"Reasonably priced considering the location."
The Inn is a bit worn out. But it is reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will recommend it if one is looking for an affordable place near the Capitol. The card scanner to open the lobby door on the third floor is buggy. In my two-day stay, I have to go to the front desk two times for the key card to be re-programmed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Find another hotel..."
I selected this hotel for its proximity to the conference I was attending - if there had been another I would have changed. The condition of the room was very poor, beds uncomfortable, few amenities, and the bathroom was nearly unusable - mold everywhere in the shower/tub. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, that is the only nice thing I can […] write. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dirty motel with great location."
The location is great, the Motel, is barebones. If saving $150 a night is your priority or if there are no other options this will suffice. Do not bring a sognifcant other here. They will think less of you. Perfectly acceptable for a group of dudes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would stay here again."
Hotel is in a good area to walk to Capitol or 6th street. Somehow we got a handicap room (#133) was on ground floor. We parked 50 feet from the door even though we had to pay the valet service. Breakfast was good. The entire staff was friendly and happy to answer any questions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location, Friendly Staff, but..."
THE GOOD: Easy access to I35, quick trip to the airport, next door to the Capitol and a short walk downhill to 6th Street makes this an EXCELLENT LOCATION. The Bed and pillows were great! The staff was very helpful and friendly. (Thanks again for the late check out)! THE BAD: It's time for this hotel to get a makeover! At nearly $300 a night, you shouldn't […] have to pay that much for paper-thin walls... (and towels)!! The hallways smelled old, musty (the hallway ceilings are barely 6' tall). The outside of the TUB was dirty and stained and we had no soap in the room. There was a thermostat on the wall but it didn't seem to do anything. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Basic at the very best. Management allows partying and excessive noise to go on throughout all hours of the night. Even though they have signage posted regarding quiet hours, they do not enforce. The roome were clean but I would advise to look elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"La Quinta blues"
Upon arrival I was told that my room was changed from non-smoking to smoking. They seemed to not care about this issue. Of course the room had the odor of cigarette smoke and was dingy. They finally changed my room late the next day. It was an improvement over the first room. During the second day the hotel was without water service which was a bit […] inconvenient(not the hotel's fault). The rooms have thin walls so you can expect to hear your neighbors throughout the night. Overall I would pass on this hotel if I visit Austin again. There are others in the area that comparably priced and nicer. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN."
Hotel has Vallet Parking only which I was not informed of by Hotels.com or La Quinta in advance. If you do not use the vallet parking, there is NO WHERE to park so this is actually a hiden cost of the Hotel! We had a HUGE cockroach in our room that was very much alive! I left it lying dead in the room and informed the front desk who told me they were […] sorry. I did not pay $300.00 for one night at this Hotel to chase cockroaches. I will not stay there again and feel I wasted my money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good experience, Debit card charged twice"
Clean odorless room. Friendly staff. Checkout is early, at 11am. I booked through hotels.com with a debit card and was charged through the site and at the front desk. The second charge, of over $100, stayed on my debit card for a week before it "cleared". Be weary of booking with a debit card.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent stay, clean room and very comfortable. A great value and Terrific service. I'll stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In desperate need of remodel"
Great location. However this didn't make up for the fact the hotel was dirty(dirty towels all around the floor on the holloways, old curtains with mold in the room) and working in a hotel myself I see the property is screaming for a renovation. It could be a great product ( the staff at valet and front desk are nice) but I'd never stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dirty, over-priced hotel w/ convenient location"
The hotel was old, with stained carpet, a dingy feel, and definitely not worth the price they charge. But it's walking distance from the Capitol and the convention center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"La Quinta Inn Austin Capitol is okay"
This La Quinta is okay. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. You do have to pay for valet parking at this hotel. The only thing I didn't like is that the in room coffee maker did not have the lid on it so we couldn't brew coffee. Water just spewed out all over the place without the lid. Also, 2 of the lamps did not work. […] Need new bulbs? Other than that, there were no other problems. I would stay here again. It was conveniently located to where we needed to be and very close to downtown. Thanks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but..."
There were other hotels in the area that were slightly more expensive that I am going to try during my next trip to Austin. I loved that this place was right next to the Capitol building and within walking/biking distance to all of downtown and surrounding areas. However, the room was simply not worth the $177 a night plus hidden fees. With black mold […] in the bathroom covered up with a thin layer of paint and an underlying mildewy smell among other things, the place was just not kept up. I would not stay here again. Requested and paid for a non smoking room but ended in a smoking room. Worst smell and experience in a hotel to date. my clothes smelled awful and I was embarrassed to be on the flight the next morning. This brand has let me down.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Located close to all the things you'd want to see in Austin. Decent breakfast. Good wifi in the rooms. Comfortable bed, clean bath area. Friendly staff on the front desk. Easy check in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and comfy"
The room was clean and comfy, and the staff was friendly. I didn't love that the hotel's parking is all valet, but street parking was plentiful, and, since it was Sunday night, there was no charge for that. The hotel is within walking distance of the state capital -- a big plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location... In walking distance to the Capital and 6th street. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative was the drain to the shower felt like I was taking a shower and bath. Valet people were great. Thanks again guys!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Receptionist was very rude told me one thing and turned out to be another, they made me pay for parking without giving me any other option.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad for the $"
It was a good value for the money compared to other nearby hotels. Room seemed clean and no complaints. Hotel itself is mildly creepy. Staff seemed friendly. Was just looking for a place to crash after a night of drinking on 6th street and it was perfect for that. Easy walking distance. "Excellent Location, Excellent Price"
We stayed here to see a comedy show at Paramount Theater. We had no idea how centrally located this place was! Easy walk to sixth and most restaurants in the area. Completely worth it. The place was really clean and the staff was really nice. We didn't go to the continental breakfast though, so no comment there. The ice machine on our floor was broken, […] so thats a bummer but not the worst thing. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE PARKING. It is mandatory valet if you park on location and it is $13 per night. We were not warned of this fact, so it caught me a bit off guard whenever I checked out. We were only there for one night so it wasn't that bad. It's really not that bad of a price either. Just be aware that there is no other way to park on site if you do not use the valet and the charges associated with it. But I really did enjoy my stay and will definitely stay there again. It was within walking distance to the state Capital, which was nice. The hotels walls were thin, just like the other reviews plainly state-but they were thin enough to the point at 11:30ish,it was like your neighbors were right next to you, instead of in a hallway. Valet parking required-$13 a day, which was very good. This is downtown, and some parking […] is only daytime and still cost $10,so overnight valet for $13 is very comparable. Just think,if they didn't require this,5 people at a time parking downtown at a hotel= not good. The beds were nice in the rooms, good enough bathrooms, but the carpeting was old and kinda dirty-not really putting the hotel at fault for that,it's just what happens. It's not like you'd really walk barefoot anyhow.Nice pool, really big even with 2 families at the shallow end (2 feet-5.2 feet) and some couple at the deep end, taking selfies. (Too far humanity ?) There are clean towels at the pool, too,if you can't wait for room service,or you happen to forget your towel while you're at the pool, middle of the left side. Simple free breakfast-DIY waffles, with table syrup ,bread for toast, bagels to toast, with jam and cream cheese, decaf and reg coffee with sugar and creamer, 2 kinds of oatmeal and 2 kinds of cereal. "Can't beat the location"
The La Quinta is... well, it's a LaQuinta. The staff is always friendly and the breakfast in the morning makes it totally worth it. It's in a great location and very walkable. It's close to the funky bars and great restaurants on the east side and close to sixth street, too. Price is great and the value is why I always stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel if you're going to do the party scene and hit up 6th very convenient... Smaller rooms not a whole lotta space but well kept. The valets are awesome!Genuine Expedia guest review
"The old must valet parking fee trick"
Did not like the surprise of the parking fee as it was not stated any where that you were required to valet your car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel to stay at for the location and parking! It is clean, but not upgraded or fancy but close to the bars, Ut, and is located across from the capital in downtown! Stay here for the price, location, parking, and it's dog friendly if u can't leave home without it!! Very Friendly and helpful staff!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
facility is a dump in need of a major upgrade. Paid more for this hotel than I did at a 4star hotel in San Antinio. Staff was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was convenient. However, you paid for it not only in price, but with loud guests continuing the party from Sixth Street. The valet parking was inconvenient but a necessary evil. The staff was friendly, though. This is always important.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Weird mix of hotel/motel, dirty. Good location but wouldn't recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was very good and courteous. So close to the capital, great for sightseeing. Property was a little older but in good shape. Didn't mind the valet parking. They were very responsive to requests. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Reasonable location - although bit of a schlep from south Congress if you're in Austin for the music- take a bus to the Continental and grab a cab back. Friendly staff. Bit of a problem with in-room coffee; they kept leaving us de-caf coffee bags despite us only using the non-decaf on the first night. Seems a bit crazy not to provide a fridge in the […] room during July in Texas! And would have been better to have a safe in the room rather than rely on one of the deposit boxes at reception. "Hotel on 11 st"
Mandatory extra $ Valet parking was never mentioned on here. And then guest wanting to fight valet drivers for going through their vehicles. Over all I think it was wayyyyyyyyyyyy toooo expensive for the room. Bathroom door falling off very dissapointed!!Genuine Expedia guest review
My stay was ok, was disappointed in having to pay for valet parking when I stayed pared there for most of my visit. My first night there when I checked in I found that there wasn't a remote in the room. It took the desk clerk three trips and multiple remotes before he could give me one. we booked a non smoking room, when we got there we were told there was none, that all their rooms was smoking! so ok we figured we could go buy some febreeze and air the room out and manage. then we were told the pool was closed, one of the main reason we booked so our children could swim! The staff was fantastic in their service, respect, and assistance. The area is not very nice, so I was very thankful for the free valet parking. The condition of the outside of the hotel was terrible...looks really rundown and dirty. But the inside of my room (when we finally were able to get one that a key would open) was very clean although very dated. […] Overall, I would give this a 3 out of 5 stars...mainly for the service. "The only good thing is their location!"
Stay was ok. They need to change their bedsheets often. The comforter had cigerette burns and the overall room/ bathroom was not very clean. The overall feeling was not very fresh. The only good thing-La Quinta is well located in Austin close to plenty of things however by paying just a little more or maybe the same price one can get a better hotel. "The worst breakfast lady of all time!"
I stayed here for a weekend vacation with friends. I gave the staff 3 stars because the breakfast lady was rude, I had accidentally spilt some juice on the floor and the lady gave me this disgusted look while telling me to clean it up. I understand the task of wiping juice may be a pain but the rudeness was uncalled for. I don't have a problem cleaning […] my own mess however I am a guest in a hotel, it wasn't like i deliberately caused a mess. The check-in staff was fairly neutral and the only bright spot was the plethora of valet guys in the front. I happened to be going in and out so I talked to them alot they were all very friendly, professional and had my car ready in just a few minutes each time. The rooms are pretty clean and the location is great being right in the middle of downtown. I would recommend this place if you wanted something convenient and low key. The feel is sorta more like a nice motel though than your typical hotel since access to all rooms are outside. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Location was excellent to attend Austin Convention Center. Just go downhill one way for 9 blocks to the parking garage. The facility had excellent helpful staff and courtesy valet parking (no parking places for non guests). The facility itself could use refreshing.Genuine Expedia guest review
This La Quinta is an older hotel but the customer service was outstanding, the valet team hospitable, and the location was excellent, just two blocks south of the Capital, with restaurants either to the east or on Congress.
