For the money, spend the extra yen and get a hotel closer to Yokohama instead of ShinYokohama. You have to use the subway or the infrequent Yokohama line to get to and from Yokohama. By the way, it stops one stop before the Yokohama Station. The hotel is very old. They drained their swimming pool. You have to pay for everything here--internet, laundry, […] breakfast, gym. It is handy that there's a supermarket on the basement floor, but prices are high. The only plus I give them is the green cleaning service. For not cleaning your room over two days, you get a 500 yen voucher good for the gift shop. Read more

The hotel is one block from Shin Yokohama station, and was really easy to find. That's pretty much the only good thing about it. While they certainly spent and continue to spend money on the lobby, the room was pretty bad. Nasty stained carpet with cigarette burns. Unbearably hard, old bed with a gross cover blanket. The hotel tower is cylindrical and thus the rooms are a bit pie-shaped although you won't be able to tell right off the bat. There is an atrium in the middle that is glassed in but you can see the corridors of the other floors and the skylight at the top of the building. The rooms are clean but a bit small. The hotel is located along side the Shin-Yokohama station - use the East exit. The front entrance is located on the farthest side away from the station exit but you can get to the hotel front from the shopping center entrance attached to it. Staff speaks English and there is a coin laundry in the vending machine room off to the right side of the bank of elevators. 3 washers, 3 dryers although 1 of each was broken when I was there. The location of this hotel is fine, for what you pay for a hotel in Yokohama. It is within walking distance to Shin Yokohama JR Station, to Ramen Museum, to Yokohama subway station...... There is even a shopping mall just next to the hotel! You could buy favorite brand such as Muji, Uniqlo..... The "Green" service is great where you get a 500 yen voucher […] per day if no room service is required! However, the check out time is too early, at 11:00am! There were non-smoking rooms so the cleaning staff try to camouflage the room with deodorant which made it unbreathable. The hotel is not up to international standards. I was very dissappointed both for the service and the facilities.

I stayed at this hotel 4 times in 2010. The hotel is located within 5 minutes of the Shin-Yokohama bullet train (Shinkansen) station. Thus if one holds a Japan Rail Pass it is an inexpensive but very convenient hotel. Shin-Yokohama to Tokyo Station is 15 minutes by bullet train. The hotel looks like a high end hotel, however, the price is very reasonable. The rooms are well maintained and clean. The rooms are small compared to hotel rooms in other countries but normal size in Japan. This hotel is much better than A Japanese business hotel. It costs about $20 more per night than a business hotel. Internet is by cable and is free. The hotel is tall and has excellent views from the rooms. On Clear days Mt Fuji can be seen out one side and Tokyo, Yokohama and other cities can be seen out the other sides. Views are best above the 12th floor. Read more

Yokohama is generally not my destination when going to Japan. I needed a convenient hotel to Yokohama, with good value. Rooms are a bit small, ice machine requires coin. Hotel is adjacent to shopping and train station. Going to Yokohama, Great Value, good location, would stay again.

Overall the hotel was better than I expected - based on some reviews that I read. I was there for 1 night; however, it seemed like a first class hotel. I did have a problem finding the hotel as the hotel name sign on the building faces the side street and I passed it several times on the main street while carrying a lot of luggage.

The hotel's location was great as it was almost literally beside the train station, just a 2-3 mins walk. Along the walk to the hotel, there are many eateries and convenience stores. For people using the JR pass and who intend to commute to the Tokyo area, Mount Fuji, explore other areas of Japan like Osaka etc, I strongly recommend this hotel as it […] rather affordable (we booked while it was having a 50% limited time offer) and since it is a Shinkansen station, there is no need to transit to other stations to board the shinkansen. I asked for a room with a view of Mount Fuji while making the booking and guess what, the hotel staff gladly gave me one. The view was splendid on clear days. To travel Hakone to see Mount Fuji, it was only a 15 min ride to Odawara which saved us a lot of time. To Tokyo however, the commute was longer at around 40 mins to reach most destinations in Tokyo. If you don't mind the wait and find Tokyo hotels too expensive or already being booked out, this is the one to stay in. Rooms were very clean, though my keen eyes spotted some small areas with specks of dust in the bathroom. I have only 2 bad points. The first is that there are no major shopping malls near the hotel so if you intend to do some late night shopping or what not, you'll be disappointed to find only eateries and convenience stores. The second was one of the hotel's staff's refusal to help me call the Imperial Household Agency to help me book a guided tour for 2. Not sure if my request was too much, but the attitude he showed was bad compared to my experiences with most Japanese. However, the 2 other hotel counter staff I met were very helpful and polite, like the Japanese people. Read more

I was absolutely delighted when I discovered that the bus I took from Haneda airport terminated at the hotel - saved any possible stress looking for it! The hotel was certainly very nice, and most of the staff I had contact with spoke some English. Disappointed that I had to pay for any ice I wanted to use, and I should have been in Japan long enough […] not to expect breakfast to be hot - cold bacon and scrambled eggs despite the "hot plates", and luke warm coffee (I have incidentally given up any hope of getting a cup of (British-style) tea anywhere in Japan unless I take it with me.
