"nice hotel.nothing too special just clean&simple"
Very helpful staff. Clean room. Nothing fancy. You will be ok staying at this place for a week if you want to save money. Great location. AC, iron, TV, fridge and all is there for you. I liked it.Genuine Expedia guest review
Would recommend this hotel for its location and convenience on South beach. Otherwise a bit rundown and outdated, but pretty clean. Rooms had hardwood floors which is a plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location was great! But I won't rush back there."
The proximity to the convention center and Lincoln Rd was ideal for our plans. The rooms not the cleanest or brightest I've found in S. Beach. We were told at check in that our rooms were right next door to each other...not even close! They did have on site parking wich is a VERY big perk in that area of town! Just don't leave with your car for dinner […] and expect to find an open spot when you get back! We stayed in the back part of the hotel and there was ALOT of noise (trucks, etc.) throughout the night. The water never got hot, only warm. Not my favorite place. Great stay. Friendly staff. Only downfall was our standard room had a refrigerator but no microwave. Reserve a suite if you need both. If you don't want the 24hr ocean drive action at your doorsteps it's a perfect location. Easy walk to the heart of the ocean drive action.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A bit run down, RUDE bartender"
My trip started off pretty well when we were upgraded for free to a suite. Unfortunately, this hotel is a bit run down. The furniture, towels, and bedding have seen better days. The front desk staff was quite dismissive and didn't acknowledge me until they were ready to help me. A simple "i'll be right with you" goes a long way. My main complaint came […] from the blonde bartender who refused to open a bottle of wine we bought. Her exact words were "I'm really tired of people asking for free things like cups and straws. I work for tips. I'll open your bottle for like $5 or something." Again, kindly say, "I can help you with that, the corkage fee is $5" and I would be fine with that. Fortunately, Jovani (sp?) and Edward at the front desk in the evening were extra helpful even when the bartender was rude to them too. Overall, the hospitality at this hotel is very low. "It was decent"
Overall it was a decent hotel, but the room we initially got felt like it was in the basement of the hotel. They told us we had a pool view and it was really a whole. Inch of bushes outside our door the surrounded the pool. (Don't take room 128) If it wasn't one thing it was another. We changed rooms after the first night. Wifi service was that great […] considering we paid for it. But the location wasn't bad considering it was close to the beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not my normal type of place"
I was at South Beach on business. The hotel was nice and I appriciated the Art Deco style.. I grew up in South Florida and the building reminded me of the old Florida that is long gone. I under stand that South Beach is a party town and the people in the next room started up about 11:00 pm and kept is going. Who ever they were they were living proof […] that idiots should not drink. My wife, son and I walked around S Beach and stopped at the hotel bar. wife and I got a bottled beer and son got a can of coke. The bill was $17.50, the hotel also hits you with a $15.00 internet fee. Everywhere we went there was a fee or excessive cost. There should be a sign once you enter Island-Welcome to South Beach, Now Empty Your Wallet. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dissapointingly bad room"
Arriving at the hotel at 22.00 at night there was no parking anymore available which causes us to park the car 20 blocks away and they put us in a handicap room in between the bar and the gym, outside, not in the hotel building, next to the pool. The room was poorly designed, very simple and bathroom was white and more white with a shower that made […] the whole room wet. Staff was not very nice, no apologies that it was the only room left, no offer to change the next day. Breakfast is not included and you better have breakfast in the various restaurants around the hotel for better quality and atmosphere. The only good thing about this room was the noice, there was none. And the location close to the beach. But for that there are plenty other options. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, okay hotel."
Dorchester hotel is in a good location to be near the beach and the all action on South Beach. But the comfort of the actual stay was not so great. The A/C unit in our room was very old and was not working properly. The room was very stuffy and warm(this is in the middle of August). We notified the front desk with 30 minutes of checking into our room. […] They said they could not switch us because the rooms were fully booked. The staff were not very helpful in trying to make our stay comfortable. If it wasn't for the stuffy room I would give this hotel a way better review. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great price. Great location."
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm planning on moving to Miami in half a year, I would certainly stay at his hotel again. Everything at the hotel is just as described on their website. Due to an error on their end, they even upgraded my room from a standard double bedroom to a suite (which is just like an apartment with fully functional kitchen) for […] the same price. Swimming pool is heated and open 24hrs. Parking is a bit limited but there is nighttime security to make sure the vehicles are safe. Overall, an excellent experience. The proximity to the beach is great but that's about all this hotel has going for it. It is an old building so there is mold and lots of humidity in the rooms. We switched rooms and the humidity was terrible in both. The AC was good for nothing and the beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. The lobby was decent and the pool was ok except it had poor sun […] exposure due to the surrounding building. The furniture looks nice at first glance but not comfy at all. "Good last minute selection"
Pleasantly surprised with our last minute selection as we were central to our our activities and just a block or so away from the beach. Great hotel for price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect location; highly convenient and accessible"
At first I was placed in room 109, which was extremely warm as the A/C was not working efficiently. Once I was moved to room 107 (which I originally requested during my reservation), everything was wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location, nice hotel, room just ok"
The hotel is in an excellent location: few blocks from Lincoln road, restaurants, bars etc. The best part is the sister-hotel in front of the beach (hotel marseilles), so you can get beach chairs and umbrella without paying for the more expensive hotel (though, they indirectly charge you for it in the "resort fee" which also includes pretty bad wifi). […] The pool is nice. "Free" happy hour every day (you tip $1/drink). The room was okay. Bathroom light made an annoying noise and toilet had lots of problems. THe room was too close to the lobby and entrance, but we didn't hear too much noise. They didn't have parking for either of the nights we stayed, which was annoying but found free street parking nearby, so we saved some money. In summary: decent hotel for the price, good location, just okay room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Decent hotel- close to Miami Beach amenities"
A decent hotel, good value for the location. Don't be fooled by the photos though. They do market the hotel as more luxurious than it actually is by disclosing beautiful stunning photos. However, it's more of a value stay hotel (think of a nicer Days Inn). Nonetheless, really no complaints. "Hotel close to the beach"
the hotel was nice, but there was construction going on, when I looked up this hotel the reviews were great but they also said there was construction and the reviews were from a year ago I think that is too long for renovations. My room had leak from the ceiling that they came and looked at then they put towels down instead of fixing it. "Nice hotel & great staff!!!"
The hotel is about two blocks from the beach. I didn't get a chance to see how the breakfast bar was being they was close the day we was interested. "More than we expected"
I really have to admit that I was positively surprised by the hotel. When we checked in the service was nice and friendly. We noticed some kind of scent. Some might like it others not. The room itself was like an apartment with kitchen, dining area, bedroom, living room, bathroom, balcony, 2 TVs. The 2 queen size beds had both nice and comfy foam mattresses. […] And overall during the night it was not to loud. So I would definitely go there again. The hotel itself is close to Lincoln Rd and Ocean Drive. The room was clean. dirty and disappointing. the outside has running water dripping down the side of the building, the bar has a rotting floor. it looks like they have termites and haven't swept it in about 10 years. service took forever. the pool was gross and slimey. bird crap was all over the chairs. lobby has random chairs all over the place.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A Great Mother's Day Weekend!"
My adult son and I had a wonderful stay at The Dorchester here 5/10-5/12. The staff is just wonderful, happy, eager to assist, engaging! Fanny and Eddie just couldn't do enough to help. Our standard double bed room was clean,quiet-right off the main lobby - the bathroom was tiny but nicely redone. The pool is great as is the bar. The shared amenities […] with the sister hotel are priceless! We had great resort amenities yet the coziness of a small old Florida hotel. It was fun having so many German tourists there.. Easy walking distance to Ocean drive,Lincoln Road,Espanola Way, clubs. We would DEFINATELY return! NOT flashy. The hotel probably was nice, but the room I was given was not inside the hotel, it was another room off the side of the building. Felt like a motel then a hotel. "Not a 10 but definitely a keeper."
The Dorechester really provided everything my friend and I needed. The location was amazing. Tons of bars, stores, and everything else you need around it. If you're wanting to go to south beach for the nightlife, this hotel is perfect, close to many miami hotspots and within either walking distance or a short taxi ride to the others this hotel is in a good location. The Dorcehster Hotel is a hotel that has the ability to be an excellent place to stay during your vacation in South Beach, Miami. However, the cleanliness of the hotel was below par. For example, the hotel had (a) bathroom locks that were not working correctly, (b) women's hair all over the bathtub, (c) an unclean balcony, (d) sheets that required replacement […] and not cleaning, (e) dirty hallways entering the "suites", (f) doors that did not close easily and would slam awakening the hotel goers, (g) hard/uncomfortable beds, and (h) blinds/drawers that did not operate properly. The most disappointing part of all was the pool. The lounge chair covers were filthy. Although we all lay towels on our chairs, it is still important to have clean chair covers. Furthermore, you could see the dirt/filth on the bottom of the pool. For $350.00 plus dollars a night (over the weekend), the hotel was not worth it. It would have been more beneficial to spend an additional $150.00 a night and stay at the Delano or the National. I apologize that the review and critique is not better; however, for the price I paid, my fiance and I could have had a better stay at a Holiday Inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Here are what happened to our stay: 1. no elevator, and we happen to carry a lot of luggage 2. we stay in a 2nd floor suite which has a balcony that is shared with another room.
