Reasonable location - although bit of a schlep from south Congress if you're in Austin for the music- take a bus to the Continental and grab a cab back. Friendly staff. Bit of a problem with in-room coffee; they kept leaving us de-caf coffee bags despite us only using the non-decaf on the first night. Seems a bit crazy not to provide a fridge in the […] room during July in Texas! And would have been better to have a safe in the room rather than rely on one of the deposit boxes at reception. "Hotel on 11 st"
Mandatory extra $ Valet parking was never mentioned on here. And then guest wanting to fight valet drivers for going through their vehicles. Over all I think it was wayyyyyyyyyyyy toooo expensive for the room. Bathroom door falling off very dissapointed!!Genuine Expedia guest review
My stay was ok, was disappointed in having to pay for valet parking when I stayed pared there for most of my visit. My first night there when I checked in I found that there wasn't a remote in the room. It took the desk clerk three trips and multiple remotes before he could give me one. I found it odd that the cleaning staff would just take it from […] the room. After a very long drive tv and relaxation meant a lot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Walking distance to the capital and downtown area.Genuine Expedia guest review
we booked a non smoking room, when we got there we were told there was none, that all their rooms was smoking! so ok we figured we could go buy some febreeze and air the room out and manage. then we were told the pool was closed, one of the main reason we booked so our children could swim! DONT BELIEVE THE ADVERTIZEMENT ON THE WEBSITE.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to 6th street"
Close to 6th street and provides breakfast....what more do you needGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff was fantastic in their service, respect, and assistance. The area is not very nice, so I was very thankful for the free valet parking. The condition of the outside of the hotel was terrible...looks really rundown and dirty. But the inside of my room (when we finally were able to get one that a key would open) was very clean although very dated. […] Overall, I would give this a 3 out of 5 stars...mainly for the service. "The only good thing is their location!"
Stay was ok. They need to change their bedsheets often. The comforter had cigerette burns and the overall room/ bathroom was not very clean. The overall feeling was not very fresh. The only good thing-La Quinta is well located in Austin close to plenty of things however by paying just a little more or maybe the same price one can get a better hotel. […] We went to swim but were unable to as the pool was unclean and not maintained at all. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The worst breakfast lady of all time!"
I stayed here for a weekend vacation with friends. I gave the staff 3 stars because the breakfast lady was rude, I had accidentally spilt some juice on the floor and the lady gave me this disgusted look while telling me to clean it up. I understand the task of wiping juice may be a pain but the rudeness was uncalled for. I don't have a problem cleaning […] my own mess however I am a guest in a hotel, it wasn't like i deliberately caused a mess. The check-in staff was fairly neutral and the only bright spot was the plethora of valet guys in the front. I happened to be going in and out so I talked to them alot they were all very friendly, professional and had my car ready in just a few minutes each time. The rooms are pretty clean and the location is great being right in the middle of downtown. I would recommend this place if you wanted something convenient and low key. The feel is sorta more like a nice motel though than your typical hotel since access to all rooms are outside. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was nice. Really close to the state capital. The reason I was going forGenuine Expedia guest review
The building is dilapidated. Lots of cosmetic cover ups. Carpets need to be shampooed. It felt sticky. The walls are ultra thin. When people pass your room you can hear them. The service at the front desk was sub par at best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the money."
Ok. Very close to Capitol. Walking distance to 6th street night life.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location downtown Austin"
Location was excellent to attend Austin Convention Center. Just go downhill one way for 9 blocks to the parking garage. The facility had excellent helpful staff and courtesy valet parking (no parking places for non guests). The facility itself could use refreshing.Genuine Expedia guest review
This La Quinta is an older hotel but the customer service was outstanding, the valet team hospitable, and the location was excellent, just two blocks south of the Capital, with restaurants either to the east or on Congress. Complimentary breakfast was good enough to get you to the lunch hour. The room was clean and quiet. The pool was perfect after […] our excursions in this great town of Austin! "Close to the capitol!"
Staying at the La Quinta was nice for the convenience of being near the capitol. The hotel was clean, the beds comfortable. Parking is extra, but the valet people are awesome.Genuine Expedia guest review
"I'd Stay Here Again"
Had business at State Capitol. Valet staff AWESOME! Room was no frills, comfortable and close to my destination. I had everthing I needed. A little noisy, but it IS a motel v a hotel. I'd stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Given room on ground floor next to parking lot and neighbor Yahoos made noise thru out the night. Toilets in my,and other attached, rooms whined loudly with every flush. In addition, light fixture near bed was not operable. Location was alright, but this is a motel and should only be charging motel type rates.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was reasonably clean and felt safe, although there was a sketchier neighborhood a bit east. Short walk to 6th street. Staff was welcoming and replaced a light bulb quickly. Overall a satisfactory place to stay for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to capitol and 6th street"
expensive for what it offers. In expedia it didn't say anything about the extra cost of the parking. Is just a couple of blocks away from Capitol and 5 blocks from the 6th street, which is where you find all the night life action. But 220 for one night is way too much for what it looks like a simple motel 6 well located.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, nothing special"
This hotel has seen better days but the room was clean. Good location relative to the capitol and 6th street bars/shops. It's at a busy intersection so traffic noise can be an issue.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had issues with internet connectivity. Not near any restaurants and no room service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice budget hotel"
The hotel was right in the heart of downtown Austin which was what I was looking for. It was during a festival weekend, so rates were high, but cheaper than other hotels. The room was clean and staff at the front desk was friendly. A free basic breakfast was included. Throughout the night there were people running around the hotel making noise which […] was annoying, but not necessarily the fault of the hotel. The only complaint is that they require valet parking which was expensive and also required tipping the valets. At a La Quinta Inn, valet parking is not needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It hardly seemed worth the price of $242 after taxes. It's essentially a motel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice staff but over priced hotel"
I would say the hotel is overpriced. The condition of the hotel is not that good. It should be priced lower than 100/night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was incredibly loud on Saturday night. I don't consider myself a light sleeper, and we went to bed fairly late ourselves (around 2 am). However, there were people up and down the hallway all night and lots of shouting. Then, in the morning, it sounded like someone was hanging pictures on the wall adjacent to ours, just really loud hammering. Sunday […] night was not nearly as bad, and I slept well. The other issue was that I did tell the hotel that three people were staying in the room, yet there were still only two wash clothes and hand towels. I felt like they should have put one for each guest at least. But the beds and pillows were comfy and the room was clean. Also, if the continental breakfast ends at 9:00, don't walk in at 9:05 because you will get told it is closed and scowled at. The location was excellent. And the valet guys were super kind, friendly, and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing Staff-Cheap-Close to Everything"
Staff was great. Specifically the Valet- we didn't have a car but they gave us a ton of insight into where to go for food, directions, hot spots, etc. Room was clean. Pool was nice- not a 5 star by any means but well kept. Hotel a little out dated, but can't beat it for the price. Great location, but on top of a massive hill, so be careful if you decide […] to rent bikes or anything! We walked everywhere- almost everything within 1/2 mile from the hotel and about a 2 minute walk to the Capitol. I would definitely stay here again, it was $150-$200 cheaper per night than other hotels closer to downtown/6th street, but for the money it's worth the nice walk. Overall very satisfied and would definitely recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel near downtown"
the valet parking is a bit annoying. my friend said she had bed bug in her room but the staff didn't take it serious. luckily there's none in mine room. quite expensive for the facility.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good staff decent location"
Hotel Staff was a very helpful with the area an made great recommendations. We had an issue with a hose to the toilet developing a hole in it during the middle of the night. They came quickly and cleaned up the mess and took care of the problem.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location...average property"
Good value for center city location. Did not like having to Valet the car...don't understand why...hotel has been there forever and parking was fine before. Adds $13 per day to bill not including tip. Also, I'm fine with same linen and reusing towels but room should be refreshed without asking. This isn't a cheap motel....expect more from a La Quinta. […] Rooms were nicer than worn out looking building exterior. Easy walk to Capitol or downtown attractions. BTW...more critical as I'm former Austin resident and have stayed at this hotel many times. "6th street visit"
Me and 4 other girls went west to Austin to visit 6th street for a weekend. The distance was perfect, it was just a short 5 minute walk to the center of the bars so no driving needed! The rooms were decent, nothing fancy but for the price and location, I would room there again. Didn't plan on spending much time in it anyways other than getting ready […] and sleeping! Very pleased with the hotel. The staff was outstandingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good value. My only criticism is that the coffee and condominents for the coffee is awful. Coffee is just cheap. If they were to improve the coffee service . I am not talking about Starbucks or Seattle's Best but just a good quality with condominents. I would then rate it a good to excellent but. G. HesterGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel near capitol"
Reasonably priced basic hotel. Public spaces are a little dog eared but the room was fine. Good location for business or partying on 6th St. Friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Long in the tooth"
This LaQuinta is old, poorly maintained, dirty and smelly. The staff was unfriendly, the maid failed to clean our bathroom, breakfast was minimal. My wife could not drink the coffee. The bright spot was the valet parkers, who were cheery and funny. They were contract workers, not employed by LaQuinta. Makes me wonder about the management. Great location […] however. "Another solid La Quinta location"
I've stayed at a few La Quintas and I'm always pleased. This one in Austin has a particularly good location, I walked to 6th street for dinner in about 7 minutes. Maybe 5 minutes. The building is a little older than others I've stayed at but it is still well-maintained.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I guess the location is everything, but I expected a lot more for about $200 per night. No fridge in the rooms, rooms were small and outdated, hallways were claustrophobic, there was no coffee at the breakfast bar (and none of the staff seemed to think that was a problem.) This was the kind of room I expect for $75 - $100 per night: safe and clean and […] only minor problems, but nothing special. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location. Very good staff. Rooms clean. Public areas and hallways worn and in need of deep clean and paint. The room air conditioners blow lots of cold air, but hard to keep a consistent temperature; either very cold and noisy or have to turn off and gets muggyGenuine Expedia guest review
Week-end getaway with family. Hotel staff were very helpful. Central location made everything within walkable distance - walked to The Capitol, walked to the UT campus, walked to the Bat Bridge. Great experience at Hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for Capital activities"
This former 'motel' has been transformed into a very comfortable place to stay when you have downtown business. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness of the room. The staff, especially the Valet Parking attendants, were GREAT! Friendly, helpful. We had a great stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
