Make sure that you take all of your valuables with you when you leave. I stayed for two nights because I was there on business and no other hotels had vacancies. I left for work and when I came back later in the day my key didn't work. I went to the front desk and they had given my room away to someone else even though I had paid for two nights. Thankfully […] I had taken everything with me or I'm sure it would have been gone. They also do not provide towels and the Internet only worked in the lobby itself. I was afraid to even eat the breakfast but luckily there are fast food places nearby. They are in the middle of converting this place to a budget suites type of place where you furnish your own items and its nothing like any ramada I've ever been to. First the owners are not honest. The hotel is not North Villa Inn. It is an old Ramada. The air conditioner in the room stopped working after 30 minutes. Internet did not work. room was uncomfortable, ac unit was very loud, you can here people in the next room talking. Bed was small, bathroom is cramped. Small tv with limited viewing area / channels or remote. No coffee cups, or water cups in the room. This is a motel not a hotel by any means. No ice makers on the property work. The blinds are open on rooms and you can see […] they have not changed the sheets or cleaned until they get around to it. The exterior lighting is poor, smoke detectors and fire extinuighsers have been removed (great for safety!). There are other rooms on the property that have missing door handles and open access from the outside. All of this shows a clear lack of maintence and attention to detail. I stayed here previoulsy years ago when the property was owned by Holiday Inn and at the time may have been a 3 out of 5 stars. This was a very nice hotel in the 70s. It's old but clean for the most part and still a good deal for the money. Unfortunately, it has staff issues. I was pleasantly surprised and quite impressed with my overall experience at Ramada N. Houston. Based on what we expect, I'm not sure my stay could have been any better. The location […] was a bit farther from my destination than preferred but access to 45 was ideal and some wonderful restaurants were only blocks away. The only negative was related to an outside vendor who provided one of the worst tasting pizzas I have ever eaten and I now believe it was related to the water supply in Houston which was almost certainly used to make the pizza dough. I saw varied reviews about this hotel prior to my booking but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived...I stayed for one week...The room was nice, except for the chair provided at the desk (it was so-so)...But I didn't have any of the problems that others experienced that I read about in other reviews...The staff was great, housekeeping was wonderful, […] the room was comfortable, 4 pillows provided for the bed (although the blanket was a little heavy), the A/C (a must in Houston!!) worked fine and the thermostat was controlled in the room by me, the neighborhood was clean and safe and tons of shopping was located within a 5-10 minute drive (2 Wal-Marts, Office Depot, banks, cell phone providers, numerous restaurants, etc.)...I'd have no problem recommending this hotel to anybody for a cheap comfortable stay...I think they had breakfast provided for free but I never took advantage of it...USA Today newspaper was provided free everyday for guests (with plenty of copies available every day)...The one bad thing I'd say about the experience was the lack of a good cable provider...There weren't many channels on the TV, but unless you're spending most of the day at the hotel that shouldn't be a factor for most people... This hotel seemed to be a party location where locals hung out and seemed to host a variety of not so safe activities. We were looking for a inexpensive, but clean hotel and the Ramada came through for us. The room was a littler better than a Motel 6, the bedding was clean and fresh smelling. A nice pool for swimming. You'll want to request a room facing the pool to avoid Freeway noise.
