We stayed at one of the mini-suites, and the bathrooms are very nice, but the floors are VERY cold in the winter. They're tiled, and they totally spoiled the treat of the nice shower and jacuzzi bath tub. If there was a floor heater, then it wasn't labeled, so even if we didn't find it, that's also a problem. Other than that, great rooms, and service. However, if you're looking for the best view of the lake, you'd probably get an even better view if you're on the other side of the street, with less visual obstructions.

Well for the price this place is NOT worth it!! First of all the rooms are stuffy, the windows don't open. The beds don't have a blanket just a super hot down comforter. The bed was too soft, got a back ache from it. The walls are thin. They cram everyone into the same hall of the virtually empty hotel so housekeeping doesn't have too walk far. There are NO vending machines so if you're hungry for a snack you're out of luck and their bar "The Zone" falsly advertises their drink prices for Sundays and Mondays.

Some aspects of this hotel are nice. The staff was more than hospitable. The restraunts were very good. The plumbing is where they skimped. We had a wobbly toilet and the railing for the shower door was coming off. Our room had a vintage style porno tub and the mirrors on the surrounding wall had scratches. The roman tub actually made gurgling sounds at one point and we thougth that it might be ready to back up. Our friends, who stayed in another room. Didn't have cold water to their bathroom faucet as the handle was stripped and partially taken apart. I've stayed at cheaper places on the strip for much less.

While the room was very clean and comfortable it was like stepping back into the '80's. On past stays I've been in updated rooms and on other stays in the "old" rooms. The "old" rooms are tacky! Very nice stay, very nice hotel, can't wait to come back. The food in the 24 hr restaurant was the best we ever had in this type of casino restaurant anywhere! Excellent service there too ! However I will again look forward to gambling elsewhere as the drink service was stingy. In one instance, upon getting up from a table I was at for a while the waitress saw me get up then took off in the other direction. I felt that was pretty rude so I went up for the night. I hope the Montbleu feels the savings of $2 on my beer was better than the $300 I had in my pocket for the rest of that night.

We have taken numerous family trips to South Lake Tahoe and stay at the MontBleu. We were assigned a room in a different wing of the hotel and we were very pleased with the comfort level. The beds were soft and comfortable, room size was good sized for a family, the bathrooms were large enough for two people, and the air conditioner was quiet. As in most casinos, the game area was extremely smokey but not very crowded. We would stay here again, especially if the room rate is better than the surrounding large hotels.

The price got was reasonable, but just remember you get what you pay for!! The room was ok, clean, but it definitely had some wear & tear. The bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom was nice, well stocked and a good view of the golf course. The shower was kind of cool, but it was SO gross and dirty I didn't even want to shower in it barefoot! I laid 2 towels down on the shower floor, that was the only way I would step floor in there barefoot!!

After walking through the other area hotels (during our visit), I am convinced that the MontBleu is the current best hotel in the South Lake Tahoe area. Generous sized rooms, helpful staff and centrally located. This casino had the gaming tables and the sports book area as well. My husband and I were shocked to discover that a few other large hotel/casinos had decreased the availablity of these or eliminated them completely from their property in favor of more slot machines.

I doubt the owners of this hotel have done any renovations since purchasing it several years ago, (was initially Caesar's Palace)since the decor is still faux greek. The windows do NOT open at all. There were no vents to turn on (including in the bathroom). Stuffy dry air from the air conditioner made sleeping difficult. There are much better deals to be had for a comparable price at State Line.
