When choosing a place to stay I normally review the photos I find on the web. The photos I found for this Hampton appear to be bit dated and the facility is older than depicted by the photos. None the less, nice place to stay and the staff is excellent. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

I cannot rave about the staff at this hotel enough. Everyone, I mean everyone, was extremely nice. Each staff member went out of his/her way to accommodate guests. From check in to check out, we were pleased with the service we received. We will be returning next year and plan to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel was conveniently located. Service was good (breakfast and staff). Overall end result was not great. This hotel has smoking rooms on the 4th floor. With no warning, by Hotels.com or Hampton front desk, we were placed on that floor. The smell was HORRIBLE. I asked to be moved to another floor. We were moved, but on the second night due to a full hotel. We booked on a guaranteed price so moving hotels was not an option. Hampton did give a gift certificate for another nights stay... but at the same hotel... LOL.

It was near the freeway making it very noisy at night. The lack of counter space in the bathroom. We placed several items below in the open vanity.

When booking I specifically asked for a particular type of room appointment and the email confirmation stated my needs. BUT, upon check-in at the hotel apparently none of that had been seen by the staff appointing the rooms. After apprx. 20 minutes of looking for/juggling things around, we finally were able to go to a room that was "similar" to what I had originally booked for. Word to the wise: Book online for what you want, THEN personally call the specific hotel to inform and confirm with them what you've requested and when!! (Btw, the staff person, Janice, was SUPER correcting this for us. THANKS, Janice!!)

The room was "worn out". Needs paint, fixing up, etc. The breakfast was good but there was no staff anywhere in site to keep things cleaned up. The trash was overflowing, the tables were dirty, etc. I'll stay someplace else next time.

This Hampton Inn is a gem. Conveniently located to Oregon City and Estacada, it has nice rooms, wifi, exercise facilities, and a spa, with a great continental breakfast. The staff were very helpful. They let us use the refrigerator and microwave in the breakfast room for Thanksgiving leftovers.

Very clean, friendly helpful staff, loved the bedding especially the duvet cover....all hotels should use them. And the cube shelving mounted to the wall in the bathroom provided an attractive yet practical place to store the extra towels.

For a last minute unprepared stop it worked. Carpets had just been cleaned and were wet causing the room to be very humid and smelly. Had it not been 9:00 pm when we got there I would have looked elsewhere.

In general the hotel was good. It is in an "awkward" area during commute time, lots of traffic. Our room had a window style a/c which was really noisy, probably time to replace it...fortunately, we can sleep thru noise. When I booked thru Hotels.com I booked a King. When we got there, a king was only availiable for 1 nite, so we had to take a queen. Of course, hotel blames it on internet booking.....says you have to take it up with them, even though you have a "confirmation" for a king. Front desk said they tried to accomadate, but only had it for 1 nite, not 2. From what I saw in that area, yes, I would recommend. Was clean & seemed to be in a safe area.

Hotel had a very funny smell, best described by musty. Carpets were stained. Bathrooms were cramped and not properly cleaned. Freeway could be heard even with windows closed. Staff on the other was friendly and allowed a late checkout. Elevators we slow as well. Breakfast was warm and well stocked.

The location was perfect in that it was ten minutes from our daughter's house. We were in Portland to visit her. We stayed 8 nights. One day our room was completely missed for housekeeping. When my husband took our pile of dirty towels to the front desk at 10 pm that night and told the clerk, the reply was, "Oh, I'll have someone bring up some clean towels for you." There was no apology, no attempt to go above and beyond to make up for their mistake. The room was small. I had to move some furniture in order to have enough room to work out to my yoga dvd, which I had to play on my laptop because the TV had no dvd function. There was NO refrigerator, NO microwave, and NO safe. This was very inconvenient for us since we were staying so long. All the rooms on the hall were marked 'no smoking', however there was a heavy smell of smoke in the hallway every day. Because of the great proximity to our daughter's house and the fact that we didn't spend much time in the room, we would probably stay there again, if we couldn't find something better in the vicinity that was comparable in price.

We have generally been satisfied with Hampton in the past, but this visit was different. The room had way too much furniture for its size. The crowding was so bad that the bed was downsized from the PROMISED Queen to a Double;a little tough for a 6-4 & 5-10 couple. (yes, I measured it - 54 x 76). The bed downsizing was probably necessary to allow the overstuffed chair and ottoman to be jammed in between the bed and the wall - literally blocking my ability to get into bed from my side!. In addition to the bed, large chair & ottoman, there was a desk, desk chair, wardrobe closet, dresser & luggage carrier. All this would be wonderful for a larger room. The 4th floor corridor had a strong cigarette smell at the time we turned in - even though the doors had no-smoking symbols on them. Fortunately, the smell did not affect the room air. In the morning the same corridor had a very strong sweet smell covering up the smoke smell. Maybe this was a one-time problem that the staff was trying to remedy. In any case, the room was clean and would have been fine without the clutter. As a possible defense for Hampton, every hotel was booked up for miles around and they were probably under a lot of pressure to find rooms. Even so, the less desirable rooms should not go to those of us with longstanding reservations. And there's no good excuse I can think of for promising a queen and delivering a double.

The room was good. Very tiny, soft bed pillows. the desk chair was tilting, almost unusable, and we needed to use the desk, I did tell staff about the chair when we left. It was full the weekend we were there. Freeway noise on the west side very loud, even over the air conditioning. I'd try for the east side next time. but for us, location location location.

Traffic noise from highway was awful, couldn't sleep. Walls are thin, headboards to beds are loose and creak with every movement. Bed was comfortable otherwise. I will not be staying there nor referring this hotel for further hotel stay.

Everything about our stay was great w/one minor exception. The staff were friendly a d helpful, everything g was clean and well maintained, the breakfast was plentiful and good, great access to the highway both directions. The only thing that keeps me from posting all stars was not being able to use the beautiful hot tub. This was the reason we booked this place over another hotel another exit away. It was Mother's Day weekend and wanted to relax in the hot tub. My husband and I head done to the tub early on Sunday morning only to find an out of order for maintenance sign on the door. Really put a damper on the start of my Mother's Day.

Very friendly front desk staff; great selection for breakfast with coffee even for us NW coffee snobs acceptable; has a hot tub which was unfortunately overloaded with ladies coming to a Mary Kay convention. Despite many groups of cheerleaders etc., the hotel was very quiet. Disappointed there was no fridge in the room, otherwise very comfortable bed and easy chair. Small bathroom with high quality bath products. Would definitely stay here again.
