Overall, my stay was OK, but nothing great. The bathroom had some dirty boot prints on the floor. One counter was held up by a 2X4 frame and you could see the bare wood and screws that held it to the wall. When you looked at the walls, you could tell there was wallpaper there before and they just pulled off the wallpaper and painted over the residual […] glue. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed it. Almost to the point I may not use hotels.com again. Also it was not the distance your website claimed it was. Too expensive for what you got....hard beds, no bathtub and the sound on the tv didn't work.

This hotel seemed to get lower marks when I was booking it. These are unfair and unwarranted. For the price compared to the others in Bloomington I thought it was a good deal. Room was recently redone . Very clean. Comfortable bed. Manager was not particularly friendly and breakfast was what you expect. Minimal. Our stay was just fine.

This Hotel is a Gem! The rooms are modern and very clean, the beds are new and very comfortable, wide screen TV, big bathrooms, great service at front desk. I have paid much more for much less. You won't be disappointed. Right next to mall and CVS for shopping if needed. Gas station across the street Walking distance to south side of IU Campus.

We stayed for 2 nights while visiting the university and checking out downtown. The room was clearly old and a little shabby in places, but the bed was comfortable enough, the A/C and heat worked, the shower was hot, they provided a basic breakfast with decent-tasting coffee, and (most importantly) it was clean. This hotel is perfectly acceptable for the budget traveler. Within walking distance (20-30 min) from IU campus, near a great deal of cafes and smaller restaurants, as well as the mall. I stayed at the Travelodge while in Bloomington for a business training and I was very pleasantly surprised. The price was great, so I figured it would come with a catch. To my delight I found the beds were extremely comfortable, although quite high so it might be a challenge for children or short adults to get in. The room was clean and smelled fresh. Just because i gave 4-5 stars does not mean this is a 4-5 star place. But, for $55, I was very pleasantly surprised. I stayed here about 4 years ago and they've upgraded the rooms since, with granite in the bathrooms and counters, and big flat screen TVs. The Travelodge is located in a great place near the IU campus and across from the College Mall, so it's convenient to get around Bloomington. We've stayed at this property 4 times and were pleased to see the remodeling done to the bathroom and mattress/bedding. It is an older motel that they are trying to keep up to date. It's clean, house keeping was […] good, and the staff is friendly. So a good safe clean place to stay with many restaurants and stores nearby. If you are expecting higher end accommodations then stay at the IU Memorial Union, the Hilton Garden Inn, or Courtyard. We've stayed at those properties too and they are nice. We had adjoining rooms and the heat was not adjustable other than high (melt you) or low (room was not warm enough). There was a dial on the heater/ac that was supposed to adjust the temperature but it clearly didn't work. Room was too warm when we returned from the event we attended' turned heat to lower setting.
