Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

comfy bed, nice bathroom, great staff at front desk, wireless access easy, computer in Lobby new and rapid. Parking garage reasonable rate. Great spot nearby:EatIly--check it out for restaurants and goodies to bring home. Only improvement that could be made is quality of towels.

This hotel was great - the room was oversized and comfortable, the bed was great, the people at the front desk were warm and helpful, the location was perfect. My overall experience at the hotel was really fantastic and added to the enjoyment of my weekend in NYC.

"Classy Hotel in Theater District"
My husband and I stayed one night in this hotel. The service was excellent, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the decor was beautiful. We highly recommend the Michaelangelo for a romantic weekend in the city.

This was my first stay. The lobby was a bit dated looking, but the room was great. There is no coffee in the room, but room service came in 10 minutes. The continental breakfast was huge and tasty. The bar was quite nice, with excellent service. Hotel location is perfect for theater.

The service was outstanding, the room size was huge considering most others in NY are very small, and the location couldn't get any better. Right around the corner from Time Square and Central Park. "Experience was average"
While the hotel was very nice, I was not overly impressed. I would likely try something different in the future, just to get a comparison (it was my first time in NY). Con(s): (1) While most of the staff members were very nice, a few were rude. My first talk (on the phone) with a member of the hotel staff was very disappointing (I found him to be […] very rude and unhelpful). (2) I noticed a number of other reviewers praised the size of the bathtub. Unfortunately for us, there was hair in the bathtub when we arrived -- which left us feeling uneasy about using anything other than the shower. (3) Price tags on various items in the room created a somewhat unwelcoming feel. I understand placing price tags on the mini-bar, but placing a price tag on the robes in the bathroom was a little excessive. (4) Not a very good view. Pro(s): (1) Big room (2) Little street noise for us (we were on one of the higher floors). Again, I'm not saying our stay was horrible -- just not remarkable for the amount we spent. Located a block from Rockefeller center, easy access to subway lines. Boutique feel to the hotel, everything was perfect: clean, well decorated rooms, pleasant and helpful service and great meal in the lobby restaurant. Highly recommend it!

Very close to theaters, times square and not too far from central park. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Room was comfortable and large with a large bathroom and tub. Super comfy bed. Best thing was that you are close to all the action but the hotel itself and room was beautiful, quiet and cozy. Only complaint is that plumbing could be quite loud […] at times. Otherwise perfect! I booked this hotel based on the reviews on Hotel.com and I have to agree that it is a great find. I've stayed at many hotels in NYC, including the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton and I have to say that the quality of the room was comparable (other than the bathroom). It is convenient for shows but you don't feel like you in the middle of a millino tourists […] in Times Square. Great hotel! Read more

We had another lovely stay at the Michelangelo. Our room was spacious, the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for the theatre , fine dining, and interesting shopping. This is definitely our favorite place to stay.

The room was decorated in opulent bordello style, offered no sky view (just an air shaft) and, worst of all, was incredibly hot and stuffy. There seemed to be no way to cool it down or introduce clean, fresh air. Love the Michaelangelo - always stay there when in NYC. Really miss the continental breakfast in the lobby. Basement accomodations more like a dungeon-definitely a downgrade in service. Otherwise still a great hotel in perfect neighborhood

"Comfort was lacking, but location was a plus"
Room was small, but clean. Bathroom could only accommodate one person at a time. The biggest complaint was the bed was too soft. The 3rd night I actually slept in the floor, because my back was hurting from the previous two nights. The 4th night, I tossed and tumbled all night. We were on the 7th floor and there was no ice machine. The nearest machine […] was on the 5th floor and it did not work. Staff didn't seem to be too concerned about it. "What a nightmare"
On new years eve I reserve a room at this hotel with a special someone to bring in the new year but as my dissapointment on the hotel staff that i was rudely interrupted by an intruder that cause my new year eve to be a nightmare. What happen was that the hotel staff let this intruder in the hotel without checking id at all. She came to my room using […] foul language and also I was concerned for my safety and my company that i was with, I asked security to call the police and in doing so i was told by security staff that it wouldnt be proper to call the police for this incident for the sake of the reputation of the hotel. "Very Nice hotel"
Stayed at this hotel several times now. Generally a very nice and elegant hotel. Service staff is not attentive but that's really the only drawback. Biggest problem is that many of the room views face directly into a cement wall so its good sleeping but nothing to look at.
"Wonderful NYC hotel"
Very nice hotel, great location-near the subway. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Of note, it is a European hotel and has a bidet. Also, you have to request an iron and they will set it up for you. Would definitely return.
