"Perfect Beach Getaway!"
Arrived on a Friday and had a romantic dinner our first night. Private Cabana at Casitias... Beautiful. Louis Phillipe was our waiter and was excellent at educating us about the facility and was more than helpful. Dinner at The Club Grill with chef Tyler Thaxton was beyond words. A bit of a walk for dinner but well worth it. The Ritz is in excellent condition and represents the old world charm. The staff is nothing short of perfect. They know your name the second you arrive until you leave. Whatever you want they will get it for you. Make sure to hire Lorenzo with the hotels private transportation. He makes the airport pickup and drop off a breeze. You and also request him for any type of tour or transportation away from the hotel. Make sure to visit the Dolphin Discovery. It was great from the beginning until the end. Can't say enough about the service. Sebastian was the best. We asked for a possible room change because of a paint smell. "Beautiful Place But..."
The Ritz is the Ritz. As soon as you walk in to the beautiful lobby and are greeted by the wonderful staff you say this is why I pay and stay at the Ritz. What you don't expect is the rain that is landing on the beautiful patio to be flooding in to your room. The carpet was saturated and when carpet gets saturated the odor is putrid. Was to tired to […] deal with it and just slept but woke several times with the smell so bad that I put my head under the sheets. I think they knew the history of this room and that it had happened before because I had an employee walk in to my room but turned around quickly when he noticed I was in there. "Exactly what you would expect for the RItz!"
The hotel presents itself in all of the allure and classical fashion that is expected for a Ritz. The marble floors were pristine, the room very spacious, pool area was well maintained. Everything was very clean, bed was extremly comfortable. Staff was very nice, courteous, polite. TV picture quality could have been a little better, sometimes snowy […] in our room, but could get used to it, and over it as not there to sit in the room. Workout facility was also really nice, could have used a few more pieces of weight equipment for variety, but got what i wanted with the dumbbells. Beach spot was great, could walk out into the water at least a good 30 to 40 yd before loosing my footing. There was a life guard present all times on the beach, felt safe, even from the jet skiers. We had a fantastic visit. We arrived early (9:00 AM) and the car from the hotel was waiting for us at the airport. Our driver offered us water for the ride, and we had a very pleasant ride from the airport to the Hotel. The entire place was spotless at all times. The staff was just over the top and always went above and beyond at all times to make you feel very important. They always remembered your name. You pay a little more for this hotel but the free perks you get save you money in the end. For instance, the lounge chairs, umbrellas and towels (all of which they […] laid out for you) were free whereas they cost money elsewhere. They had waiters by the pool and on the beach to make sure you have food or drink any time you wanted it. The room was huge and a lot more space than we needed which was very nice. The view from our balcony was beautiful or the ocean and the pool. The room was always cleaned and out clothes folded at all times. The rooms were quiet and you never heard other guests. The hotel has many restaurants that were just excellent. The beach was private. The chef personally came out and thanked us several times and made sure the food was to our liking. You just do not get the customer service that we experienced here at other hotels anymore. Its was customer service is all about and these people are models of service to their guests! Awful! I thought thè hotel would be better. We had a pillow top mattress. That's what it was pillows! The hotel really needed a shuttle. We rented a car but only used it going there. First time ever in Mexico, Cancun or a Ritz-Carlton. The hotel was very nice....not overly posh or stuffy. The staff was available and willing to help with any questions about the hotel, attractions, restaurants, transportation or Cancun area.. We stayed for 12 nights at the Ritz. This was not our first time in a Ritz and we have to state the following: - peronnel is well trained and very friendly and helpful - the standard rooms are outdated - restaurants are very good but really pricy-breakfast costs pp. ....not good compared to other hotels there...ME was way better! - sun chairs are old […] and sometimes broken - fitness facilities are well maintained and well equipped - beach is awesome !!! *** We moved to club level after complaining about somebody vacuuming at 1:00am an people being very loud on their way back to their rooms in the middle of the night....*** - club level rooms are remodeled - club level service is outstanding - AC in upper level is unable to maintain 73F in the summer... even at night. - club level had some dressing requirements for certain events...deliberately ignored by... lets say folks being too much into themselves to care... there are very good restaurants accross the street for a reasonable price.
