Stay was very good. Good breakfast, great location and clean but, the day I was leaving I found a cockroach under my shoes in a corner of the room. It's my understanding that these creatures are coming back to Davis... however, it was a surprise.

Right in downtown Davis, an easy walk to campus and shops. A bit noisy on a Saturday night, though. Room average for this kind of place - no luxuries, but adequate. Free breakfast pretty poor, coffee undrinkable. Fortunately, there are two good coffee shops within two blocks. One morning the crew occupied an entire table in the tiny breakfast room watching […] a comedy in Spanish on a smartphone...laughing uproariously, completely oblivious to the patrons. It feels churlish to criticize them, as they were having such a good time, but it wasn't professional behavior with guests around. I have stayed in Davis many times and I would not recommend this hotel again. I asked for a late checkin and received it but had to go to a different hotel chain to pick up the key as know one was on the premesis after 11:00pm. The room had a bad order (sour musty) and was not overly clean. The continential breakfast was OK but did not have what it […] showed on the website. I stayed here for one Saturday night. It was the cheapest option in Davis at that time. It served its purpose - nothing special, nothing weird or gross. plenty of parking, walking distance to downtown Davis and many restaurants.

The sink in the restroom was clogged. They don't have any hair conditioner. There was only 1/2 of toilet paper in the restroom. The blow dryer smelled burned. The girl at the reception was UNFRIENDLY and UNHELPFUL, very rude. She acted like she was there because she had to or something. Hotel office closes at 11pm, had to go a few blocks away to check in-would have been nice to know ahead of time. Literally, nothing in the room is newer than the year 2000. Refrigerator was loud, old school TV didn't get 3 of the 14 channels it supposedly offered. Great location, that's about it.

I would have to say this was the best deal I've ever had for the price. The room was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was very clean and looked like it had recently been remodeled. The hotel is right in the heart of Davis, so we could walk to a restaurant and not have to drive or park. Breakfast was even included.....fresh bagels, good coffee […] and more. The room was plenty big enough. Bonus was the fridge, microwave and coffee in room! 4 blocks from UCD! Right in a neighborhood and downtown was a block or so away. Very pleased and would gladly stay there again.

I'm a bit of a budget hotel junkie - I don't necessarily go for the bottom of the barrel, but I'll tend to pick what's cheapest. So I was pretty surprised at how much I got for my money (or, well, my Welcome Rewards) at the Econolodge. Sure, the Wi-Fi sucked, but most hotel Wi-F in this price range does. That's why there's mobile phone tethering, right? […] But it had a fridge AND a microwave. That's like the golden combo of hotels. The freezer part in my fridge was kinda flaky, but it did the job for the time I needed it to. Will definitely consider this place again next time I'm in downtown Davis. Read more

I arrived at mid-night and had to go to a Best Western 3 blocks away to pick up the key. The shower sink was terribly messy and dirty, and obviously clogged. The location is fantastic, right in downtown Davis. But, the booming bass from bars can be heard until quite late, but that's to be expected in a college town. Parking was limited with no spaces opening up during my stay and no street parking; how many vehicles belonged to actual guests was unclear as the motel had no monitoring or parking passes. The smokers congregated outside of my room by the ice machine; it would be nice if smokers a) either had a designated smoking area or b) there was no smoking on […] the premises. The air conditioning unit was very loud but worked. The room was certainly adequate, in town and convenient, but the furnishings need some replacement. Smoke detector malfunction, so it beeped constantly. Desk clerk couldn't find replacement battery for 1/2 hour, so we had to disable it. Noisy. Lousy breakfast choices.

This hotel is ok. It's cheap and in the middle of downtown Davis. Staff is not the best. The cleaning crew knocked on the door once then decided it was a good idea to just open the door all while i just got out of the shower. Luckily i heard them first and stopped them. But just like the title says its meh.

We were going to Davis for a new year's eve party and needed a place to stay. Location is great - we took amtrak from the bay area and walked to the hotel, then walked to the party and walked back to the hotel, then walked back to amtrak the next morning. Service was fine - nothing special but it was quick and no problems booking through hotels.com […] - our reservation came right up and was recognized as prepaid when we checked out. The room was pretty clean - the bathroom had a few wear and tear spots but was not dirty. We didn't wake up in time for the breakfast so can't comment on that. Read more

First time, it was a restaurant across the street with a chef chopping taco meat out on their outdoor patio at 1 am. This hotel is ideal for visiting UC Davis or downtown Davis. It's not the Ritz, but it is totally adequate - you're not paying for a 5 star hotel. Our room was spacious and clean. The only problem was not being able to control the water temp in the shower - it was either HOT or COLD . . . .

This location is very convenient to UC Davis. But.... While the rooms were clean, the bed was very uncomfortable, not conducive to good sleep. Also, I feel that it would be charitable to characterize the staff as "unhelpful". I carefully asked before I arrived if a computer was available for printing out boarding passes, and was assured that this […] would be no problem. When I went to actually do this, I had the misfortune of running into a very strange desk clerk that told me "Well, we usually do that, but right now I can't see my computer screen, so I would rather not let you use it." I refrained from mentioning that I could see her computer screen, it was right in front of her. The only thing that I could think of was that she was trying to tell me that she was having a migraine, and was having trouble reading her computer screen. Still, I fail to see how this could possibly be related to ME printing out my boarding pass. I thanked her for being unhelpful, and went off in search of a computer, which I found in another establishment. In addition, it was during my stay that the fire alarm chose to start beeping through the night. I pulled the battery out of it to shut it up, and in the morning asked the maintenance folks if they had a battery so that I could put the alarm back on the ceiling. For the price the motel is great. The motel is in the heart of downtown Davis and only a 5 minute walk to campus. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean.
