"Great Location"
Ideal for an overnight stay. Good value for the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for a quick stay!"
The hotel over all was nice very quiet and clean. The surrounding was a little bad but it is Los Angeles. The hollywood stars are literaly steps away theres many store and quick entertainment. The only problem i had with the room was i found a tick in the dresser and under our sheets and pillow covers on one bed we slept on the other bed because it […] was so late by the time we noticed. other than that it wasnt so bad. "Meh."
The photos of this hotel are outdated. Although it appears to be trendy and cute, the rooms are dark and dingy. There was no vent in the bathroom. It took forever for the shower steam to air out and then it made the rest of the room stuffy. There were no light bulbs in the bedside lamps. This is not much better than the shady motels you see around […] LA. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"EXCELLENT STAY!"
The room was very clean, NO CARPET which I loved and the location was perfect; only a couple blocks away from the freeway and all of the main attractions of the Hollywood BLVD. Would definatly stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was ok"
The hotel is ok,but its location is too close to the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Dixie Hollywood Hi Berhane! Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts about the hotel. I am glad that you thought the hotel was ok for your standards. As long as you were not disappointed we feel like we have succeeded. As per the location, it does have its pros and con. We are located on Hollywood Blvd. This is what makes us special...You walk out of your door and you are on the most famous Blvd in the world. It's a busy street, but Hollywood is all about being live with the action! Thank you for taking the time to review us!
"Waiting for the Hot Water"
If this was a remodel maybe thay had not reached our room yet. It felt like a Motel 6 not a 3 star Hotel. We were very disappointed. They blocked off the parking lot sometime during the night probably for security luckily we were able to get out for our early morning meeting by where we parked. Parking lot was not condusive to our large PU or anyones […] large SUV. Waiting for hot water. We ran the water facet for at least 15 minutes before the warm water finally kicked in. We joked it must have been piped in from the hotel 3 doors down. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Dixie Hollywood Hi Susan! Awww it breaks my heart to hear about your experience and disappointed. That's not who we strive to be. Everyday we work towards improving the quality and standards of our hotel. As per the parking, we offer free parking (one of the only hotels in Hollywood to do so, usually it costs $20 per day) therefore we cannot guaranteed large open spots. When you stayed with us the remodel was just wrapping up, unfortunately you may have seen the tail end of it. I am sorry for this. I've looked into the hot water with our engineering department. We've maintained all our equipment and have not have any complaints since. We want to get you to come back again so that you can truly experience how amazing we really are! I will personally guarantee a better experience.

"Great hotel for a layover"
There was a bit if an odor when we initially entered the room, but virtually imperceptible after a couple of minutes. The water in the bathroom never got hot. Not even warm. It just wasn't cold. Floors were a little sticky, had to keep reminding my nine year old to keep his flip flops on. Nice tv and satellite. Microwave and refrigerator helpful. Towels […] seemed clean but dingy looking, as if they did not use bleach. Was a okay, inexpensive layover for the Parade of Roses. In the words of my nine year old upon entire the room... "I guess it's not that bad!" This was his first of many hotel stays where the room opened directly to the outside and not an inside hallway. If I were on a real vacation staying longer than overnight, would probably choose somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Dixie Hollywood Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for your feedback. We have taken everything you wrote and have taken major action with our housekeeping department. We were in the middle of a renovation, so unfortunately you may have received a bit of residue from the transition. I see that you are local. I hope that you will give us another chance to prove to you the quality and service we strive to provide. I will personally guarantee your five star satisfaction. We hope to see you return in the near future again!
"Nice quiet clean and resonably priced."

Response by The Dixie Hollywood Hi Tommy! Thanks for providing us with your feedback. I love hearing about how the staff was accommodating and friendly to you. They are a group of wonderful local talent who really go above and beyond my expectations when it comes to customer service. And YES! we are right next door to the metro that take you any and everywhere you want to go in Hollywood/Los Angeles. We hope you come and stay with us the next time you are in town. "Decent location to things, but..."
This is fine if you want "very basic motel". It was clean and decent enough for a one night stay. Super-close to Griffith Observatory. (Go left out of the parking lot and right at the first corner. It's right up the street on your left) Close to Walk of Fame, etc. (Left out of the lot down a couple miles) If you love Thai food, that's a plus, since […] it's located in ThaiTown with lots of good restaurants from which to choose. "Not impressed"
Stains on sheets, curtains and mattress (looked like a blood stain), no mattress cover, just a thin sheet over the mattress. Hair all over bed, fridge didn't work. Mildew in shower. Overall not impressed. Convenient location off freeway, Starbucks across the street, but that's the only piece of positive news about the hotel. Super noisy at night, lots […] of sirens. "On its way to being something great"
I like renovated motor lodges so I picked this hotel while in L.A. on business. The location was good for easy access to freeways and I also took the metro to meet a friend downtown. Good sized rooms and the kitchenette came in handy. I hope they continue with the renovations and work on the bathrooms. "A decent room at bargain rates."
For the price, the room held little perks that I hadn't seen in other, more expensive hotels. Things like extra outlets, a decent amount of space, a kitchenette and even a travel iron. Room was well kept and clean. Decently quiet. Staff was friendly and attentive. The place even had some charm to it with hand done artwork and a swimming pool. Although, […] the towels felt cheap and were frayed. If anything was bad about it, it would have to be the surrounding neighborhood. It certainly wouldn't be the safest place to take a walk, at night. Also, the streets were crowded with vehicles, made it a bit difficult to drive in and out of the place at most times. Still, it's one of the better bargains in all of Hollywood. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"It's East Hollywood and fine for its price..."
They've obviously tried to turn this Days Inn into a Boutique hotel that is moderately priced. It has cute features (the Hollywood theme, the very "The Standard" lobby). But they are obviously very concerned about extra guests in the rooms and late check outs. It is obviously not their fault that 4 LAPD cars and an ambulance showed up on my first morning […] there for an OD'd customer. But it was truly Southland with the cops with guns out breaking into another room to find a culprit of some sort. Might stay there again but they really cut corners in making the rooms nice (paper cups and not even plastic cups for example...) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Dixie Hollywood Hmmm...so this is an interesting review :) Look I'm not going to beat around bush. This is Hollywood and the most eclectic people in the world are drawn to this city. Whether you are at a 5 star hotel or 1 star hotel you will find the characters of Hollywood EVERYWHERE! Things like this happen once in a blue moon so I'm not going to deny it, but rather apologize that the blue moon appeared during the time you were staying with us. Come back...I promise you will have a better experience without any Hollywood action drama. I'll personally guarantee it (unless there is a blue moon)!! :)

"OK motel"
Convenient location, but could have been cleaner. Tricky as it is a Days Inn with name changed.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel with good service. Check in was super quick and lobby and rooms were very clean. Nicer than other hotels at similar price. Would highly recommend this hotel to others. Manager was sure to keep guests quiet, we stayed here for a big music event in town and when everyone was returning in the wee hours the manager was speaking to guests warning […] to keep quiet or he would kick them out -- maybe inconvenient to those wanting to keep partying but it was a nice gesture also to be considerate of all guests staying at the hotel. "Dixie Review - 11/7/12"
Hair on bathroom floor, sink was dirty. Room very scuffed up, scratches on upholstery, etc. Holes in wall behind tv. For only being open 6 months (and apparently renovated at that time), not a good sign. Somewhat of a noisy area in general, and you can hear lots of outside noise from other guests (kids running up and down hall, people walking up and […] downstairs, etc.) The staff however was very pleasant, from front desk to engineering (had problem with TV, he came and fixed it right away). "Only book w/travel sites that require prepayment"
They had an issue with their system apparently with regards to two sites that booked them, one was one that did not require prepay and one was expedia which obviously does. Their system went down and we had priority because we already paid but they had to turn away multiple guests who were already under the impression they had a room. Their parking […] lot is minimal and they don't really have any satellite parking for their guests. Our room was not available when we checked in because some girl who was disputing room charges was still occupying it. Basically the overall impression was that this small hotel is not run very professionally, the rooms are nice for the price but not worth the possibility of not having the rooms that were reserved available. However they were very quick to accomodate us when we asked to be able to use their lobby restroom to get ready and to leave our luggage in the lobby until we got back, which is when they assured us the room would be ready. Two Couples occupied a double bed room and the acomodations for one night were well enough, a clean place to lay your head at night and a place to wash the next morning.
