"Inexpensive hotel, great location, wonderful staff"
Only complaint, and it's minor, is the safe in the room didn't work, and they were unable to fix it during my 6 night stay. Staff extremely accomodating and friendly. Complementary glass of wine each evening was a nice way to end the day. Small courtyard behind lobby very calming. Attached Vietnamese restaurant had interesting/nice food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay before cruise!"
Excellent stay. Front desk very helpful in recommending where to eat. Just what we needed after a long overseas flight.Genuine Expedia guest review
In the future I will avoid hotels of this nature that promote themselves as "quaint" or "retro". My bathroom was disgusting upon arrival, and still dirty after a cleaning request. Sheets had hair on them and the duvet was stained, along with the "retro" chair. Rooms on the inside part of the hotel overlook the restaurant attached to the hotel, which […] was loud. Very easy to see into rooms of other guests, necessitating closed curtains, which also became uncomfortable due to no air conditioning. Hair dryer in bathroom did not work. Shower caused water to spill out onto bathroom floor. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Danish retro design but showing age"
Fabulous old Danish design. Wonderful library. Great art on walls. Sophisticated taste. But you know that it will be noisy when they supply ear plugs for you. Also, it seemed a little run down with small bathrooms. The staff was very helpfulGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel"
Great location, nice comfortable room and wonderful staff. Breakfast is very good too.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotels...gay friendly !"
Great location, walking distance from the main train station. Very near City Hall. The staff was very friendly, the room very clean and quiet. I loved this hotel!! It is a walking distance to gay barsGenuine Expedia guest review
Loved the Hotel & would stay again. Location was awesome, we walked everywhere. As with previous comments, we choose bakeries in the area for breakfast over hotel breakfast. Our only complaint is something that comes with the area...a room on the first floor on the noisy street, buses, cars & sirens. I would request a room on a higher floor or facing […] the side street or courtyard next stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for couples"
Hotel was very clean and close to where we wanted to be. The staff was very freindly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is very conveniently located near the train station, Tivoli Gardens, and the major tourist sites of Copenhagen, which is what we were looking for. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequate, with furniture meant to illustrate Danish design, but the room I stayed in was small and basically a place to sleep. However, it […] was clean. Although facing the street, the windows were doubled and noise was not an issue. Basically, if you're looking for an excellent location and just a place to sleep at a good price for Copenhagen, this works well. Excellent selection of restaurants in the immediate neighborhood is also a big plus. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rooms need better maintenance"
The chair in the room had a broken armrest and the carpet had seen many better days (it could have been spruced up with a cleaning).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good and pleasant one day stay. Reception staff friendly and competent. Don't come early or you won't be given a room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient Place to Stay"
The hotel is a short walk to the train and Storget Street, the main shopping area in Copenhagen. It is located on a busy street and if traffic noise bothers you, ask for a room that is not in the front of the hotel. There is a patio in back to enjoy meals from the attached Vietnamese restaurant or just a glass of wine at the end of the day. The hotel […] has a "green" program to save energy. You can opt to not have maid service in exchange for a voucher to the restaurant. There was always a carafe of water and a bowl of fresh fruit in the lobby; occasionally there were small Danish pastries and coffee. The staff was pleasant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good price for Copenhagen, centrally located, very green hotel - no air conditioning - and a great deal of street noise. Clean and comfortable. Very, very helpful front desk staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, great location, affortable price!"
My wife and I went in a cruise and stayed one day in the city in this hotel, we took a train instead of a taxi (quite expensive) and the train was good and cheap, the station is like 4 blocks from the hotel so just walk and you will be in minutes. Around the hotel there are some convinience stores like 7eleven, so you can have drinks and snacks there […] instead of the high hotel prices. A few blocks are the Tivoli Park (like retro theme park), museums, shops, parks, Central station, like 15min to airport in train, etc. I would say if you like to travel and know a city this hotel let you enjoy this wonderful city by any transport or walk. The hotel is fine, confortable bed, my window had street view and the noise was isolated by 2 windows so forget you have a main street on a side. Some people complains about the AC but just open the windows and use a fan provided in the room and voila! The size is ok, (want more space? go to a expensive chain hotel) I strongly recomend this hotel and to be honest is just for the night cause anyone who really like and know how to travel will not waste time in a room having an spectacular city!. "best for the price"
conveniently located, near all transportation, great front desk persons, outstanding full buffet breakfast incl. however, the rooms are quite small.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent Hotel Stay for One Night"
This room was decent for a one night stay. The room is very small when compared to U.S standards. Taxi ride cost 276 krona each way; very expensive. The location was downtown and it was fun to walk around downtown Copenhagen.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value, service and location"
I just spent four nights at the Hotel Alexandra and found it to be an excellent value. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While the rooms are small they are comfortable, have very nice bathrooms and the house cleaning was outstanding. It is in an excellent location being only a few blocks from Stroget Street and Tivoli. Everything I wanted to […] see was within walking distance. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Copenhagen. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Unique Hotel with Danish furnishings"
Only stayed one night, in a standard room. On 5th floor. Very quiet. Considering that it is OLD, you need to understand the size of the bathroom, TINY but serviceable. The shower was hot and powerful. The beds were comfortable. Unique Danish furniture makes it interesting. No included Breakfast with our stay so the price was quite high.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ovepriced and sad"
Our stay in Copenhagen would have been a disaster had we not been able to upgrade our room. The room we purchased from your website was miniscule and the hotel has no services, one could not even call the front desk from one's room to order a towel! In researching other hotels in the area, we found much better value and far better accomodations at a […] better price. Moral of the story, if you buy a hotel oom on line, you better be familiar with it first! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Alexandra - comfortable and close to attract"
This hotel is super cute, conveniently located, and was comfortable for my weekend stay. It's just a few blocks from Tivoli, the Glyptotek art museum and Danish Design Center. Stroget, shopping, and many historical sites are also easily within walking distance and so are the metro and busses. The hotel has bikes for rent but I didn't have time to use […] one. The breakfast spread was nice and I was glad to have the option, especially on Sunday when no place else was open in the morning. I would definitely stay here again were I to visit Copenhagen in the future. The only (very small) criticism I had were that I felt like the toilet bowl hadn't been scrubbed inside in a while, and the shower curtain kept sticking to me due to the small shower size. However, the fantastic shower head and water flow more than made up for the draft! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming hotel in great location"
Charming hotel in great and central location. Nice design of the rooms and friendly staff. Even though the hotel was located at a big street, the room was not noisy. Definetly a recommendation!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Central location, noisy at night"
The hotel is very centrally located for tourist spots and transportation links. Our twin room faced the main road so was very noisy at night. However, we will use it again just for its prime location and the 'voucher' for opt out of cleaning to be spent at its Viet cafeteria...it helped lower cost of meals because Copenhagen is very expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This charming Hotel with an intimate atmosphere was in a great location. The wonderful friendly staff were so helpful nothing any trouble to them . I rate this hotel highly and thank the staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Art Deco Nice"
This was a very cozy boutique hotel appointed nicely in an Art Deco theme. The reception area is attractive with a nice atmosphere created by comfortable furniture and stylish music. The staff was personable and always helpful. Our room was a courtyard room that was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is on a busy street and rooms facing the street may […] be noisy; A nice touch was the option of being green by reusing towels. Yes, other hotels encourage this, but this one went one step further and gave us cash vouchers for this option to be used at their attached restaurant (food very tasty!). This hotel would get a 5 from us in all categories if they would update the fixtures in the bathroom and include a breakfast. This would not rob the hotel of any of its charm by making these types of upgrades. Hotel is conveniently located to Tivoli Gardens, major tourist areas and the train station. This was an oustanding boutique hotel that we can recommend without reservation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Really lovely hotel, we had a luxury room which was fantastic, loads of space and really comfortable. Great service from the staff and loved the designer style of the furnishings. Good location, close to plenty of bars and cafés and close to the main shopping area. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, if you know what to expect"
We booked this hotel to give us extra time in Copenhagen after the end of a cruise and overall were pleased. It's location is convenient - a 5 or 10 minute walk from most of the attractions in the city and the staff were excellent. They all spoke perfect English and couldn't have been more helpful. It makes a feature of showcasing some design pieces […] which won't be to everyone's taste and the room we were in comfortable but not large. We had a speciifically asked for a bath and there was one, but it was tiny (as some continental baths are) and the reception staff took a while to find a plug that fitted. There was some noise at nights from the main road and the club a few doors down, but it didn't spoil our stay. Overall we were pleased with our stay and I am happy to recommend it. "Great location but trade off between noise or temp"
Nice size, decor and bathroom facilities in a hotel well situated in downtown Copenhagen. We were not right on H C Andersen, but just to the side. Even so, with the windows open it was very noisy and with them closed it was very warm - and this was in mid June. Nice option of forgoing maid service and receiving a resaurant voucher in return.Genuine Expedia guest review
Convenient location for guests arriving by train. Effective staff. Efficient operation. Room cluttered with chairs conforming to retro stylistic ambitions - clear space preferred. Rock band across the road killed "quiet room" request.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, terrible manager"
Liked the art deco feel of the hotel and proximity to downtown attractions such as Tivoli gardens. All was mitigated by the cold manager at the front desk. Completely turned off by this guy!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Central, funky little hotel"
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent, providing great restaurant suggestions, booking taxis and ensuring that I was happy with my room. My room was small but the local Danish design decor was interesting and made the place feel a bit different from a normal hotel. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A convenient, welcoming hotel"
Central for galleries, museums etc. Ideal for trains to other destinations within the region and into Sweden. Useful cafe adjoining hotel and other sound restaurants within easy reach. Interesting hotel. Nice to be in one which is privately owned, modest, immaculately clean and has a history in the world of Danish furniture design. The staff on reception […] desk very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is a member of a green conservation group aimed at minimising waste. This does not intrude on ones comfort. Altogether a thoughtful and satisfying stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. We requested a quiet room, we didn't have to remind them of this, they made a point of saying they'd put us in a quiet room. We would recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location and spotless"
I'm quite a hard person to please when it comes to staying away from home, but with this hotel I really can't think of anything that I would change. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms spotless, the furnishings were 1950s and had such character, the staff were endlessly helpful 24 hours a day and the location is perfect. Don't worry one bit about […] it being on the main street in central Copenhagen, the soundproof windows are AMAZING and it is a quiet city anyway with most people travelling by bike rather than car. You are about 100m from Tivoli Gardens. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel in the city center"
The hotel was right in the city center and only a 10 minute walk from copenhagen central station, so getting a train from the airport was very simple and cheap. Use google maps and you can't go wrong. The hotel is a tidy 3 star, it's clean and has comfy beds. The free wifi wasn't very fast and kept dropping out a lot. But it was better than nothing. We […] stayed in room 447 and it was ok but looked nothing like the pictures and seemed a bit old. We were facing the road and the double glazing kept the road noise out well. We had a problem on our third morning when we were woken up suddenly before 8am with a very loud whooshing and bubbling noise coming from the room next door. We couldn't work out what it was and when we felt the wall it was vibrating. We didn't like this so went down to reception to be told it must be the jacuzzi in the suite next door. We asked the woman on reception to come and see how loud it was it it was ridiculous, especially as we wanted a lie in. Apparently it's the only jacuzzi in the hotel. Luckily she gave us the keys to room 446 next door so we could move. This room was much nicer and looked like the pictures. Most staff were quite friendly and helpful. All in all a good hotel for the location and I would recommend as long as you don't expect a 5 star. Main point is to avoid room 447! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful location, fabulous Danish-style furnitur"
The most wonderful place to stay if you want to explore the centre of Copenhagen! Tivoli is on your doorstep, Nyhavn only a 10-15 minute walk away, wonderful Rosenborg castle nearby and amazing breakfast bakeries nearby. Fabulous large comfortable bed - very restful. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its location! Enjoy!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a great stay at the Hotel Alexandra, it is a really well designed hotel and the attention to detail in the furnishings is brilliant. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located to easily walk to some of the places I wanted to visit on my trip. The only problem was it was quite noisy as my room was on the front of the […] hotel (I must admit after a 4am start I still slept though but if there for more than one night I probably would have said something). I did read a sign in the morning about how to improve sound proofing so possibly would have been better if I had looked into more. Overall though everything else in the hotel was great and in particular I thought the "look" and the helpfulness of staff really made my stay and would recommend to other people. "Comfortable hotel close to the Central Railway"
The Alexandra Hotel is a short walk - about 10 min - from the Copenhagen Central Railway Station. Check-in was really friendly and the room surprisingly spacious (for Europe) and very comfortable. The room still had a faint smell of new paint which was not a problem but indicated it's fresh refurbishment. There is an Asian style restaurant downstairs […] as part of the hotel and there is also plenty of choice for other places to eat very close by. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Lovely staff and welcoming hotel. Decor was as it said it would be, very stylish and the bedroom couldn't have been any nicer; spacious room, comfy beds and the new decor made this a great overall experience. Only downside would have wanted a cafetiere in the room and hair dryer was a bit faulty, but would recommend others to stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"cosy and friendly hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Alexandra, a very warm welcome from all staff (including a welcome drink) and a cosy retro interior. Close to Tivoli, central station and shopping areas. Loved the in house Vietnamese cafe ( and the vouchers you can obtain for use in the cafe by being 'green' and not having your room cleaned every day). The only improvements […] we would want would be a more comfortable bed and better coffee at breakfast. We will visit again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Retro Hotel with a great location."
The Alexandra is close to the railway station and situated on one if the main areas of Copenhagen. Convenient for almost everything that you might want to see, visit etc. The staff were welcoming and friendly and spoke excellent English. Given our lack of Danish ....an absolute bonus, They were so helpful and happily checked out information for us. Our […] room was small but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The restaurant next door had lively food and a nice buzz in the evenings. Although situated on a busy road, noise was never an issue given the soundproofed windows. Will return and highly recommend.
