"Nice stay and location in Gatlinburg"
My family and I booked the Clarion hotel for a last minute stay in Gatlinburg. We were pleasantly surprised with what we got in comparison to the other local hotels. We would stay here again. The location was also ideal.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very convenient to almost everything"
The hotel itself was good. I found it very odd, though, from the breakfast staff to only go ONCE for the hot food items such as fried eggs, hot cereal, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were just there for an overnight stay.it was an older hotel but we'll kept.the bathroom could have been a little cleaner but customer service at the front desk and at breakfast was GREAT.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is located at the end of the strip not in the center. I had the impresssion that it was in the middle of everthing. The coffee in the lobby was usually empty and if you did happened to get get a cup, there weren't any lids. You are only allowed one serving on the breakfast hot foods because you get a meal ticket that they punch once you get your […] serving...pretty cheap of them to do that considering they are one of the higher priced hotels. The front desk woman didnt seem to know about any of the surrounding attractions...asked a simple qs-if most shops open on sunday-she didnt know and didnt ask her coworkers. The indoor pool is actually in a seperate building so you have to walk outside to get there which really is not far, its in the middle of their parking lot, but when its snowy outside and the kids want to swim you would not want them walking back to the hotel wet. "Right on the strip"
Charges 15 dollars a day for resort fee which is a joke this is not a resort. It's just an okay hotel. Asked to get a room with a view they said they couldn't because I booked with Expedia.Genuine Expedia guest review

Nice clean room. Walking distance to everything in Gatlinburg. Have stayed before and will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this Hotel"
If your looking for a negative, there were a few cob-webs around the balcony area and a couple of lady bugs in one room. It's a very clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay and in walking distance to everything. The breakfast is just a bonus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is not disclosed that you will have to pay and extra $32 to the hotel when you check in-- what's up with that???? Also, the first day we were there we left that morning and did not return until approximately 5 o'clock in the afternoon to find that our room remained as we left it that morning. We had to go find the maid to ask for clean towels!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very pleased with our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Quiet Side of Gatlinburg"
I was wise for getting a suite, because the bedroom is isolated and can be closed off from the noise of the hotel. The fall weather made use of the fireplace a nightly pleasantry. We enjoyed our stay in Gatlinburg and plan on returning and when we do we will stay at Clarion in Gatlinburg.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good Would stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to activities and restaurants."
We had reserved a standard double room. The first room offered reeked of orange scented disinfectant. Looked at another room that reeked of cigarette smoke in a non-smoking hotel. The third room served the purpose but still had an odor about it. This hotel was rated as 4 star but I will say it ended up being and mediocre 1-1/2 star. It was well over […] priced. I will not stay at this particular hotel again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nicest hotel on the strip"
Room was clean and beds were nice. A little hard for my taste but my husband loves them. Gym was lacking unless you want to run on treadmill. Loved not having to pay for parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel in Gatlinburg"
Hotel was nice and had good parking. Never had to move our car.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. It was within a block of the National Park, many restaurants, entertainment and stores in downtown Gatlinburg. Very beautiful area.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Close to all the sights"
The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a balcony and free parking. It was very close to all the sights of downtown Gatlinburg. It had free breakfast that was hot and very good. We only stayed one night because we were in town for a wedding but it met all of our needs. Staff was friendly. There was a $15.00 resort fee charge per night but that […] was made very clear by hotels.com upon booking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed in the rate from Hotels.com"
Was surprised to learn that I had to pay an additional fee to the hotel upon check in. (Guess I didn't read all of the fine print.) So I learned that I could have gotten a better rate directly from Clarion using my AAA card.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"We will never go back!!!!"
To begin our experience, we were surprised when we checked in with an additional $15.00 per day "resort fee". I did go back to the Expedia page and find the resort fee posted in small letters at the very bottom of the page. When we asked what the "resort fee" covered, we were told it covers the WIFI, even though they advertised free WIFI. Besides, who […] doesn't have free WIFI these days. This place was no resort by any stretch of the imagination. When we tried to discuss this with the staff, they were very rude and unapologetic. The beds were rock hard. That may be a good thing for some folks, but not for us. When we asked about a room with softer mattresses we were told the entire hotel was remodeled 2 years ago and all mattresses were replaced then. Wallpaper was pealing off the walls and the carpet was buckled and coming loose from the floors and walls. We went 2 days without our room being cleaned. We figure it was payback for complaining about the $15.00 per day resort fee. The room smelled very, very musty. We had to go to the store and purchase an air freshener just to kill the smell enough that we could stay in the room. This was probably the worst hotel we have stayed in for a very long time. "Clarion in Gatlinburg TN"
The lobby of the hotel was very comfortable to relax in. Beverages were available all the time. Our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious and was a big bonus for our family. The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. Our credit card number was used on several websites and had to be cancelled. They let us know immediately […] when the new one was delivered. Gave us excellent dinner suggestions. The employees are at the top of the list on why we would come back. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel or our stay. "Not what I expected"
Was hit with an extra 15$ a night fee when I walked through the door, A/C tore up, tried to clean and repair it while we were in the room, very inconvienient. Replaced the A/C later while we were still in the room, waiting to get ready. Never really got cool even after that. Room was for 4 adults, were only given towels for three people. Just very inconvienient […] for what I was expecting from the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"High Resort Fee Not Included in Quoted Rate"
I was surprised by the high resort fee which was not included in the rate quoted. It was charged per room per day. The manager was rude when I questioned about this fee. She showed me the fine print on page 3 of the reservation and complained that only guests who booked through third-party vendors were not aware of this fee. The cancellation time was […] 48 hours which is longer than most other hotels. I feel that this is a deceptive behavior. I will not stay in this hotel or any hotel in the Choice hotel chain again. "Resort fee for what?"
The hotel was fine but was just a normal hotel, not a resort in any way, shape or form that I could see so why a resort fee. Just be honest and increase the nightly rate by the desired $15.Genuine Expedia guest review
Took my child to mountains and hotel room ac went out. Instead of a room change they made us wait till11:00 at night to fix it. Like I said never again will I stay with them.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clarion was good, but..."
The hotel stay was very good, but it didn't meet expectations relative to cost. The rooms were very clean, but weren't spacious. The pool size was a disappointment due its small size.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great everything provided for. I was able stay in same room when requested to stay additional night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was very helpful, the breakfast fair but pleasant, parking almost full at night. Located just a few feet from the Great Smoky Mountains Park, excellent location. I will definitely stay again with my family!Genuine Expedia guest review

"nice hotel in middle of gatlinburg"
Enjoyed our stay. Very close to everything in town. I will only say it is not worth an extra $15.00 resort fee. It was worth the $99.00 we paid but nothing more. Just my opinion.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice enough, but hidden fees"
This hotel was nice, but I didnt not like the $65.00 "resort fee" that we paid upon check in. When I asked this was to cover "amenities" . What amenities? Free parking (most hotels have that) free breakfast (ok, its not free if I have to pay for it) free wifi(again, not free if I have to pay for it) etc. But the hotel was nice and claean, people were […] friendly enough. It was on the main strip, but on the upper end, so it was a little out of the way, but the trrolly made stops there. Thre breakfast was typical, althoguht the last day it was very crowded and they were out of everything. Oh, get the made to order eggs - the ones on the bar were awful! (powdered?) Stayed here twice because of the location. Easy access to Pigeon Forge via Gatlinburg bypass. Walking distance to everything in Gatlinburg. Free parking, which is hard to come by in Gatlinburg. Delicious free breakfast with waffles, gravy and biscuit, eggs, home fries, grits, sausage, made to order omelette, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc! Only 2 complaints- […] Child safety latch only on one of three doors in the room and the hotel provides a pack n play instead of a crib. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel but starting to show its age."
The room was clean; breakfast each day was a benefit. The breakfast staff were shorthanded a person due to vacations and management did not feel the need to help thus the lines were extremely long each day. The tables were dirty and condiments were not filled however the staff were friendly and doing all they could. On day of arrival we discovered our […] refrigerator was not cooling about 10 pm. Contacted the front desk and they said they would send someone up the next morning. When we left for the day we notified the front desk and she said they would have someone check it. Upon return we found the thermostat returned to max and was still not cooling. We utilized our cooler and the ice machine for the rest of the week. Very disappointed with the Front desk staff and their customer service talents. Second time we've stayed here and were not notified of the $15.00 resort fee ahead of time, so our discount fee turned into a not so good deal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Limit on sausage"
2 pieces that are about 1 1/2" long. When I asked about it, this is the response I got. "Unfortunately before we put a limit on sausage per person people were taking advantage of that and eating more than we could keep stocked." I take it that former guests were eating 15 to 20 pieces each. Sad.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, helpful staff & friendly people"
Recently enjoyed celebrating my mom's 80th birthday with a "Girls' Weekend" at Gatlinburg. Took a chance on booking "sight unseen" online for our hotel. We couldn't have been more pleased with our selection! :) First of all the location is PERFECT being on the main drag, but not in the middle of all the action. All the attractions, shops & restaurants […] are just a short stroll away down the sidewalk. The Clarion is welcoming, clean & accommodating. Enjoyed not only the friendly staff, but our fellow patrons as well. The only negatives with our room were that the bathroom needs a fan & our closet door knob was missing. That's it! :) Yes, the breakfast omelet line needs some tweeking.....but other items are easily available. Be forwarned though that there is a $15/day resort fee collected at check in. But even with that, your stay will be sooo worth it! In surfing online & observing while walking around, I saw nothing that compared to our place. Don't forget to checkout the FREE wine tasting at Sugarland Cellars just across the street to your left. We had a SWEET time there as well! :) Also take a drive up into the mountains.... turning left out of the hotel while there. Beautiful places to pullover along the way for photos ops! We had a MOST special weekend to remember made pleasant by our stay at Clarion! :)))) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel....Great Location!"
Hotel was nice and clean....pool area was a little "iffy"! There were 4 of us in one double queen room and it was little cramped but not much to complain about. Beds were very comfortable and the free breakfast was a nice surprise! Excellent location right on the strip but on the quite end just before you enter the Smoky Mountains!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Nice Hotel - Great Breakfast"
Very nice hotel, all areas have been maintained well and were clean. Hotel provides free parking, which is great for Gatlinburg. Hotel is at one end of the main "strip" so was convenient for walking to the shops/shows at that end. Wonderful full breakfast - omelet station, biscuits & gravy, eggs. Booked through Hotels.com, but they did charge an extra […] fee when we got in. At that point, I was too tired to argue. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"excellent location, quality hotel"
Hotel was great. One of the best free breakfasts of any hotel I have stayed. Rooms were clean. Great location. Was within walking distance of downtown attractions and at the entrance to the Smoky Mountains park. Cleaning staff left hotel towels in the shape of animals for our children which were a big hit. The only negative I have is that the hot water […] at times was hard to regulate. Would go from cold to really hot. That is why the 4 on comfort. This is something the hotel needs to address. Otherwise I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
