Clean sheets, Clean bathroom, ok bed. Shower was small and akwardly placed. Staff was indifferent at best. Not rude but with little or no interest in the guests- this applies to all employees over 3 days. By this I mean they talked among themselves or on the phone and ignored waiting patrons( not just me but every other guest I saw as I waited in the lobby for a friend and watched the front desk.)It seemed they lost or confused alot of reservations.

We appreciated being able to park in a garage for free at this hotel. The man who checked us in was very polite and helpful. We ordered take-out food and they did not give us napkins or silverware; he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable, the shower and bathroom were clean and the jacuzzi tub was great!

Got in Saturday night at 10pm and left Sunday morning at 8am. Just stayed because the location was convienient to my in-laws. Room was very dated and old. There was a distinct odor from the hotel. The hotel reminded me of the hotel from the "shining" (without all the horror, of course). Beds were soft and kind of uncomfortable. The TV was tiny and didn't produce a clear picture! Bathroom was dingy at best. I did not dare take a shower! The bathroom fan was obnoxiously loud also. The worst was I think I got about 7-8 bites on my body the next day. I can't say for sure if the bed had bedbugs...but... Would I recommend it? No. Would I stay there again? Hell no.

Old hotel, although it is clean it could use some new curtains and some updating. The fish tank in the lobby was so green I couldn't see fish. The breakfast looked like left overs that nobody wanted to eat. Very gross looking food, I was not about to eat it. The parking is horrible, and the common areas in the hotel are very small and cramped.

Anyone who has ever stayed at any hotel in any of the 5 boroughs knows that prices can be insane. But, if you need to be in Bayside then the Anchor Inn should be a serious consideration. The rooms aren't big, but they appear to be clean and decently maintained. I didn't spend much time in the room, but I only needed it for the minimal amounts of sleep I was going to get anyways. LIRR stations is close bye, and you can take that into the city at all hours of the day.

The hotel was easy to get to..had plenty of restaurants and conveiences close by. It was located close to a class that I was taking so I was there for 5 days. People that worked at the hotel were friendly, I did have an upgraded room, bed was comfortable, maid service great... Parking was not so great they do have a garage, but it was tight. I would stay there again if I needed to be in the area.

One of the three front desk clerks seemed a bit grumpy but they all answered any questions I had. The cleaning maid was friendly and efficient and the parking was safe and clean. The hotel was well worth the money and I ended up staying an extra night and the clerk handled this request with no problem. The neighborhood is safe and very residential. Bell Blvd is walking distance and has some great restaurants, like Papazzio for great Italian food (really a great place) or a number of fast food or pizza joints. The breakfast served at the hotel is more than adequate with two kinds of cereal, bagels, muffins, coffee, milk and tea. I would highly recommend this hotel if you have your own transportation.

It's the secure neighborhood that the hotel has strength. The room itself needs lots of improvement. My room did not have shower head. I was supposed to have non-smoking room. But it wasn't available at the time of my check-in. Wow. The room smelled terrible. I had to buy Febreez myself, and still needed to open the window(which invited all the noise from the street).

Reserved two "kitchenette" rooms; only one available, although we paid for the kitchenette. No refund! This hotel and hotels.com could have cared less. The bed in our room was as hard as a rock, the bed in the other room (reserved for my sister and her family) was way too soft (mushy!). The first thing that needed to be done to the kitchenette was to clean it (crumbs on the table, disgusting microwave, dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door and hair all over the partially used "complimentary" bottles). The next morning we went to take a shower, no showerhead! Had to get dressed and use the shower in the room across the lobby. To access the kitchenette room you either had to go outside or walk down a double flight of stairs that reeked of mildew (I gagged the whole way). To add insult to injury, when we requested sheets for the pullout couch, we were charged an additional $10/night. If we had not been in town to arrange and attend our mother's funeral (which the hotel was aware of) I would have read them the riot act. It made an emotional and difficult trip even worse! If you need to stay in this area, I would stay anywhere BUT here.

Room was set up so that we couoldn't move past the end of the bed to the other side of the room. The TV cabinet was so large that there was not even 18 inches between it and the end of the bed. We did not get the room cleaned the first day and when we got back at 9:00 PM the desk clerk stated that there would not be anyone from house keeping until 10:00 PM. The phone didn't work so I had to make 3 trips to the front desk to discuss these problems and get the things that should have been done by the maid staff. Our door key cards expired at the end of the first day and I had to have them reprogramed.

Hi: I am not sure I would stay here again. The room was on a major roadway and was noisy all night. The entire hotel smells like years of tobacco use. I did not feel entirely safe staying here as a woman alone. However, the neighborhood is safe and it is a 20 minute walk to the Long Island Light Rail system into the city

For that price, I was expecting much less, from past experiences in NY areas. I cannot say enough good things about this exceptional hotel. Rooms were made up "spotless" each day, including bedding changed. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Location is outstanding, near LaGuardia, with MTA buses a few feet out the door, and great Subway access, even by walking. Hotel personnel even made extra efforts to help me get a new laptop connected to their wireless signal. I will always choose this Hotel, when visiting NY.
