Rodeway Inn Macarthur Airport - Ronkonkoma

I have stayed in many of the hotels on Long Island and this one is by far the best bang for your buck! Room was clean and big. Free Breakfast was excellent and considering it was less than $100 for the night, I couldn't be happier. Definitely going to be staying here again.

The room stunk of stale cigarette smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. When the front desk was notified, we were informed that he couldn't wake the manager. I was the one who asked if we could get another room. The employee, who should have suggested it instead of me, informed me that we would have to move to another building. There was black […] mold in the shower. The speakers on the television had been blown out, so that at any volume it sounded like a kazoo. After a sleepless night, we checked out very early and informed the person at the front desk about all of the issues. She informed us that the manager wasn't available, and that she couldn't authorize any sort of discount. She didn't call the manager either. They're more concerned about the manager than the guests? So my family and I were in town to visit my sister at stony brook university for parents and family weekend and the room have a smell to it. The tube was dirty. The microwave in the room dinged the was quiet then a little while later it did it again, I unplugged. In morning I told the lady at the desk about this problem, some one came in play'd with it. The second night it was doing the same thing again, but now it was every 20 minutes, so I unplugged it.

Check in was simple after we rang the bell to get someone to the front desk. It's an old motel that's been refurbished. Surfaces are worn. Bathroom tile in the shower was painted and still peeling badly. y wife sat on the bed and there was something sticky on the bedspread- like candy or something. I just needed a cheap place to sleep for 7 hours. This was the cheapest hotel in the area I needed to be. The bed was uncomfortable,the pillows too small, the walls too thin. The bathroom was 3' wide by 7' long.. There was NO Closet!

I was very pleasantly surprised, considering the price of the room. Our room was in Building 3 (Building 1 looked to be older but I didn't see the rooms). Our room was really nice with a flat screen TV and very nice furnishings. The location was very convenient with restaurants and shopping nearby and the free breakfast was very nice.

Room was good, clean. Service was very good too. In-room coffee was weak and only made two cups. In-lobby coffee was instant coffee. Was looking for accessible room, but motel did not have one. Worked out okay with existing room and wheelchair.

For a lower than average price for a room, don't expect much. Small but clean room. Decor probably from the early 1970s. It was a cheap place to sleep but we didn't do much of that either.
