"Perfect Location for Theatre Fans"
The accommodations at the Michelangelo have always been very very good! Since the last time we were there, they updated the rooms. Maybe next time they can install flat screen tvs! The complimentary continental breakfast is very nice, as is the morning New York Times. Most important for us is that the theatre district is walking distance, no taxi, no […] subway!! The Michelangelo Hotel is a hidden jewel in a great location. Walking is accessible to Times Square, Broadway, The Theaters, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Time Warner Complex, Central Park, wonderful restaurants and more. Being an ex-New Yorker, I choose well. I was extremely pleased with the Michelangelo in every way.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Grandmother and Granddaughter Trip to NYC"
When I called to confirm my reservation, I asked about the possibility of a room with a view. It was no problem - a corner room overlooking 7th Ave. was ours. We would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
I think that this was our 3rd stay and I can't say enough great things about this hotel! Great location, clean, quiet, and very spacious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. My family and I come to NYC quite often and have stayed at about 30 hotels and I can honestly say this is hotel has become our favorite! The location is great, where it is a […] short walk to the theatre district and Times Square and still, we were able to reside in a hotel that is quiet and away from the craziness of the city. Also, there is a complimentary breakfast and coffee and the bar is very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a very nice, clean, comfortable hotel. We only stayed one night, so we did not have a great deal of interaction with the staff. Bed was very comfortable. We had a room on the 4th floor, and the view from the window was ugly (brick wall on 3 sides with an air conditioning unit below). The room, however, was very nice. We did not eat at the hotel […] so can't rate the food. A little pricey for a family. The location is excellent and close to all the theaters. "Nice Hotel---Room "without" a View!"
The interiors of the hotel were fine. Service was fine. The views from the windows are of another building about 8 feet away. We walked into our room at 4pm on a bright sunny afternoon and it felt like mid-night based on the amount of natural light. Great location, terrific room size by NYC or other standards. A slice of older NY ( good ). Robes nice as not to carry more luggage. Quiet, easy to work from the room. Excellent front desk staff . . . .gave me a tip for a green juice cart two blocks away where I had breakfast of fresh greens each day made by a lovely Thai women. "Great New York City Stay"
Very nice hotel. Our room was very clean and big. Would recommend to anyone and would stay here again. Close to everything. Time Square just around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful when asking questions of the city. We walked everywhere from here.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just beautiful! ."
Ultra convenient and luxurious. Close to everything. Great value. Very clean. Would have liked it if there were a coffee shop together a bite in for dinner but loved the free coffee and pastry for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful place convenient to theaters, MOMA, more"
Excellent hotel. Very attractive lobby and rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Two minor issues - the bathtub didn't drain quickly enough to keep up with the shower, and the complimentary breakfast could have included juices, jams, etc. But the staff provided jams on request. Neither issue was enough in my mind to reduce the rating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Immaculate Hotel near Times Square"
I have no idea what we did to deserve this, other than my room wasn't ready when I arrived around 3:15 pm. I waited about 10 minutes and was told they had upgraded me from their basic model that I had booked to save money. I was tired from my flight and feeling awful from the stop and go taxi ride, so took the keycard with a quiet thanks and headed […] upstairs, figuring we'd just get a slightly larger room. I walked into an 800 sf, two room suite, their best room that costs over $1100/night after taxes. Luxurious furnishings, marble hallways, 1.5 bathrooms (yes, a powder room off the living room!), chocolates on the pillow at night, giant bathtub. It was gorgeous! The staff was friendly from the front desk to the doormen. They held our luggage for us after we checked out and the 1 pm checkout time was very generous compared to most places. Very clean room. No view, but with a room like that in an overstimulating city, who cares? You don't go to NYC to stay in your room. It's a block from Times Square, right in the theater district, one block from Radio City and Rockefeller Center and two blocks from Fifth Ave shopping. I can't review the original room I booked with Expedia, since they upgraded us. But I can tell you the hotel, the staff and the room we did get were superb. I thanked the front desk profusely for their upgrade. What a treat! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff helpful and friendly. The hotel was charming and the rooms where large and very nicely done. I feel the value was more than worth it. I would have thought this kind of room would be hundreds more. The added touch of free coffee and danish for breakfast was a nice bonus. The cofffee was great and so was the danish. "excellent for pleasure and business in Manhattan"
I have been to Midtown Manhattan twice before for business and once for a pleasure visit. The Michelangelo was by far the best accommodations that I have had. Our room was roomy, clean, well appointed, with a comfortable bathroom and separate area with mirror off the main room. The central air was accurate with an excellent fan setting for white noise […] for light sleepers. The king size bed, less common in the Time Square, Rockefeller center area, was excellent with comfortable pillows. The price was similar to the well known hotels in the area that I have used before, but with much nicer accommodations. For non-business, the WiFi internet is typically expensive and there was a convenient but basic continental breakfast. I will definitely look to stay here again my next trip for pleasure or business to Mid-town Manhattan. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent stay once again!"
We chose to stay at the Michelangelo Hotel once again for our Anniversary. Upon checking in they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite that was beautiful! The rooms are already bigger than most NYC hotel rooms so the suite was very spacious! The location is absolutely perfect and we walked everywhere we were headed. We stayed in one night and headed to […] the lobby bar one night and grabbed a spot by the window to people watch, it was very cozy! LOVED the experience once again! Every year my husband and I celebrate our anniversary by staying at this beautiful hotel. "Excellent location and staff"
This hotel was a GREAT location, 8 blocks from the heart of Times Square. We loved hopw close everything was to our activities. This was our first time in NY, so we really appreciated the conceirge making many recomendations and reservations for us. It is an older hotel and there was scaffolding all over the front of the hotel and street (not pretty), […] but the interior was nice. The gym was REALLY small and very few machines, it was the most dissappointing aspect of the stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

TV was terrible. Room was not as nice as expected. Reservation was not in system at check in. Did not attempt to place us on same floor as the rest of my family, although they had plenty of open rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Will definately stay here again!"
We arrived to the city early and check in wasnt until 3 pm. We checkid in with the front desk staff who was very accomodating and put a rush on getting our room available. The room was over sized with Italian decor. Bed was very comfortable and wish we could have stayed longer. Definately on my list of hotels I would stay in again. Enjoy!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Luxury in a Touristy Location"
Although I only stayed for one night, I was extremely impressed with the quality of this hotel. This trip to NY was for business reasons, and because of company budget considerations and location of events, I had to switch to three different hotels within 5 days. The Michelangelo was by far the best of the three. I found a great price for our stay here […] through Hotels.com and couldn't be more pleased with the size and comfort of the room. "In the heart of the Theater District"
Very convenient location for walking to lots of venues, theaters, Times Square, Grand Central Station, etc. Bed was extremely comfortable. "Convenient, clean, comfy"
Great hotel. Great location. Because of weather I was forced to stay in NYC an extra night. Although the hotel manager would give me the room for an extra night, he wanted to charge me nearly twice the price I had paid for the other four nights. He wouldn't budge. I had to move to another hotel. Otherwise, an enjoyable stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Way better than I expected!"
For the price, I was expecting an average hotel. But this place far exceeded my expectations! Great service.Courteous staff. Beautiful interior and room. Would return in a heartbeat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We really enjoy staying at the Michaelangelo. Always our choice when we come to the city. However, this time I found that the exercise room had not fresh apples, no cups or water refilled outside the room. Also the Tuscan Room that offers free coffee should not, it was not drinkable and cutup pieces of bagel were served without any spreads to put on […] it. Everything else was perfect. "Luxurious, cozy, quiet hotel but service slipping!"
This was my 10th stay at The Michelangelo. I'm a repeat guest due to the location, luxury, and service. The 55 gallon bathtubs are amazing and the rooms are impeccably kept. My only concern is that the service is seriously slipping! I arrived in the freezing cold and had to not only open the door myself but drag my own luggage to the check-in counter […] as the doormen were talking at the front desk. They have a heated station by the door so one of them should be there. Requested room type wasn't given due to a due to a mistake by the staff I'd spoken with prior to my arrival. Disappointing--as this has never happened before. Furthermore, I requested turndown service at 7:30 pm with ice-- never happened. As little at it seems, one of the charms of this lovely hotel was that in the past I never even had to ask for turndown service. I'd return to my room with the bed turned down, a small chocolate for the pillow, a weather prediction for the next day, and beautiful classical music lightly playing on the radio. This 5 minute gesture always meant so much to me but this time, even after requesting it, it didn't happen. I also had to call 3x to get someone to pick up the phone for room service. Once arrived, the service was lovely, portions large, and the quality of the food was stellar---worth the standard over-the-top room service cost. I sincerely hope that management returns the Michelangelo to its former state of stellar service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
