Traveling with two little kids (5 & 1), we had the junior suite. It was very clean and spacious (paris hotels are notorious for small rooms). Staff were very accomodating, friendly and helpful. Location is great with the RER and metro right outside doorsteps. Starbucks just outside, two malls within blocks and a good shopping area while most major sites are within 30 minute walking. Reccomend.

The room was a little small but had twin beds, desk, chair, closet, and luggage stand. The windows opened and there was a fan available in the room if needed. Good cafes in the neighborhood. Metro station very close. We would use this hotel again.

This was our second stay at Hotel de Vendome and it topped the excellent experience that we enjoyed in November 2010. We were upgraded to a corner deluxe suite for an anniversary trip and welcomed with red rose petals in the room. Every detail of the hotel is first class with a very warm and friendly staff. Breakfast in the room every morning was a luxury followed by a walk in the Tuileries just a block from the hotel. If you're looking for the ultimate elegant boutique Parisian hotel, then you'll find it here. We'll be coming back to this one again. Bon voyage.

Good service and a decent area, very convinent location with a market of all food and goods! 2 mins walk from metro! Just a little far from center paris! Good service and polite reception!

The hotel is fantastic in location, comfort, style, looks and service. It's wifi was bad and it kept expiring on me. The AC was turned off due to cold weather, but the fan circulation was also cut off. This made the room a little stuffy.
"Wonderful stay at Hotel L'Observatoire Luxembourg"
We just spent 5 nights at Hotel L'O Luxembourg and really enjoyed our stay. The room was small, as are most Paris hotel rooms, but care was taken to maximize the space. The hotel was just renovated with a sophisticated Fornasetti theme and it works beautifully. Definitely a boutique feel without being at all fussy. In addition, the hotel is very well-located, […] close to Metro stops, an RER station (train to/from airport and other places), many stores and restaurants. We walked almost everywhere and the neighborhood seemed quite safe even at night. I also appreciated the help and attention we received from the concierges, all of whom were very nice. Mustafa, in particular, went out of his way to locate our wayward airport shuttle van the morning we left. As we were waiting, I also overheard him finding hotel accommodations for a couple who had to extend their stay because a family member travelling with them had been hospitalized. Hotel L'O L was booked, so he found them another place to stay on. The only negative I can think of is that I'm virtually certain a pair of shoes disappeared from my luggage while we were there. It's pointless to speculate and I'm not accusing anyone, but I think I'll go back to my practice of unpacking little and locking the rest in my suitcase when I leave the room. That said, I would gladly return to Hotel L'O Luxembourg next time I'm in Paris. Read more

"Great location and value for the money"
The Observatoire is right across from the south exit of the RER B line that comes from CDG--VERY convenient for transit to other transfer points. Staff was always kind and helpful. Our room itself was definitely tiny, and that was anticipated. You really had to coordinate how to maneuver around the bed. But the bath was surprisingly modern and roomy. […] Complimentary WiFi was quick on the download, but sluggish on uploading, but it saved us money in data costs for certain. Restaurants, shops, and the great Luxembourg Gardens were all right there, and several main attractions were an easy extended walk if you don't take the Metro. Not knowing the other hotels well, if I went back to Paris, I'd easily consider the Observatoire again. Read more

Great location, right by RER stop, good neighborhood, short walk to pantheon and Notre Dame Cathedral. Friendly staff. Room is small but clean. Would stay their again.
"Hotel Luxemboug Observatoire: well situated"
Very nicely situated on the main rail line from CDG airport and the Gare du Nord. Helpful staff. The room, however was really tiny, with a minute shower stall. The windows were soundproofed, and those on the back have a view of a nice garden belonging to a nearby school.

Nice hotel, well situated, clean rooms, double glazed to keep out noise of Boulevard St Michel. Very close (50m) to RER and just across the road from Jardins de Luxembourg. Staff polite and helpful. We spent 3 nights at this hotel and used it as a base for exploring Paris. It is a 20 minute walk to the Seine and Notre Dame and the RER (B line) is about 20 metres from the hotel. So navigation from the hotel was easy. Only experienced the reception staff as we were out all day and evening but they were friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel […] was clean but a little basic y many UK standards - but the if you're in Paris you're not spending the day in a hotel - are you! Rooms could benefit from a kettle as your morning cuppa had to wait until you were going out! The attached bistro appeared to be ok but closes about 8pm - so if you want a beer later, make sure you have one before leaving Paris centre! There are hundreds of hotels in Paris and this one was perfectly adequate for what we wanted - would I stay again - quite probably (but I'd take a travel kettle!) Read more

Our stay the Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg was very enjoyable. The location was excellent - easy to find on the well lit main road, right next to the RER underground station and a stones throw away from Luxembourg Gardens and Latin Quarter with a plethora of cafes, bars etc nearby. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and were available […] 24 hours a day to provide assistance. The rooms were reasonably sized (for Paris!), comfortable and clean. A really comfortable small hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and well designed providing all the comforts after much walking round the streets of Paris. There is even a kettle and biscuits provided! Unusual for France and very much appreciated. As a female visiting Paris on her own for business, the hotel was very relaxing with just the right level […] of service to make you feel relaxed, without invading your privacy. Breakfast was lovely- fresh fruit salad, hams, cheeses, with beautiful bread and baguette.There was the option to sit in the adjoining cafe and look out onto the street and watch the students & lecturers heading into the Sorbonne university. Great people watching when you are eating solo! The hotel is only a few minutes from the Luxembourg station which has a direct link to CDG airport which is great. The surrounding streets are very safe to walk round at night and there is plenty to see if you fancy a walk after dinner on your own! Very convenient location if you can walk a lot. Because it is 1 or 2 mins from RER station, and 10-15 mins to St.Germain Des-pres, Notre Dame by walk. We go to Paris every month and stay somewhere different on most trips. When we arrived at this hotel I was very excited as it is a lovely hotel and close to the Luxembourg gardens which I love. The problem is that the RER passes underneath this hotel every 15mins. and you can feel the vibrations, so if you are a light sleeper it will be a problem. We […] were on the 1st floor. "Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg, perfekt til Pariser"
Et dejligt hotel, med kun få minusser. Ligger på B. Saint Michel med en del trafik, men med lukkede vinduer er det ok. Små, men lækre værelser, fint badeværelse, det hele nyindrettet. Morgenmaden er for dyr og ikke noget at skrive hjem om.

"Hotel Observatoire - Prisvärt i Paris & toppenläge"
Min man och jag var jättenöjda efter en helg på det här hotellet. Rummen är rena och fräscha (möjligen lite små, som alltid i Paris) Lite oväsen från gatan - ta med öronproppar om ni är känsliga. Hotellet ligger precis vid Park Luxembourg men 50m till RER och promenadavstånd till Notre Dame, Les Marais och många andra sevärdheter. Personalen var jättetrevlig […] och pratade bra engelska. Bra frukost (ingår inte och var möjligen lite dyr men inte dyrare än om man skulle gå ut och äta den) som serveras i den bredvidliggande Bistron där man satt och tittade ut över morgonrusningen på gatan. Perfekt läge i lugnt område ca 15 minuters promenad från Notre Dame och nära de latinska kvarteren. Rummet var väldigt litet men kändes fräscht och hade jättebekväma sängar och trevlig utsikt mot en park. Toppen med AC, kyslkåp och värdebox. Mycket trevlig och engelsktalande personal. Pendeltåget från flygplatsen (CDG) stannar ca 50m från hotellet och […] busshållplats finns precis framför entrén. Mycket nära hotellet ligger en matbutik där vi köpte frukost för att slippa den dyra varianten på hotellet. Vi skulle lätt boka samma hotell igen. Read more

"Quality certain, satisfaction guaranteed"
The location is central at 100m from RER station: you can go from there anywhere in Paris. We did it mostly by walking. The reception was excellent. The room was new and fresh. WIFI works perfectly. Even the TV channels offer was very good. Next times, my first choice will be this hotel.

The hotel is right by an RER/Metro station, which makes it very convenient, and very close to all the action in Quartier Latin. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is undergoing renovation, and when they finish it will be a gem.
