The hotel is located around 10 - 15 minutes walking to las Ramblas, and about very close to a metro station. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. It is a really nice hotel.

Everything went fine, this is a neat hotel, good attention, average good service I would say, and nice and convenient location. The parking is around 20 euros per day and it is quite cumbersome to park, so if you have a big car, don't even think about it. Complimentary internet is incredibly slow, otherwise surcharges are high. Same to print a document, […] even that connection time is charged. The only one thing I would say it is a show stopper for me, is that it has been the noisiest place I have ever had to stay in. I do not know if it is the thickness of the walls or what, but I could listen in the most detailed way any people noise or interaction that was going on in the lower, upper, and neighbor areas within the hotel (not even talking about street noise which would be expected in a busy city like Barcelona), have ever had this happened to me before. At night, at 3 am, anytime you could hear toilettes flushing, things dropping, doors slamming, people talking, TV, even the sound of sliding closet doors! So if you plan to have a quite business stay, I don't think this is the place. Read more

The hotel seemed to be out of the mainstream of your typical US tourists but within walking distance of most of the sites we wanted to see. It was a short ride from the cruise harbor and airport, both of which we used on this trip. A few blocks from all the hop on/off buses and there was always a taxi outside if needed. We were there during the fall so we can't say what it would be like during the summer. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Nice hotel, fit the purpose of the stay. Very good located at 4-5 blocks from Plaza Cataluyna (where everything start), 2 blocks from the metro station. I only have two down sides, only one soap! so you either wash your hands or use it to get a shower. And the fact that I asked for a double bed and what they did was join two single beds, with not fixed […] wheels! so it was kind of annoying to split the bed with every movement. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in a quiet area, yet central, and our room was soundproof. We were ready for "no air conditioning", as mentioned in another post. However, the room was nice and cool. The rooftop terrace was a great place to get a drink.

Wowee--we LOVED the hotel--Easy to get to from Airport(bus for 11 euro took us to within 5 blocks).. loved it. only complaint is the high cost of internet and that our double bed was literally two beds put together- this is something i've experience elsewhere, but these beds were too mobile, sliding around, even when I was just sitting leaning against the headboard working on my laptop. The hotel is in a nice residential area a 10 minute walk to Cataluna Square, the Cortes Ingles dept store and the Ramblas. The neighborhood was safe except that one morning we were followed by a man near the hotel, when we noticed him we stopped at a phone and after considering his options he went on his way. I would still feel safe in the neighborhood […] after that event. However it is a reminder that pick pockets and other malcontents can be found anywhere and one needs to be vigilant. The room was comfortable. The garden, gym and solarium on the top floor a refreshing way to spend the morning or evening. The staff were very accommodating and spoke good english. Despite its supposedly-convenient location in the main part of the city (not dead-center, though), we still found ourselves taking taxis in order to reach other parts of the city for additional transportation (bus or train to airport, tourist buses, popular sightseeing sites, etc.). Found ourselves with a lack of choices for nearby dining (poor selection […] in the immedite vicinity) and had to decide between limited breakfast in a nearby bakery or over-priced (20-Euro) breakfast-buffet in the hotel, just as one example. The pool on the rooftop is nice and unique, but it is perhaps more enjoyable in the summer months since the bar, the lounge, and the entire pool area was abandoned when we were there in mid-November. The city-rooftop-view from the pool area allows you to see surrounding buildings (not necessarily anything spectacular). Our welcome to the hotel could have been warmer with more of a smile, but actually everything went smooth and efficient. Despite this being an Expedia Picks hotel (the primary reason we chose it), and despite us booking through Expedia, the front desk did not really know what Expedia was and of course did not even recognize our Expedia VIP card (i.e., there were no upgrades, no breakfast included in the price, and no additional benefits whatsoever). Hard-wired Internet was mentioned in hotel literature, but the port was not working, which forced us to use WiFi Internet from the hotel's provider (SwissCom) at ~$10/hour. All around: just fine. I was only there one evening, but wish I had booked it when I returned after a quick trip to Bilbao...the NH Podium is much nicer than the nearby NH Duc de la Victoria. The Nh Podium was excellant. When we booked we got 2 twin beds but they switched us to a dbl. Airline pilots and crew also stay there. The room was very clean, quiet. The bed was firm. 3 TV stations in English(Bloomberg, CNN International and RT(Russia Today). There was a safe in the room and nice view from the balcony. Easy char, desk/chair and mini-bar. […] Modern bathroom(new fictures, etc). The hallway and bathroom are 3 steps up from the bedroom and in there own seperate area. We didn't use the gym, sauna or pool but took a look. It is well stocked and very very clean. Great location. 2 blocks outside old city but very quiet, not a tourist corner. 2 blocks to Metro(no cab needed) and about 900 yards to train stop to airport. Cab ride to train for 2(and lugguge) and train to airport was 12 euros for 2. Excellant coffee shop and inexpensive tapas restaurant between Metro and Hotel. Read more

Had a lovely stay at NH Podium. In walking distance to the city centre and many attractions. The hotel room is very big, with a large bed (Double room), and very comfortable. Not sure if the website mentioned, but realized during our stay that the swimming pool is only available during August (Summer Period).
