery store named Bag N Save, are all within walking distance! The Carlisle Hotel decor is dated by at least 30 years. However, my guest room, the indoor heated pool, and the staff, I personally rate 5 stars. You will receive the lowest nightly rate of any hotel! Reserve online at hotels.com. Yes, I will stay here again
"The cockroach was enough!!"

This place is just down right nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!! I traveled with my husband, mother in law and her foster kids, all under the age of 12. I called two weeks in advance to reserve our rooms so they would be joining. Well as soon as we got there we had problems. Our rooms weren't even available although I reserved them two weeks in advance!! They tried to give us rooms on separate floors, but we didn't want that. We wanted to be closer together because my husband was the only man traveling with us so he wanted to watch over both rooms. So they gave us rooms on the same floor, but down the hall from each other which wasn't so bad. But when we got into our rooms, we were not happy. My mother in laws room smelled terrible!!!! It smelled like mildew, gag!! And our room, ugh where do I even begin!? We had our 11 month old son with us, so we needed a room with a refrigerator, well that wasn't even plugged in, it was new, so there were still plastic pieces and tape all over the inside of it, so we had to take all of it out, then we had to pull it out away from the wall to plug it in, eww there were bugs everywhere under the refrigerator. Didn't know what kind of bugs they were, none of them looked harmful so we didn't think anything of it as long as they stayed under the fridge. After getting that all done and settling in, we had fruit flies flying all over in our faces, we also saw a spider come down from the ceiling in the bar area. But it was already midnight and my in laws were already asleep in bed, so we couldn't really leave. We also found drug paraphernalia sticking out of our phone....weird. The dust was horrible, the blankets were put on the bed the wrong way, and who knows when the last time those sheets were even washed and changed....ugh. The room itself was so nasty and dingy. The carpets were supposed to be green, but looked black, the wallpaper was old and outdated. He lighting was horrible, the room was just dark, dingy and depressing. The next day we went for breakfast, the sign says its until 9, but it really ended at 8, it was a box of cereal and some toast when they said deluxe continental breakfast....once breakfast was over, my mother in law says, its time to check out, I just killed a cockroach crawling on the wall RIGHT NEXT to our bed!!!! So we got a full refund, even though the lady denied everything we said, she said she had never had problems like this before, haha yeah go read the reviews, they are all like this, people checking out the next day!!! The whole reason we stayed there is because if you go to the website, the pictures and website make it look like it is a beautiful place to stay for a great price with a pool. Ha yeah the pool, that is a whole other story. We read old reviews online about this dump, they said the pool was closed due to repairs for the last three years, well when we got there, the pool was fixed, but they kept it locked because they had problems with people sneaking in....well we didn't even want to check out the pool after that and with everything else we experienced. We didn't even want to risk it. They probably don't keep up on cleaning the pool or the chemicals and who knows what kind of nastiness could be floating around in there. Never again will we stay there and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry it is such a long review, but it needs to be known that this place is down right dirty and disgusting!!!!! It needs to be shut down!!!! We went to the Super 8 next door, and compared to the Carlisle, it was a 10 star!!!

Only thing good I have to say about this place is thr grl at the desk was sweet and the rooms were clean.however theres trash puled 6 foot high at all the exists.Theres beer cams and cigarettes in the hall ways. The pool dosent work and from other feed back ive read it hasnt in years, butwhen i questioned about why advertise theres a pool she says we are waiting for it get inspected for years now..This place woont pass any state regulation inspections. Its fa pp se advertisement on the internet and good luck on the breakfast guest were passing around a jug of Sunny D..Very unkept jalls, yard and parking lot..

There are not enough words to explain how horrible this hotel is. I guess we got our first clue when we pulled up to the hotel and saw a gaggle of sketchy looking men in the front milling around the door. And since I'm not Blanche Devereaux from the Golden girls, the sight of that did not appeal to me. Once we got inside, we immediately noticed the place is completely rundown. All of the furnishings and color selections look like they came straight from a 70s porn set. In addition, the hotel seems to have a considerable transient population. There are people milling about in the halls with no shirt or shoes on, as if they LIVE there. Very odd and I wasn't expecting that. At one point during our stay, I was seriously eyeing the Motel 6 across the street. This hotel would be worth the price ... if that price were $20 a night! Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the hotels within eye shot of this place. Trust me!
