We liked the stone outside facade of the building before entering. The lobby has wrought iron all around the periphery, reminiscent of New Orleans. Our... room was large, with a lovely sitting room with large flat TV. Bed was very comfortable with lovely bedding. Would not stay there again. Too many other fine hotels to choose from. Disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel or lack thereof. If you are a clean freak or even a moderate clean freak then this is not the place for you. Needs many cosmetic upgrades, too much to mention.

My stay was alright because it was a last min trip with me and my kids. The hotel location was great because everything was close by. I did not like the when I ask the guy at the checking did they have an extra bed he claim they did and that it was ten dollars rather than telling me that the couch was a pulled out bed. We went for a quick overnight to Savannah and were thrilled to find Oglethorpe Inn & Suites! It's only 15 minutes drive to the Historic District and everyone was friendly, the indoor courtyard is lovely for breakfast and it was so nice and clean. Will definitely stay there again!

We had a wonderful & relaxing visit! EVERY store and restaurant that we wanted to go to was right there! You couldn't get lost! It is located a block over from Abercorn St. which will take you all the way to River St. where we had a ball!

My boyfriend and I were only in Savannah for one night for a music event and stayed at the Oglethorpe; my first impression was not that great and I was soon proved right! The staff was rude, even ignoring a request we made for a cab to our event so we had to drive ourselves; the bed was extremely uncomfortable; the shower was dirty and the shower head […] sprayed in all directions leaving no real water pressure; we stayed in a "luxury" king suite, while the room was very spacious I didn't find anything luxurious about it and it is not convenient to the downtown area.... Overall the hotel is nice and it is easy to drive downtown from here. The staff is pleasant but don't ask for restaurant recommendations. They will push you towards supporting restaurants with coupons and ignore other options nearby.

After reading reviews about this hotel, we had high expectations. Some met, some not. I loved the rooms. The convenience and parking can't be beat. The bedding nice, and bed comfortable, but soft. Lots of lamps, plugs, and free wifi is fast. Kitchenette very easy to work in. But the room needed dusting. The whole building needs cleaning. Such a pretty […] place, but all windows (the elevator glass specifically) were filthy. The staff barely acknowledged us, when coming and going. Weird, given the posts here. We stayed 5 nights, and on 4th had to request at the front desk a second tiny bar of soap and little shampoo. Disappointed our housekeeper, Lorraine was the name on the tip envelope, couldn't see that we might need that? And odd that there was no matching conditioner. Had trouble getting our room made up on a few days. We used the kitchenette every day, but the counter was never wiped down, the trash that we bagged and left by the trash can wasn't removed. The same hair on the bathroom floor behind the door was there all 5 days. Some days we got 2 towels, others we got more and a bathmat. Tried to print boarding passes on convenient computers on each floor. After trying 3rd and 2nd floor with no success of getting printer to work, no paper in the 1st floor I gave up. The room was fine. The carpet and upholstery of couch and chair needed to be cleaned. Our room was pretty quiet. We were there Christmas Eve and Christmas night so they weren't very busy. The location was pretty good for the places we needed to go---downtown and Wilmington Island.

Lovely southern hotel. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Room was clean and location was excellent. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. This is someplace I would consider staying at again. Problem with room key every time I went out, but staff assisted.

I stayed for 3 nights at the Oglethorpe for business. Due to the need of travelling all over Savannah, I found the hotel to be very convenient no matter what direction I needed to travel. This was my second stay at the hotel and I found it clean and comfortable. The hotel is old but it is well maintained. The staff is courteous, warm and friendly.

The pictures look better than the actual property. It is 3 star tops. Equal to Quality Inns or Days Inn. "Suite" in the name applies to the sitting area and not the quality of the room. But it is clean and staff were friendly. Not a place to stay if you plan t spend most of your time in the historic district.
