good hotel for a good priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked a non-smoking hotel room, but the room reeked of smoke. The bed was deceiving, it looked nice at first, then taking a closer look, there were stains all over the sheets. I had trouble sleeping because I was paranoid of the possibility of bed bugs. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room. I would never recommend someone staying here. I […] couldn't wait to leave. The hotel could move the smoking pot away from the front door of room.??????? I walked around the hotel area and that seemed to be the only one. Right outside our door by the ice and pop machine. I had asked for a non smoking room, via hotel .com. It was apparent that is where the smokers gather. Thank goodness it was raining and limited the gatherings. […] All in all it is what it is. A Budget Hotel. I would recommend it for a short stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My accommodations were very nice … I was very satisfied.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed here 3 years ago and it wasn't a good experience. It was much improved this time. The room was really clean, the staff was helpful, we were very happy. Not a 5 star hotel, but a great value for the money. The pet fee was only $10, a bargain. We will be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Price, Clean Rooms but a little run-down"
My non-smoking room smelled heavily of smoke but the desk manager quickly offered to put me in another room. There seemed to be a lot of people outside smoking, and a lot of butts on the worn outdoor carpets. The abandoned restaurant in the the parking lot was also a minus to the overall feel of the place. But the price was very good and only two minutes […] from West Virginia University. The manager was very helpful and friendly, the lobby and rooms were clean and the free breakfast was quite adequate. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Mylan Park"
Staff was very friendly. Area available for bikers to wash their rides before and after Mountainfest. Refrigerator and microwave in the room as well. Quality of bath towels wasn't the best and A/C unit stuggled to cool the room even when set in the mid-60's. Fortunately, the bed was close to the unit. Cheap hotel for a cheap price, room was clean, bed linens & pillows were well worn. Room hinted of cigarette smoke but was bearable. OK for a night or two if your not pickey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel close to WVU campus"
This hotel was perfect for our stay. We were visiting my niece at WVU and it was very close to campus. There some restaurants and stores within walking distance. All in all, a great value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were fine. The exterior carpet was very dirty. We had requested a ground floor room and close to the party we were traveling with. We were on the second floor and oposite side of the hotel. At check in I was told - Sorry, that's all we have. It made it very difficult as we were traveling with a dog and steps are hard for myself to to use.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The first thing I noticed was how terrible the room smelled. It was supposed to be a smoke free facility but the smell of cigarettes was nauseating. The wifi didn't work and the beds were some of the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Needs some updating"
The hotel needs some maintenance as it was a little run down. The room was clean, no issues with that. Staff was pleasant at check in and check out. It was very noisy outside of our room. There were a lot of truck drivers and construction workers staying there who were up very early, starting their trucks between 4-5am right outside of my room. This […] noise was constant for most of the morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Seems like a shelter for displaced people. A lot of folks hanging out on the balcony smoking. Didn't feel overly safe and the room is tired, needs some maintenance. The bed sagged in the middle but it did seem clean and the staff was friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fine for short stay"
Using hotels.com made check in/out very quick and easy. The staff was courteous and the room appeared to be in good condition. It was free of smells or any other adverse status. The continental breakfast was limited but no complaints considering it was free.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A fine place to stay"
We chose this hotel because of its easy access to the highway. We found everything about this site to be just right for us. The room was spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever had. The staff was very nice and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Superior Customer Service"
The room was nice and clean. We got upgraded bc their last king bed room had a broken sink, so they gave us the jacuzzi suite. Every person who worked the front desk went above and beyond to help us - absolutely incredible customer service! I will definitely stay here again if I need a room in Morgantown!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to WVU Coliseum"
It was clean and comfortable and in a convenient location. Beds were comfortable with clean bedding. Well worth the price we paid. Only cons were the usual knuckleheads who decided to convene a gabfest right outside our room till 3:30 in the morning. And while there is free WiFi, I kept getting kicked off every three minutes or so.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Only thing disappointed in was the breakfast. Would have liked some yogurt and fruit options. Also waffles appeared to be frozen/defrosted Eggo waffles.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Affordable and convenient"
Hotel was very affordable for a one night stay... Very convenient for the location in reference to the area and shopping were we doing. Hard to get in and out of the parking lot during rush hour, the only draw back... Many good resturants located close by...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Only problem was that we were given a room that had a thin connecting door to the room next door so we could hear everything they were saying. The hotel was full so we couldn't switch rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is an excellent budget motel. My only complaints were the WIFI was not working in my area, and the shower hot water was lukewarm. The sink hot water was hot but not the shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed one night here and would stay again. Hotel staff was very kind, room was great for one night. Hotel is a little on the older side, but all in all it was a pleasant experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was really comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of space to move around in. The free continental breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Way better than the other budget hotels in Morgantown. Not fancy, needs some minor maintenance, but overall a clean, quiet and comfortable stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location; friendly staff. Only complaint was that the place was packed (It was a WVU football weekend) - there must have been 3 - 4 cars per room - and parking was scarce. Our room was in back of hotel and Saturday night we had to park in front by the Shoney's. No biggie just annoying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Overnight stay"
Great place for a quick overnight stay. Room seemed to be renovated. Quite clean but has a bit of a smell probably from the carpet, but you get used to it quickly and not notice it. Had a strong shower head/pressure for shower. Wifi was good. AM breakfast was basic with a good variety. Front desk was friendly. Hotel was not so far from the highway, […] there are a few food options between it and the hotel. Good value for the price I paid. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"It's a place to stay... but not alone"
I chose this property because it was cheap, pet friendly and other reviews had indicated that it was safe. I was traveling alone and safety is my primary concern. Also, they had the lowest cost for having a pet as well. This is not a property I would stay at again by myself. To begin with, it is set back off the road and the parking lot is rather dark. There is an abandoned building that shares the parking lot as well which just adds to the suspicious nature of the place. several of the first floor rooms (mine included) have doors that open into and "alley" which is basically a pass thru from the front parking lot to the back. It was very well lit but still, out of sight from the street, the front office and most of the parking lot. I arrived around 10pm. The young man behind the desk ( and I mean YOUNG- maybe 18) was very nice and check in was quick. As I walked to my room, I noticed a group of young college aged men in the pack parking lot standing around and it appeared they were drinking beer. My room was in that alley as I described and had HUGE windows that looked out into the alley. The drapes did not close completely so I had to use the floor lamp pressed up against it to hold them completely shut The room was clean but had sort of a strange odor. Not bad... like old cleaning products. The bed was King sized, had LOTS of pillows and was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean except for the underside of the tub faucet which was caked with dried up cleaning products (at least I HOPE that what it was). After I had moved in I noticed another door in the room. It was fairly narrow so I thought it was a closet. Much to my surprise it turned out to be an adjoining door to the next room. That would not have bothered me except the only locking mechanism was the doorknob lock. There really should be a dead bolt on adjoining doors. So I wedged the desk chair under it. The fridge was a bit dirty and the TV quality wasn't that great but that didn't really bother me much. There were only two bath towels in the room and I generally need three. So I made the trip (with my dog) back to the front office to request towels. The young man at the desk said he would bring them to me and it was only about 15 minutes before he did (who was manning the desk in the meantime????) The hotel says it is pet friendly but there was no designated area for my dog to relieve himself and as I said, the parking lot was VERY dark. I was very uncomfortable walking him that late at night. Fortunately there was a very nice couple staying there sitting outside their room who kept me company. I went to bed and was woken up in the middle of the night by a shouting match going on in the parking lot. Not exactly sure what was going on but I wasn't about to go look either. Headed down to the breakfast in the office in the morning. Not impressive. Cereal, Danish, bread products, coffee, juice and some frozen breakfast sandwiches available for microwaving. I was a bit annoyed because the desk clerk would not allow me to bring my dog in. It was 6AM and nobody else was there. Plus, their policy says not to leave pet unattended in the room... so where was I supposed to put him while I got my breakfast?? (I took him back to the room anyway) Overall, it was a clean place to stay for the night and served it's purpose. However, I do NOT recommend it as a place a woman should stay alone. And if you don't need a pet friendly place, there are other choices in town in a similar price range. The property is in bad need updating. it looks like the building I was in was formally a store and they just added partitions to make rooms. The furniture is older, the ceiling and wallpaper show a lot of wear and my room had a LOT of cobwebs in the corners that just made the whole place look dingy. The abandoned building in the parking lot looks like it might have been a restaurant at one time. They should either use it (have that be the office and breakfast room) or tear it down. It's creepy. I don't know what the other rooms are like but if you choose to stay there: 1. Ask for a room in the front of the building on the second floor and one with no adjoin rooms. 2. Arrive during daylight.... it's just creepy there...

no frill, no fuss no bother. exactly what one would expect for a $90 a night room. Clean, outdated, comfortable. I've been in $400 a night rooms where the carpets were sticky, the cleaning in the bathrooms only reached to the shoulder. I've stayed several times and get exactly what I paid for no frill, no fuss, no bother.

Parking lot needs repair. The entrance needs better lighting. .staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean but outdated. This motel is close to the basketball complex for WVU. Several eateries are nearby.
"Poor customer service"

For the past six months I've been staying here once a week. The rooms are ok but most do need a little work. I have noticed that some of the rooms are getting flat screen tvs. In my option the rooms are over priced, but they are the cheapest in the area. Today I called to make a reservation for next week the lady who answered the phone (Donna) knew who I was and very rudely told me that because there was a football game today and she was having to check people in and there were 61,000 people in town she could not make my reservation. Wish there was somewhere else in town to stay.

Was working up the road so was convienant. Prices for room are ridiculous even at a corporate rate. The room service was ok @ best typical Indian ran hotel. Continental breakfast was so so. The guy who works nights at the desk needs ppl skills.
"You can do better"

I spent one night here while driving down to South Carolina from Toronto. I've stayed at quite a few hotels and motels of various quality and this was probably the worst/saddest place I've ever been to. For the price, I guess you can't expect much but surely there's better options nearby. The best part about this place as that it was close to the highway, which made it easy to get in and out of Morgantown as fast as humanly possible.
"Wasn't great but an okay place to crash"
06/30/14 JoeMc59 Normal, Illinois
When I reserved the room I was told that if I wanted to cancel I would have to call 24 hours in advance, which seems inordinately long. My first impression of the place is that it looks rather run down. Parking lot has some bumps and there's an out-of-business restaurant out front. Front desk was quick and friendly enough. The room smelled a little musty at first but within a few minutes I hardly noticed it again, and otherwise was clean and well furnished. Some noise filtered in from outside, not enough to keep me awake. I had trouble arranging the curtains in a way that passersby couldn't see around the edges and was uncomfortable being undressed in the room. Breakfast was just a few things like muffins and cereal. I'm on the fence about whether I'd stay there again if I were in the area.
"Non-smoking room smells like cigarette smoke"
06/15/14 12Karen31 Martinsville, Virginia
When we arrived the desk clerk was missing and I had to wait for 15 minutes. The place is very noisy late at night and early in the morning, so don't plan on getting any sleep. My biggest complaint is that the "non-smoking room" smelled/stunk like a cigarette smoker's paradise! The the bedding and carpet had cigarette burns. The room stunk and I didn't feel that the room was clean. My luggage now stinks like cigarette smoke! The breakfast was better than nothing.

This hotel is a basic 'stay and go' hotel. On this particular occasion, the hotel was housing lots of contract workers on long term reservations. Unfortunately, some of the long-term guests did not get the word that check-out was required over the weekend. What a mess. This was not necessarily the fault of the staff or hotel. Just the way it is. The hotel is pet friendly and does have some rooms which smell of smoke. I'm sure many hotels in the area have the same problem--it's not just this one. This is a drive-up style hotel with parking immediately outside the front door of the room. This is not my favorite style of hotel/motel, but it is what it is. If you're a light sleeper, this type of hotel/motel is not for you. The rate was low, the staff did their best with a tough situation. I stayed here because of the pet-friendly policy. If you can afford it, I would recommend staying at a 3 star or better hotel in the area--if possible. Under the category of "you get what you pay for," this hotel was cheap, available and pet friendly. Staff was helpful, food was available. Easily accessible from ground floor.
"meets basic needs"

I read the reviews on this place beforehand as it was halfway stopping point on map on our way home.I was trying to save money; I guess $75 is now a cheaper price for a room these days. I made a reservation enroute as we got in late. The parking lot was kinda depressing; an old vacant Shoney's next door and noisey traffic on road in front. Office entrance had nice well maintained flowers in pots. The office was clean..girl at desk was not friendly when I checked in. Did not smile or offer any conversation. Next morning however, there was a young man on duty that was very nice and made up for her lack of attention. The room was very clean; bed comfortable and shower worked fine. No frills, but again...clean. Next morning we had a cereal and bagel and decent coffee before leaving. Maybe I have watched too many episodes of "Hotel Impossible" but it would be nice (and inexpensive) to put up some local art work (it is a college town) or photos of the local history to add some interest in the lobby. My husband also wondered why only one small table with 2 chairs for guests and would have liked to have had a waffle, but no sugar free syrup available for diabetics.
