"Great stay / but a hot room"
This was a quick overnight to the "big city" with a nice dinner out as a couple. Convenient location to fine dining and downtown. Great continental breakfast. Service was awesome. The one drawback is, on the 4th floor, our room was very warm even with the temperature set below 60 degrees. In the middle of the night we needed to open up the "balcony" […] door to let in cool air for about 20 minutes. If the temperature was better, this stay would have been perfect. Will request a lower level room if we stay again--hoping that it would be cooler. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Even better than before."
We've stayed at The Voyager before it was acquired by the Capt Cook Hotel, and it was great then. Now, it is even better! The free breakfast was excellent, and the service was perfect. We love the location, and the option to use the Health Club at the Capt Cook is nice. We love going to Fletcher's across the street or Snow City Cafe around the corner. […] The room was spacious and very quiet. It was nice to have a fridge, microwave and sink in the kitchenette. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well worth the price"
Pros: Relative to the other hotels in the area, very cheap rates. Great breakfast provided. Located in the downtown area. Cons: Somewhat rundown part of Anchorage. One member of the service staff did not know what they were doing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great first stop"
Greeted by a friendly desk clerk who checked us in quickly, gave us a choice of rooms, and recommendations for the surrounding area. We only stayed one night before continuing our Alaska adventure, but had we planned more nights in Anchorage, we would have definitely stayed longer. Will stay again when back in Anchorage, very short and easy drive from […] the airport. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place to stay in Anchorage"
We stayed at this hotel on two different occasions during a recent trip to Alaska. It was in a very convenient location, close to restaurants and shopping and a reasonable taxi-fare from the airport. The room and bathroom were spotless, with fluffy linens and comfortable beds. The lobby is small and the halls a little dingy but don't let that turn you […] off - a very comfortable night awaits you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"One bad thing"

The room was clean and large the bed was comfortable... But a hotel in Alaska with out working heat in the room is ridiculous!Genuine Expedia guest review
It was very quite, the staff was helpful, location was quick and easy to get to. The hotel room was better than I was anticipating on. Overall great services! I had a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My room was huge with kitchenette and sitting area! I especially liked the door that opened to outside for a nice cool Alaskan breeze. My television did not work when I checked in, but it took less than 5 minutes for someone from maintenance to repair it. They do not have a restaurant or room service, but Captain Cook Hotel is just across the street […] with a few dining choices. The free continental breakfast was fine. "Great hotel in prime location"
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Voyager Inn and especially enjoyed the extremely comfortable beds and quiet room. Also, the lady at the front desk was very hospitable and helpful. A surprise bonus was the fact that we were allowed to use the pool and hot tub in the Captain Cook Hotel right across the street. The location is right downtown, […] within walking distance of all the main attractions, which was very convenient for us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Unlike the rather shabby entrance and lobby area our room was modern, spacious, well appointed, very comfortable and clean. Apparently the hotel was taken over by the nearby Captain Cook Hotel and the rooms subsequently renovated. The lobby area is scheduled for modernization later. The location is perfect for access to the coastal trail for hiking and […] biking, just 2 blocks away. The Snow Cafe, just a block away is very good for breakfast and/or lunch and Orso, just 3 blocks away has a delightful bar and restaurant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice quiet location away from airport and noise."
Very relaxing stay, good continental breakfast,No complaint's.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were a little unsure considering the style of the outside, but the rooms were large, clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. This would be my top choice again considering the price and location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful hotel. Newly remodeled with extremely large rooms. Our room had a king size bed, kitchenette, table and chairs, very large flat screen, and all new furniture. The king size room was so large we had a roll away for a third person, but the room could have easily accommodated two roll away beds. The staff was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable […] of Anchorage. They had a free breakfast, but we slept in and did not use the breakfast service. They had a late check out of 2 pm which helped us with a late flight. Great price for downtown area. I would definitely stay in this hotel again!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great, Affordable Hotel"
This was a fantastic and affordable hotel. The staff were extremely accomodating and helpful. The free breakfast in the morning was above average in my opinion (especially considering it would cost $20 to get breakfast anywhere else in Anchorage). I would in no doubt stay here again if were to ever return to Anchorage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel! Friendly staff, spacious rooms, and within walking distance of every attraction in downtown Anchorage. It's the only place I will stay when I visit Alaska.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Hotel, best bed I slept in ever."
Other than the misunderstanding about airport transportation this hotel was beautiful, emaculate and quiet. All the comforts of home. ThanksGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Voyager has new ownership"
I arrived at the Voyager to find a notice saying it was closed and all guests were being accommodated in the Captain Cook hotel across the street. "A Real Deal"
I consistently stay at the Voyager when in Anchorage. Perfect location, rooms more spacious and comfortable than the overpriced Captain Cook across the street. Rooms have refrigerators, kitchen area with microwave oven (no stove -- but wasn't planning to cook anyway!)Genuine Expedia guest review

Very nice hotel in good location. Staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent location and big rooms. Kitchenette nice but no plates, cutlery or pots. Only coffee machine with coffe and cups. But overall its nice and confortable. "Very well located and inexpensive"
Firstly, my first and last names were switched and misspelled, so they could not find reservation at first, but that was resolved by a phone call. Our room on the third floor faced the Captain Cook Hotel (which also owns this Rodeway) and there was a constant noise of shuttles and buses, so we were unable to open our window. With the window closed, […] it was quiet. The blankets (two) had old cigarette holes, and the room smelled of cigarettes in spite of the No Smoking policy. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was large, a huge plus, and featured a kitchenette that we didn't use, but could be an asset. Limited continental breakfast was a plus. Good coffee provided to make in room. Good, free wi-fi, a huge plus. Free shuttle to airport, but make sure you tell them over and over what time you need it and request it a half hour before you actually need it. Also, we asked for a wake-up call and never got it (luckily I also set phone alarm). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything you need, and nothing you don't"
Service was always more than friendly and helpful, room was clean, spacious, and had a little kitchenette that was really convenient, even though I didn't use it much. Breakfast was a no-frills affair, but we didn't have much interest in sitting around the hotel in any case, and the options were just what you need for a travel breakfast. For something […] fancier, you could just go across the street. One thing that was slightly disappointing was the removal of the laundry facilities - I was lucky enough to use them before they were removed from the premises. "Large room, great location, helpful staff"
Great value and very helpful staff. Spent a short weekend in Anchorage and having the convenience of the airport shuttle, the continental breakfast, and the kitchenette were all greatly appreciated. The room was immaculate, even if a bit dated. We had a lovely stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was very convenient for Centre of Anchorage and staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was there. the self service breakfast could have more variety.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great downtown location."
Overall, pretty good. The biggest compliant is that the carpet in the room was filthy and needs replaced. The bathroom was clean, and the bed comfortable. The room is nice and large and it was great having a fridge and microwave.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Across the street from the Captain Cook Hotel"
Less expensive than the Captain Cook, and less luxurious, but fine. Not much to look at from the street but adequate. Nice room. Continental breakfast was a little skimpy but otherwise you need to pay around $13 for breakfast out. Helpful front desk staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel compared to other similarly priced"
Compared to some of the other similarly priced downtown Anchorage hotels, this one was the best. Fairly quiet, a small kitchen and friendly staff. Like all Anchorage hotels in summer, it is very expensive for what you get but the helpful staff more than made up for it. It was also much quiter at night as it is a little further away from the bars and […] majority of the traffic. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient location to central city friendly staff"
Comfy clean room really helpful staff walking distance to city centre an close to waterfrontGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved the large size of the room and having a kitchenette. They have free overnight parking right across the street, but you have to pay for daytime parking. The free breakfast is very limited, but better than nothing and the coffee was good. Wi-fi was decent, but unsecure. The free shuttle to the airport only runs on the hour, so be prepared if […] you have an early morning departure. No restaurant on site, but we recommend Fletchers across the street, and Snow City around the corner. The beautiful Coastal Trail is only two blocks away, too. "Inexpensive place to stay"
Overall A-rating for this place. Affordable, clean, and great downtown location.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was a great bargain. Nice hotel, friendly staff, same convenient downtown location as the big money hotels (actually across the street from the Captain Cook). It's an older hotel, but very clean, and the room included a kitchenette with microwave and fridge, and a very comfortable bed. The room was large and had a ceiling to floor window, I was […] on the 3rd floor and enjoyed lying in bed and looking down at the street and the water in the distance. You can buy a day pass to the Captain Cook fitness center, and that was really nice, too. After staying at several hotels in Anchorage I have finally found my "go to" hotel there. "Too warm -- in Alaska -- in the Winter"
Stayed for 4 nights in January 2013. I was there for business, and ordinarily I would rate this higher for a business hotel, although this is certainly a no frills spot. Pretty good location; very big room with kitchenette and bathroom with obviously new fixtures. Good work desk with free wifi, flat screen TV and couch that was a pullout bed. No one […] would mistake this for a new property, however. Walls, floors, etc obviously in need of upgrade; blankets had holes in it. continental breakfast was hard boiled eggs, white bread bagels, sweet rolls, instant cereal, juice from machine. Staff was friendly and attentive. BUT... there is a serious problem with the HVAC. Although there are thermostats in every room they appear to do nothing. First room was on the 4th floor. Therm set to 60, room was 80. Moved down to 2nd, and room hovered at 75; therm set to bottom (50). This was warmer than I like it, but at least bearable. Staff appeared not to know why this is, although they clearly knew it was the case. "The fourth floor tends to get a little warm". Very strange to have to open a window (20 degrees outside) to get the room cool enough to sleep in Alaska... in the winter. Might be Ok in another season, but I would never stay here again without knowing that the HVAC system had been replaced. Never seen anything like it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet, but hot"
I was worried about the location when I arrived in town...it was less than a block away from a newish bar that had been the location of a shooting the weekend before, and a couple of blocks from another bar that also had a shooting recently. However, I kept the booking, and was glad I did. The room was spacious with a large bed, couch, desk, flat screen […] TV, and kitchenette. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The hotel is within 2 blocks of a great running/biking path, and within walking distance of the Dena'ina convention center and downtown Anchorage. Guests have use (for a small fee) of the workout rooms/spa at the grand Cook hotel, directly across the street. On the downside: the fan in the bathroom sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. The room was very hot...I even opened the balcony door one night for a short period, even though it was November. I brought these concerns up to the staff, who seemed very receptive to fixing them (I asked that they not fix the fan while I was there, as I didn't want workers in the room during my stay). Overall though, the stay was very pleasant. I didn't hear any noises from my neighbors, either within the hotel or outside the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
