Wow. When we checked in the staff handed us microwave popcorn for an evening snack. Told us we would want to be sure to come to breakfast as it was quite good. It was the best breakfast I have ever had at any motel. He gave us a list of area restaurants that gave his customers discounts. We could not say enough about our stay at Travelodge. You could tell that the owners showed pride in their hotel. Things were clean, very orderly, the breakfast was great with all the selections. The outside grounds were maintained pristine. If we were to be in Florida in that area again, we would definitely stay at Travelodge again.

My friend and I stayed here because it was close to the Everglades and gliding trip we were going on. After we had to ck out early on a prepay the staff refunded our money on rest of stay. They were very friendly and helpful throughout stay.

Room was clean. I was thrilled to see wood floors. Minutes from the Keys with plenty of food choices close by. Saw the continental breakfast , usual selections, but we choose to eat elsewhere. I plan on staying here again, on my way down to the Keys. Nice place for the price.

Nothing fancy here. Stayed (1) night to cut down the drive from West Palm to Key West. The old stye pull up to your door motel. Room was clean, employees friendly and everything worked just fine. A good value for the money.

The Travelodge at Florida City is an old-style Florida motel, probably built about the 1950's. One story exterior corridor buildings separated from the reception lobby. There is a small pool that seemed well maintained, otherwise, no green space. The property is unfortunately located behind a large gas station, and so it is not an attractive entry. […] Overall, the hotel seemed well maintained, and the bed was good and the room was adequate. The breakfast did include some hot items, but not fruit other than juice. Although this seems to be a busy time in the area, I felt the price was higher than it should be for this type of accommodation. The property should have been paid for decades ago! The hectic location along US 1 includes a variety of businesses. If I was in the area again, I would look for an alterative at this price- this was a one-night stop to see the Everglades and head to the Keys. Read more

Hotel rooms were nice, continental breakfast was good. one complaint was that the carpets in the room seemed dirty. After walking around for a little bit with no shoes are feet were filthy. For the price I would stay there again.

This hotel is good for one night stay. We stayed there for two nights on the way for Key West. its only 122 miles from this hotel.In our room towels were not washed right. We were disappointed and won't return.. The management was reroofing the section of the motel where our room was located , our parking space was blocked and workers were scraping and hammering continually during our 4-day prepaid stay. The manager, though apologetic, told us no other room was available. The room's carpeting was grimy, the furniture […] was worn and shabby and the door paint was chipped. There was no grab bar in the shower. Clean towels and washcloths were provided when the room was made up, and the plumbing and electric outlets worked during our stay. Excellent hotel, probably the best hotel in the country that I have stayed at for the price. Cleanliness and maintenance are phenominal. Park at your door, even have door stops on the door so when its nice out you can have fresh air in your room. Chairs to sit outside everywhere and always clean.

A Travelodge is not a top tier hotel. That being said, this particular hotel is well run with lots of nice little amenities. It is pretty clean and the breakfast is nice. Although this hotel isn't in the most picturesque town on the planet it is a great location for easy access to the Southeast corner of the Everglades (Flamingo), Biscayne Bay, and the Keys. The hotel pool is fine by my teenage son's standards, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the front office staff is helpful, friendly and readily accessible. I will say the Air Conditioning unit was loud and we never mastered it -- we were either freezing or hot.
