"Not very pet friendly"
Was a bit disappointed with the room for the amount paid. They also never told me until I got there that pets were not allowed on furniture including bedding ($100 fine) so its not that pet friendly. The location and views are beautiful and it was easy to get to town. I would stay again, just not with my pets.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We got into town early and they happily changed our room to one that was ready so that we could check in early. The room was spacious - we even had our own little porch. The complimentary breakfast was nice and the hot tub successfully soothed our muscles after our long hike and bike ride. I am guessing that the price doubles or triples in the winter, […] but in the summer it was definitely a great deal! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
There was no air conditioning in our room. Breckenridge is cool but it was still too hot for us at night. The room also needed to be updated especially the bathroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel provided a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and it was close to all the downtown shops within half mile driving distance. It was unfortunately very warm in our room and this hotel does not have A/C. They did bring up a small fan and we did open our windows but still pretty stuffy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great view & value..."
The lodge is really nice but very affordable. It feels fancier than it actually is. It is very clean & simple. For the views & price, I think it is hard to beat. My wife & I have stayed there on multiple occasions & even when it has been full, it hasn't felt crowded. I highly recommend the Lodge & Spa!Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The reason we gave it a 4 is because they have no air conditioning, so our room was warm and a little stuffy even with the window open. They were very accommodating though as they brought us a fan.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were overall pleased with this hotel. It does need updating which we understand is in the making. Breakfast was to start at 7:00 am. Our first morning we waited until 7:20 before they were ready to serve. The second morning was not as bad, but still not ready at 7:00. There was a major carpet rip between the beds, but we did encounter a decorator/ […] architect that said they are getting ready to remodel. The location was fine with us away from the busyness of downtown and we were close to a great hiking trail. We would recommend this hotel and would use it again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice not to be in a cookie cutter franchised hotel. Quaint, clean, friendly with awesome views. Pet friendly too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Breckenridge mountain stay"
The morning breakfast and the hot tubs were great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Have stayed here several times in the past. I think upkeep has improved.Genuine Expedia guest review
I love this hotel and its wonderful views. We had a room with mountain view and it was worth extra money. I like the natural décor of this lodge but I wish that our beds were more comfortable. My mattress was so soft and uncomfortable that I couldn't fall asleep for at least 2 hours. I understand that everyone likes different firmness but this one just […] felt overused and in desperate need for replacement. I liked the natural wood décor of the rooms but also found our room little bit dusty. Bathroom was very nice, spacious and clean. In general I would recommend this hotel for the pleasant and polite service, great breakfast and wonderful location. Also, my family loved two hot tubes outside on the deck. It was great to enjoy them while looking at the sky full of bright stars. When I find myself in Breckenridge again I will definitely stay there! Hopefully they will have firm beds!!! "Lovely rustic lodge with fabulous views"
This lodge has a lot of mountain log cabin charm. The staff were great folks. You can sit in the hot tub at sunset and watch the mountains. Wonderful scenery all around. Hiking and driving up Boreas Pass is a real treat. Not posh, but not meant to be. We'd go back for sure.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice if you want to be away from everything."
The hotel was nice, but lots of stairs and no mini-fridge in the rooms, and the only ice machine was on the first floor on the other side of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great views from this hotel"
We stayed for one night in July. The hotel has terrific views of the runs at Breckenridge! We enjoyed seeing it both from the outdoor hot tubs and the breakfast area. It is peaceful and away from the crowds in town.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A good choice"
The hotel was clean and slightly outdated. Just like me!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming place with stunning views"
My hubby and I spent three days at the Lodge and Spa in Breckenridge for our mini honeymoon. We reserved a room with a mountain view and kitchenette. We were very impressed with the unobstructed, stunning views from our window that displayed the most amazing mountain scenery that seemed to go on forever. The room itself was clean and provided most of […] the amenities we expected. We were a little disappointed by it being advertised as a kitchenette, but there was no stove top and limited kitchenware (there was only an old microwave and small fridge, one plate, a bowl and 2 glasses). The lodge provided a decent complimentary continental breakfast every morning with make-your-own waffles. There are also 2 hot tubs with a lovely view of the mountains. Overall we were very pleased with our accommodations, especially for the money. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for rustic charm and unbeatable mountain views for a decent price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room needed some minor repairs and the bed was not the most comfortable. The room was clean and ready when we arrived a bit early. There is no AC in the rooms but this isn't much of an issue in the mountains. There were two weddings on the day we arrived but we didn't notice which wasn't bothersome until the bagpiper showed up for the second wedding. […] It is cute that all the rooms are named after 14er's. Would stay here again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful location/views, but a little run-down"
We had a nice stay; the views are amazing. The room was quite warm, even with the ceiling fan, so we had to sleep with the windows open. There were a lot of people partying and the bar crawlers were very noisy when leaving/returning in the wee hours. Finally at about 2am the staff went out to the parking lot and asked them to keep it down.Genuine Expedia guest review

Very pleasant. Wished my stay was longer so I could enjoy all the amenties in this lodge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had such a great stay here. And the staff was very accommodating, helpful, and sweet. I would definitely stay here again, summer or winter. And a truly beautiful location, too. Simply great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rustic (in a Good Way) with Stunning Scenery"
This hotel is perched upon a secluded ridge above Breckenridge, providing some spectacular vistas of Boreas Pass area. More than anything, the views are the reason to stay here. It's a bit outside the actual town of Breckenridge, and don't trust your GPS. Just take Boreas Pass Road from Main Street' It's the easiest way to get there, if a bit indirect. […] The staff was wonderfully friendly, good breakfast, and everything relatively clean. However, I reserved two rooms. One was just perfect—clean, new, fresh. The other, which was immediately adjact to the other, had threadbare carpet, with long strips ripped from it and the subfloor showing through. The same room also had a peculiar and unpleasant odor that smelled as if the maids used some air freshener or carpet cleaner to cover up another smell. Given the lodge's pet policy, I have my suspicions about both the carpet damage and the smell. So, with one room perfect and the other not so much, you might want to inspect your room first before you settle in. But all things considered, I would come back here without a moment's hesitation. And be sure to enjoy the hot tubs; soak in the relaxation and the wonderful views. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Beautiful mountain views in a lodge-like hotel overlooking amazing Breckenridge. No pool but nice outdoor hot tubs (2). Friendly, helpful & accommodating hotel staff, nice rooms, perfect setting. Definitely recommend this place & would stay here again..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice lodge in the mountains"
Nice place to stay when visiting Breckenridge. Not too far from town, good service, nicely decorated, nice balcony with great views, comfortable atmosphere. We stayed on the second floor. Wished there was an elevator when it came to getting all our luggage upstairs. Not sure if this was noted on the details sheet on the web. Good thing to know though, […] especially if you are unable to do stairs or carry heavy luggage up stairs. Great breakfast area with great views. They were wonderful in accommodating our request for a room that pets were not allowed in since my son is allergic to pets. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quiet, hard-to-find, elderly hotel."
We only stayed two nights and didn't make use of the spa. Getting to the lodge was a challenge. Comments on the confirmation warned that nav systems would take us over some very poor roads and then provided specific directions that took us right over those poor roads! When this was brought to the attention of the person on duty on Sunday night, she […] allowed as how they "would have to look into that". The room was spacious, comfortable and, thanks to the distance to the busy vacation community of Breckenridge, quiet. Heat is available, but no cooling. At an altitude of ~10,500 feet, that wasn't a problem for us even in mid-July, but I'm sure there are a few days every year when it is. The bathroom was tiny, with very limited shelf space, and the sink drain wouldn't close. The overall impression of the inn is of an elderly building tarted up to look rustic. Squeaky plank floors, places where paint needed refreshing, an open deck with a magnificent view that was almost useless because it lacked any protection from the afternoon sun, stair handrails with double rails (a small one over a larger one) that were nearly useless, were some of the deficiencies that we discovered. The breakfast, on the one occasion we had to sample it, was pretty good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great View, Unclean Room"
the View Was Wonderful, The Staff Super Helpful. But The Room Was Terrible: The Carpet Filthy And The Bed Ancient. Comforter Had Stains, Bathroom Dirty. Unpleseant EXperience.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved this mountain lodge and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away to someplace rustic with great views. The decks are great; the furniture is classic; and the massage I got at the spa was terrific!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful views right out your window"
Last minute find and stayed for couple of nights--pleasantly surprised at wonderful location for the reasonable, off-season price --few miles out of town but still convenient to eating and shopping in town as well as scenic drives/hikes hearbyGenuine Expedia guest review
Loved the view. King bed was low and lumpy, wicker chair broken and blow dryer didn't work. Staff was nice. Thought the pictures on line were misleading.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"room with a view and hotel with amenities."
Our stay was pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable. (Only wished the fireplace worked). Hotel staff was courteous. The breakfast buffet was good and kept replenished. Hotel has the look and feel of a mountain lodge and the views were beautiful (we took plenty of pics). We'll stay again when we come back to Breckenridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a king bed mountain view and it was the best view I have ever had in Breck! My husband wished there was a balcony, but I think that would have been a more expensive room. In addition the breakfast was free and delicious. I wish we had stayed more than one night. It is up a windy road on the South side of town, but those views are amazing too, […] and less than a 10 min drive. I would definitely stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful View, loud music..."
Beautiful view and very nice staff. It would have been the perfect stay with my wife and kids except there was a wedding reception at the hotel that night. We had to listen to the boom boom of the music until 11pm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was highly impressed with this place, after picking it out of the air through Hotels.com. My rate was $76/night--normal rate was $150 according to the desk clerk. This is a lodge perched high on the hill outside Breckenridge. My idiot GPS unit routed me through the back roads to get there, but it's really easy access to main street the other way […] around. "Nice Hotel, but a few (easily tolerable) issues"
I stayed here for a week and found it a pleasant place. There are a few things that keep it from being an ideal place though. Breckenridge is a small town, so access to this/that isn't really a concern for this place. Some highlights: - The view is spectacular. - The rooms/bathrooms were very clean. - Room has balcony for sitting outside and enjoying […] the weather. - Free breakfast (not much selection, but what's there is good and fresh) - exercise room, spa & (outdoor) hot tubs onsite. That last one interacts with the said view. - Friendly staff that knows the surrounding area well. - No restaurant/bar onsite. - No A/C; room (2nd floor) got up to over 90 degrees at night with windows open (Month of June; ~55 degrees outside/no breeze) with windows open. After complaining, the hotel gave us a fan. With that + balcony door half-open was able to keep it ~80 degrees at night. This place is built more for the winter apparently. As the weather cooled off at night, it became more tolerable. - Bed not very comfortable. I've had worse at places, but I've had much better. - Exercise equipment in acceptable, if not great condition. I imagine most people get their exercise outside here, but I was doing strength training. - Twice during the weekend no hot water was available for showering. Not sure why (high demand, maintenance?). Both times were mid-afternoon, usually not a shower-heavy time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great get a way place, yet close to town, quiet"
Staff was very friendly and very informativeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful views, comfortable rooms"
Beds were comfortable and rooms are large. Very pet friendly, which we loved and were glad that although it was pet friendly, the room was very clean. It is a 5-10 min drive to get to downtown Breckenridge. The breakfast was not glamorous, but worked for a standard continental breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No air conditioning"
We did not stay at this hotel because it was the end of June, and the room was 82 degrees when we got there and had no air conditioning.Genuine Expedia guest review
The view was wonderful! And it was fun to say our hotel was on top of a mountain. Sitting in the jacuzzi at night with all the stars was amazing!!! Our only complaints would be that one of our windows did not have a screen so we could not really open it. Also the air conditioning did not work and the ceiling fan really did not push any air around. But […] the cool summer mountain air eventually cooled the room off. Other than that we would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"This was most likely a lovely place in the '70's!"
We booked this room at a reasonable rate. The hotel is worn out, as are the furnishings. The scenery in beautiful and it is quieter than staying in town. Poor ventilation. Many of the guests brought dogs and allowed them to bark incessantly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Most Awesome View Ever"
The service was excellent, and the room accomodations were very comfortable. However, there were some maintenance issues such as the hot tub handrail was very loose, interior window shutter was broken, cracks in the hot tub... The breakfast was very good (waffles, yogurt, breads, juices, etc.) but the coffee was just fair. Everyone was very friendly […] and helpful. Overall we were very happy. "Hotel is in a great location close to town"
Overall the hotel is great. Very good location above town out of the nose. Great views and very rustic. The only issue is the linens which are a bit worn. "Romantic and quiet"
My husband and I stopped in Breckenridge on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park and loved this lodge. The woman at the front desk (Karen) was friendly and knowledgeable, and the hotel was charming. We stayed in a king-sized mountain view room and were not disappointed. The view was incredible. Our room had a gas fireplace, which would be lovely […] in the winter. Unfortunately, we stayed in the summer and the room was very warm. We adjusted the thermostat, turned on the fan, and opened the windows at night but were warm all night. (To be fair, we didn't contact the front desk about the issue.) The bathroom was small but clean and functional. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and there is plenty of parking. My husband and I struggled with the altitude, so lugging our bags up and down the stairs wasn't fun. An elevator would make this place so much better for those of us from closer to sea level. I hope to make it back to Breck some day, and if I do, we'll definitely stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
