"Comfortable and convenient"
It met my expectations for a reasonable price, convenient location, and comfortable room. The included breakfast was a nice benefit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mediocre, will not stay there again"
A place that doesn't make you like to go back to it in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
perfect location downtown, but what made it exemplary was the quality of the staff, from the desk clerk who helped access our boarding passes to the valets who were extremely courteous and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick Unexpected Trip"
Don't like the mandated valet parking... its an inconvenience to get something from your car if need it, even if on first level, as well as constant tipping if in/out. Hotel is in need of renovation as showing its age. Staff overall friendly, and good downtown location within walking distance of various venues and activities. Price was right, and good […] for a quick overnight stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"You pay for location"
I was not impressed by the hotel. The elevator was filthy and needed to be cleaned. Overall the hotel design and decor was outdated. It is in need of new everything. The carpet was old and the bathtub was stained. The bed was nice and clean, but that was the only positive thing about the room. The service was friendly but again, you pay for the location. […] You are forced to valet your car and an additional fee is tacked onto your room for that. I did quite enjoy the ability to walk to several restaurants and businesses. However, I would not stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"best location, ok hotel"
Perfectly located directly downtown, only a few blocks from all of Austin's best monuments, bars, restaurants, and music venues. I didn't mind the valet parking (which is mandatory $12/day), cause my car was safe and I could just walk anywhere I needed. Basic room, clean, friendly front desk staff, I saw a pretty nice pool and workout room although […] I didn't get to experience either. The breakfast was well managed and quiet. The only thing that bothered us, which also seemed to bother plenty of other guests, is the noise! a lot of parties going on at the hotel, also lots of loud college-aged kids that were there to go out drinking downtown, so you can imagine the noise around 5-6pm, and around 1-2am. Me and my wife slept ok regardless because most of the noise was distant from our room, but it would have been smart to bring some earplugs. I Heard from some other guests that hotel security was trying to keep the noise down, but they can only do so much when it's multiple rooms over and over. For the price and location though, I would certainly stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"standard motel with a decent location"
The room was clean and the location was close enough to walk to the convention center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel next to the Texas Capitol"
A yellow corner building near the Austin Capitol and great view to the city. The hotel is old, but with a great staff any hotel can be rated as 5 star hotel. As long as the room is clean and the bed is comfortable you can not ask for anything else. I would stay here again, but rather be on a leisure trip with my wonderful family.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is incredibly noisy. It's not the most up-to-date property I've ever stayed at, but it is clean and the staff is very helpful and flexible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was originally going to give this four stars--based on other reviews, I wasn't expecting a lot, but the room was decently clean and that was really what I just needed. (Yes, it smelled a little musty, and you wish they had those small amenities that make a big difference, but that is what you pay for. And, location is pretty convenient.) What brought […] my experience down to four stars was seeing how my room was visible from the street: a little concern for privacy (though the rooms are only accessible through the lobby elevator), and also the noise/draft from the streets. Unfortunately there was a construction going on during my stay, which is not the hotel's fault, but it was hard to sleep. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We didn't pay attention on the fact that the hotel was by Austin University and mostly filled with students during the week end, As a consequence the night was a bit noisy outside our room and we didn't manage to sleep for a couple of hours, The manager of the hotel gaves us a discount, which was much appreciated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean room"
The room was very clean. The hotel's location is convenient, and it's a good value for downtown. I did not like that you are charged for parking even though you already paid to stay at the hotel. Parking should be included. Also you could hear other guests pretty well through the walls.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Business in Austin"
Our stay was very comfortable. The staff is so very friendly. Definitely worth the cost.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The hotel was walking distance to 6th St. and restaurants. Breakfast was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"La Quinta Downtown Austin"
Met with friendly reception dispite the hour (Midnight). Valet parking was excellent and friendly despite severe weather (below freezing, sleet and freezing rain). Convenient location, clean room. Well worth the cost.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a place to stay if your looking for a quiet motel. If your there to party it is ideal. Walking distance to 6th street. People out socializing after bar hours (the party relocated here). Rooms were clean and I saw no bugs like other reviews I read. Vallet guys very helpful. Desk staff looked miserable and irritated. Not mean just looked like they […] hated there job. I did not like the fact that I had to pay for parking. This was not posted on the web-site when I was looking for hotels. I was close to the elevator and it was very noisy traffic passing my room from other guests. I go to Austin frequently and I will not be staying at this hotel again. I did not find the value for the dollar amount I spent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"It's all about the location."
Let's be honest. It's clean and within walking distance of the Capital, 6th street, Zilker Park, and South Congress, what more can you want?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Having to pay for mandatory valet parking was a bummer. The staff was helpful with maps and information of the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was very comfortable, staff helpful, wireless, cable and breakfast. This is a good economy hotel. I'll stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient and good value"
Hotel room provided everything I needed for a short 2 night stay. Every hotel staff person I encountered was extremely pleasant and accommodating. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and delightful attitude of all staff memebers. I'd definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room smelled really strange, a candle did not help. Could any car that drive past, uncomfortable bed and pillows , the shower curtain had orange mildew on it as well. I felt dirty the whole time I was there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the beds were comfortable enough. the bathroom walls were falling apart. the tub didn't drain efficiently during a shower. the bathroom doors were a joke. a refrigerator in the room would have made the experience much better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I found the staff very helpful and the wi fi fast! I will book with La Quinta again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"IF YOU ONLY NEED THE ROOM TO SLEEP AT NIGHT...."
We went to Austin to a Seminar and had to bring our kids with us, 16 and 10. We only stayed there because it was close to where the Seminar was; the Hotel it's very old. The walls look like they have been painted 500 times over. The seat on the toilet is the cheapest one I have ever seen, I don't think you can even find those in Walmart. The first night, […] there was a lot of drunk people around 3:00am laughing, yelling, arguing, etc... and we could hear everything...terrible night. Since we are from San Antonio, TX, the next day after the Seminar, we decided to drive back to our house in San Antonio and stay there for the second night, then we drove back in the morning to Austin. "Careful when you stay."
I liked this hotel overall. The room was more than adequate and quite clean. However I stayed over Halloween and the night before a Texas home game (separate nights). The rooms are situated in a 4 story square around the parking lot and room doors open onto outdoor corridors. The noise echos and reverberates and continued virtually all night on those […] occasions, and I am usually a pretty good sleeper. The other nights were relatively quiet. "Valet packing not neccessary"
I can't stand the valet parking, it is an unnecessary service that I don't want. I will never stay here again due to that alone and I can't recommend this place to anyone. They have an outdated terrible motel that stays in business due to location alone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Never, I repeate NEVER, stay in this hotel if you want a quite night of sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for, but you pay more."
Great location for everything in Austin. Its an older hotel and it shows. For the next few months construction is going on right across the street. So if you do stay get a room that is not on the street side. Valet parking is a little pricey but the guys who are working are on it, they hustle. Hotel staff are ok. Its all about the customer service, […] have to remember that. I would recommend a stay here if your in town for a show or some type of event. Not the best for a family or weekend getaway. No fridge or microwave in rooms. They might want to look into that to justify the price per night. Take note La Quinta. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Walking distance to ACL Shuttle"
We picked this hotel because it was within walking distance of the ACL shuttle. Overall the hotel was clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated the guys at the valet station. They were quick to get your car and offer directions. We stayed for three nights, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There were loud people in […] the hallway late Saturday night. Other than that everything was great. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff at desk not friendly. Didn't smile. Didn't feel welcomed. Valet employees were very helpful, courteous and polite. Curtains don't block out light from parking lights. The location was loud and room was bright. Made it difficult to sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pay a view more dollars and stay at a better hotel"
We stayed at the Capitol La Quinta Inn one night and I wish we would have paid a few more dollars for a nicer hotel. This La Quinta is old, and in need of some up dating. The sliding window did not lock. The towels are very thin and the bath room was dingy. They only offer valet parking for $12.50 per day. The only positive was the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, old hotel."
The hotel is in downtown Austin. You can walk around downtown without a problem. The hotel is very old and needs renovations. The breakfast area needs a renovation for sure; tables and chairs are very old. Staff is not very friendly, you need to ask them the specifics because they will not explain it to you.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Serviceable for Austin City Limits"
My friend and I stayed for Austin City Limits, and it was conveniently located to the shuttle pick up area but pricey for the accommodations. Hotel service (front desk) was mediocre, and the room condition was mediocre to subpar. For example, the carpeted floor was extremely dirty such that we made sure to wear shoes when walking around in the room […] (our bare feet would become black otherwise). Great location, staff was accommodating, walking distance to everything downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed here as a halfway stopping point on a drive to Texas. The staff was all very friendly. The hotel was pretty run down and old. The faucet for the bathtub leaked and everything seemed worn down. It was fine for a quick overnight stay, but they could use some renovations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not too far from 6th Street"
The bed was comfortable. The floor of the bathroom looked like stained 2 x 6 boards. Parking costs $12.99 / night at the hotel. I went for price when I was looking on here. I wish I would've seen this added expense to help in my decision making process.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Got the job done"
I thought that the hotel would not have been worth the price I paid if it was just me. But we split the cost between a bunch of people. I say it wasn't worth it, because for $160 a night, I could get a really nice hotel elsewhere. That said, the room was clean and basic, it was fairly quiet, the staff were friendly, and the location was by 6th and the […] Capitol, which was perfect for our group. I'm satisfied, but again, was a little put off by the price (I had stayed in the Ritz and a Marriot for around $120 a night on my last trips). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location & value - newly updated rooms"
It's a LaQuinta, it's a bargain that won't blow you away. Having been to Austin many times, I usually stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient and is priced well. Parking is valet only but under $15, which you will have to pay at least that much to park anywhere in Austin anyway. The hotel is walk-able from the 6th Street area or a $5 cab […] ride. While it's not a great overall hotel, the staff was friendly and the rooms as of Oct .2013 were newly renovated and clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great central location for 1st time visitors!"
My first time in Austin, this location is great if you want to walk either north or south easily to visit U of T or 6th Street location. I would definitely stay their again.
