Overall a good hotel. They didn't have the note in my file that I'd need a roll away bed, but they were quick to get it up to us. Housekeeping apologized personally for not doing the room while we were out for 4 hours, but did bring extra towels, etc upon our return.

We reserved a room with two queen beds and upon arrival was told they didn't have the room we reserved and only had a room with a king bed. Two adults and two kids (10 and 12) in a king bed?!? They let us use a rollaway and put us in a room with a pull out couch. We then had to call for sheets, blankets, and pillows. The bathroom had two towels and […] a half empty bottle of soap. Nothing in the hotel room worked properly, and the cleanliness was downright creepy. The jacuzzi had a black film that frothed once it was started. No hot water for tea. Coffee maker did not work. The room was beautiful; that's not the problem. The problem is the noise. Constant. The security door bangs loudly and it was a very popular door the night we stayed. A person came banging on our door at 11:30 p.m. then proceeded to bang on other doors. I've stayed @ other Shilos and have found them to be well run establishments. The Boise location is no different, everything in and around the hotel is kept up and attended to. My room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficent. It's right off of I-84 and next to the airport, so it's easy to manuever. I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the past few years and my most recent stay was by far the worst ever! This hotel was never "great", but it was decent, affordable, and clean. On my last visit, during New Years week, I stayed while passing though town. Once in my room, I noticed that the bathroom floor had muddy foot prints, hairs, and debris […] left behind. Obviously the room had not been appropriately cleaned! The king size bed was decrepit, as half the mattress was broken down and sunken in. I hardly slept while in that room, and passed on even taking a shower since I was so grossed out by the bathroom. The continental breakfast and coffee provided was pathetic! Love this hotel! We travel from Washington state to Nevada at least 3 times each year. We stay at this location as our halfway point. Convenient on/off from the freeway, gas, mini-mart and a Subway right next door. A bit noisy from the freeway if you stay on the freeway side. Request a room on the opposite side if possible.

We come to Boise often to visit family, so we've stayed in many of the hotels. I chose the Shilo because I read a review that said, "Usually choose a Shilo or a Comfort Inn because they are consistently nice." On the plus side, the room was nice, clean, well appointed, and a good size. I requested the quiet side of the building and did not get it. The […] beds were very comfortable. The website pictures showed a big screen tv, but we did not have one. On the negative side, about which I'm very upset, the staff was decidedly unfriendly and uncaring. I walked through the door, excited to be here with my grandson. The hotel clerk was very snippy, cutting me off, not answering questions. She had an agenda and couldn't be bothered being nice -- let alone helpful when asked where things were. Each contact with her was like that. The breakfast bar was SAD, skimpy selection -- not even the usual things. No orange juice; no hot chocolate for the boy; no bananas or oranges. I had to ask for a tray, and they were reluctant to get one. The rolls were stale. We have stayed at MANY hotels in Boise that offer better fare and service for a lower price. Employees were helpful, and outgoing. Rooms were clean and neat. Breaksfast was mediocre, but it was done nicely. The hotel is just off of Broadway and Interstate 84, so access was convenient.
