First some cons: the room was a little bit smaller than expected. It was a challenge to deal with 2 suitcases for 2 people. Their advertised heating floor was actually only half heated around the batch tub leaving half of the floor cold. There is only a curtain separating a room from a bath tub. Only half of the bathtub is surrounded by glass walls, leaving half of the bath tub open that caused some water leakage on the floor when shower is taken. On another hand the hotel location is great, and really close (max walking distance 20 min) to many sightseeing attractions. The included breakfast is also very good, offers a lot of varieties to satisfy different tastes. Overall I would recommend this hotel for staying in Berlin, and most likely will consider it for next time stay. Not negative nor positive things to know: a room is not equipped with iron/iron board or coffee maker.

1. Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz occupies a pre-reunification high-rise hotel. The rooms are VERY SMALL, and have a worn, eastern bloc feel, despite 4-star status. On entering the room, we noted a sewer-y smell in the bathroom, sufficient to request a room change. 2. Reception desk is understaffed for the number of guests, therefore always a queue to wait on. Same for concierge. 3. Alexanderplatz is busy but far from scenic, frankly couldn't see why it is recommended as a base of operations. What I'm really trying to say is this: this hotel is merely adequate, in a lackluster way. While it is true that the high floors provide a view, this doesn't justify a 4-star price, and I would recommend instead a hotel in the West Berlin part of town. If you do stay in the East, choose a hotel constructed post-reunification, the more recent the better.

Nice enough hotel, bathroom is definatley designed for Single people. Myself and partner had problems sleeping on the bed, although they supplied extra pillows when asked. Did not try the breakfast, your in walking distance of everything so no need. Have to agree with other people, you had to wait 10-15 minutes to check in, which is a shame because they just need a few more people on reception. For the price and location its worth it all, would stay there again but maybe only for a short stay. Hint, get the RED Airport express train, dont take directions from train staff 5 times they told us the wrong platform/train. You can also jump off the hotel for a price :P good to watch but didnt try it.

Overall not a bad hotel - a somewhat smallish room, the size of which precludes a traditional separate bathroom (it wasn't tiny, just not big enough for a separate bathroom). The room is therefore somewhat spoiled by the ensuite arrangements - separate but adjacent toilet and shower cubicles of semi frosted glass each with an open top, a handbasin in the room itself. Thus if you use the toilet in the middle of the night you have no choice but to turn on the room lights thereby disturbing whoever you're sharing a room with..The ground floor lounge bar is quite nice but rather boring - not that many people used it whilst I was there.Prices are reasonable (€3.50 for 0.4 litre Pilsener on draught) considering that you're a fairly captive audience; the wide screen tv was on but without sound The help yourself, all you can eat, buffet breakfast in the large second floor Humboldt restaurant was €18 (about £15.60) per person - the selection was good - hot and cold items, fruit, cereals, breads, etc - pretty much everything you would expect to find - and are proper chefs on hand front of house to cater for special requests - including toast. Everything was in a good state of repair and clean - reception, public spaces, lifts and rooms. At the time of my stay there was some noise of jack hammers from the construction site next door, starting around 8 a.m. weekdays

This hotel is lovely by all means, clean, modern, with plenty of staff to help you out. But when we arrived, we were totally confused to see our supposed 'bathroom'- which was part of the room, and only concealable by a curtain on a rail. The toilet also had frosted glass for 'walls'. Unless your a couple, or have no particular issues with privacy, this wont bother you. When we complained, the guy at the reception was sononchalant , and didn't understand our frustration. However, they offered us another room- it was bigger but slightly worse in comparison- the bathroom was all one unit, but was only concealed via again, frosted glass and clear glass. Basically you would see everything that person was doing. If privacy is no big deal for you, this hotel will be fine, but if like a lot of people, you like your bathroom to have four proper walls and a door, well you might want to reconsider your choice! Hotels.com were very helpful over the phone, but it was too late in the day to change our booking. On a positive note, we had a great time in Berlin! and the location of the Park Inn is so good. Otherwise, it was just the bizarre bathroom situation that totally took us off guard, it reminded me of a hostel to be honest. Clearly at some point during building someone suggested they use thin floating partition glass walls instead of ordinary walls to save a few quid and they all thought it was a great idea!!

We were in a group of 14 and this was the same problem for all of the other travellers in our party. The room was well appointed and clean but who ever suggested the see through bathroom walls needs a re-think. Even if I was with my partner, I would not wish to see her sitting on the toilet. Did not try breakfast however service in the Spagos bar for dinner was slow and servers were uninterested. I would however recommend this hotel to others due to it's great location

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout and every effort was made to make sure my stay was as pleasant as possible. I know not everyone is impressed by the open bathroom arrangement in the bedrooms but as a solo traveller that didn't concern me at all. Judging by the amount of people that were constantly arriving at the hotel it must be one of the most popular places in Berlin. If I had to make one complaint it would be about the three-euro charge to use the top-floor observation area. I think it should be free for guests. Nevertheless I had a great stay here and will definitely stay here again when I return to Berlin, which I will as it's a great place.

Staying at the Park Inn is by no means a terrible experience, but there are definitely some problems. The hotel charges €25 to check-in before 2pm. Internet costs €18/day. "Business Class" rooms are small and lack expected business class amenities such as complimentary bottled water and hair conditioner. Last but not least, rooms at this hotel do not have A/C. They have a "climate control system," which doesn't do a whole lot to cool the room or provide air flow. In winter this wouldn't matter much but if it's any other time of year, this should be a factor you consider before booking a room.

HOWEVER, I had to pay about 32 euros to use wi-fi in my room. That is ridiculously expensive. I had to use it for my work though, and wouldn't have minded if not for their malfunctioning printer system. The system is supposed to channel your documents to a printer at the front desk. After completing my work I went down to get my docs, only to be told the system is broken, but that they PROMISE it will be fixed the next day. When checking out I went to retrieve the docs and the machine WAS STILL BROKEN! What's worse, is nobody had even attempted to fix it. I needed those docs! So I had paid 32 euros to work on something I was not able to use!!!!

The Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz is centrally located to a major Berlin transportation hub. It is one of the taller buildings in the former east Berlin, so make sure to ask for a room on a high floor facing the city, west, and visit the small rooftop terrace on the 39th floor for more great views. The rooms are small and the immediate surroundings are not great, but given the proximity to trains, trams and buses, and the relative value, this is a very good hotel.

Alt man trenger for 4 dager i Berlin.
