"Great beach and high quality service"
Great stretch of beach and well trained staff. Some good restaurants across the street and the hotel restaurants arereally good but a bit stuffy. Room was updated and clean. the pool area is dated, in good condition but feels old school. Take advantage of the beach setup service, the guys are nice and efficient. We split our time between here and Mayakoba. Beach here was awesome, while the resort down in Mayakoba was amazing but beach less so. Will stay here again next time in Cancun.

Perfect vacation. Service was excellent and all of the staff truly cared about each individual guest and ensuring our experience was amazing. Jasmin at front desk so welcoming. Now, what do I want to read when researching for my next beach trip: 1) Beach was perfect. Ocean and sand perfect. You can walk for miles either direction. 2) Beach service was perfect. Timely, food excellent and staff very courteous? Eduardo, Renaldo, Daniel and Rene were stand outs. 3) SPA. Go everyday? Steam room and jacuzzi lovely? Aromatherapy showers amazing? Have massage(s). Stand outs were Rocio and Virginia. All of the valets in the SPA were great. 4) Food. We mostly are at the beach. Room Service on point. Fast and really really good. The chef approached us and let us know they can prepare anything we need. He was right. We ordered multiple meals not on menu and they accommodated all. They take notes and discuss your preferences so the new time you order they are already know your needs! Breakfast in main restaurant amazing, 5) Totally relaxing and best hotel in Cancun. 6) Pools awesome. Adult pool is the only one I went to. 7) Bedding and turn-down service on point. 8) Cleanliness on point

"The Ritz experience"
We just returned from a six day honeymoon stay at the Ritz Carlton Cancun. The hotel might come off as a little stuffy/formal for a beach resort, but that's what you expect at a Ritz. The room was very nice and appeared to have been recently redone. The staff knew our names and drink preferences by about day three. Service was impeccable throughout our stay despite a large convention group arriving mid-week. Had dinner one night in a casita on the beach which was lovely. Hotel staff also accommodated us by grilling up some mahi mahi that we had caught on a fishing trip. If you're looking for a spot to buy water, sunscreen, snacks, etc for less than what they cost in the gift shop there is an Oxxo convenience store about 500 feet away. Go out of the hotel to the main road and take a right. Also, there are jugs of fruity water out by the pool that are safe to drink, so we refilled our bottles there.

My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon and we loved it! The only thing we were disappointed on was that we thought it was an all inclusive but it's not. For some reason when I filtered out all of the non-all inclusive hotels Expedia didn't filter this one out. That being said we were actually happy in the end that it wasn't because we had the opportunity to find some excellent restaurants in the area! The staff was absolutely amazing! Almost everyone spoke perfect English! We loved it!!!

"Perfection in Cancun"
My wife and I visited Cancun for a long weekend and had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz Carlton. We had debated between the various "all inclusive" resorts and the Ritz and ultimately decided we preferred to order as we wished. I mention this because the prices were really quite reasonable for what we received and the quality of the food, drinks and service was simply incomparable to what we have experienced when going all inclusive. Everything about our stay was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was spectacular (ceviche on the beach!). The drinks made just to order. The nightly live music entertainment was fun. The beach was incredible. The employees of the hotel really care and take the time to learn about you and amazingly know your name. We walked through the front door and fell into a vacation paradise for three days and can't wait to go back!

The purpose of the trip was for rest and relaxation and the requirements were met. The hotel while a dated meditaranean style offered all the requests we asked. The room was beautiful. The ocean view clear. Housekeeping was on top of its game. Meals and service were perfect. The beach was private and every need was met. My only gripe is that I called the hotel to find out about a shuttle from the airport and was advised there was none. We were surprised at arrival that other hotels provide transposition and we were left to figure it on our own. Only later did I find out that transportation is available

"Best hotel in Cancun!"
We have been staying at the Ritz Carlton Cancun for years. We have come to expect excellence every time we visit. Last year, unfortunately, we were unable to stay at the Ritz because it had been fully booked by a large group. While we enjoyed the hotel last year, it never felt like home. This year, we returned to the Ritz and it was as spectacular, if not better, than previous years. The hotel has been largely remodeled, which was a welcome surprise. The service continues to be unrivaled. All the restaurants are phenomenal, and the pool area is never crowded. We highly recommend the Ritz to anyone who appreciates luxury, service and quality over the quantity that all-inclusive resorts offer. We never plan on staying anywhere else again.

Awesome spot! Easy direct daily flights, 20 minute taxi from airport, hotel is beautiful, clean and over the top! Staff is impecable at the pool, beach, bar and restaurants. Nighly live music at the bar is amazing. Pottery painting at the pool with Sal is a must do! Work out facility is ample and current. Can't wait to go back!

"Great service, great restaurants"
The service and staff at the Ritz are fantastic. The ocean-view room itself is not huge, but the view is beautiful. We skipped having breakfast at the hotel, but had a number of poolside lunches, which were good and reasonable. We had two dinners at Casitas, on the patio, which were very tasty and pretty reasonable. We also had dinner twice at the Club Grill, which was outstanding! Three piece jazz band, clubby atmosphere, and impeccable service with smallish, but excellent dishes. Well worth it. Overall, we found the Ritz experience to be even better than we had hoped. There is a free espresso machine in the room, the very nice workout facility is free other than for yoga/pilates type classes, the maids leave free bottles of water in your room every day. I don't know why some other reviewers felt they were nickel and dimed. By the way, we signed up for a Marriot number before we left, and that got us free internet in our room (and everywhere on the property including the pool).

"When you expect the best and get pretty good."
The hotel is located very well in the hotel zone and has great access to restaurants and shopping but the hotel is starting to show some wear and will need an update soon. The staff was always helpful and pleasant. It was full of families for spring break but not a good place to feed the young ones as the restaurants are a bit on the formal side. Better for couples.

This was my first trip to Mexico and I am looking forward to going back! The hotel staff was welcoming, friendly and extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived! Anything we needed, they did their best to accommodate! Not once did we have to wait for service while on the beach or in a restaurant. The food was better than I had expected and pools, beach, grounds and rooms were very clean! Its what you would expect from a Ritz.

We stayed at the Ritz from January 27 - February 3 2015. This was our 5th stay in Cancun and our 1st at the RItz. Compared to the other resorts we have stayed at the Ritz beds, beach, and customer service were the best by far. Jorge from the grill wait staff was one of our favorites. We had an oceanfront room which had easy access to all portions of the hotel. On our previous stays we had to wake early to "save" lounge chairs. Chairs were not an issue at the Ritz as there were plenty to choose from no matter what time of day patrons arrived. Pool attendants walked with us to our loungers and fixed our towels for us. They gave us a plastic flag and when we wanted to order a drink or food all we had to do was flip it up. Very clever!!! We enjoyed a few hours in the Jazz bar one night as well.

"A five star cruise ship with big pool and beach"
Very comfortable hotel. Lovely staff. Reminded us of Oceania cruise line. Same sort of furnishing and decor, except much larger rooms, big swimming pool, and very nice beach. Staff that went out of their way to accommodate any request. Discovered the indoor fountain courtyard only on the last day. Our large room had a pretty good view of the beach even though it was partial view, in the hotel's ratings, but only partial in that two wings interfered with a total 180 degrees. We were able to keep the doors to the veranda or balcony open at night. So soothing to hear the ocean so close. We've seen reports about the swimming pool not being very good but would disagree. It is an odd shape, but if you are a confident swimmer, you can fit three maybe four swimmers across and the distance is more than 30 yards.

"Beach vacay"
Beautiful white sand beach with turquoise blue waters. Ocean is shallow quite a ways out so you can get in and ride some fairly mellow waves. Very warm water once you are in. Weather was a bit windier than usual but our 8 day stay was mostly sunny and warm. Hotel staff are always impeccable at the Ritz. Breakfast/brunch in the hotel was a good price for $40 and there is a wonderful selection of foods. Ate out 4 times and our fav was Roland's Italian down the street. Many other restaurants within walking distance.Delish risotto and sea food dishes. Had a very relaxing stay and anything we wanted was promptly delivered.

"A week of bliss"
This is a great place to park for a week. The beaches in Cancun are superior to those further South. The food here may well be the best in Mexico. The staff here really standout for their quality and ATD. At the RC, you feel rather isolated (thankfully) from the din and drone of the crazier parts of this area. The only negative comment is that they do nickel and dime you at steep premium for all the a-la-cart stuff (drinks, internet etc.)...then again this is a Ritz Carlton what else would one expect?

This was presented as an all inclusive it was expensive and we ate out at a grocery store most of the stay. When we weren't tipping the staff they ignored us. $60.00 for breakfast was rediculous!!!

I have stayed all over the world in high end hotels and many Ritz hotels in different countries. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were wonderful as well as the cleaning staff and were done twice daily. The cleaning staff also organized everything in my room along with my toiletries. The breakfast buffet was not only fantastic, but the customer service was spectacular. It was $30.00, but unlimited everything except smoothies. I can't say the same for the beach staff or the the outdoor daily restaurant. Hard to get a drink. Twenty minutes before they even asked us and then it was another 10 for the drink. They did put our towels in the chairs and made headrests with towels on the beach every day when we came down which was nice. The front desk and consierge didn't do a great job of helping us with many things and rude. The Fontina was awesome as well as the service. The Casitas, which also offered an outdoor tent beach dining were good too, but not anything amazing. The pools were too warm and I guess thats an opinion. The beach was fabulous. You would have thought it was an all inclusive hotel where the service usually isn't very great but with everything is a la carte. Ive actually been to some all inclusive hotels that have better service than this Ritz did. If the hotel would have treated us as well as the breakfast staff our stay would have been unbeatable. But definitely not a hotel I would go back to. The Royal Hideaway in playa or the mayacoba are best

"Great hotel for families"
We recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun to celebrate our anniversary with our 1 year-old baby. We found the hotel had all the baby amenities we could need, including crib, playpen, washtub, and even electrical outlet covers. They were also able to provide a refrigerator and electric kettle for storing and warming the homemade baby food we brought from home in vacuum bags. The service was impeccable and everyone really does know you by name.

This was a family vacation with adult children and grandchildren. Hotel is definitely "kid friendly". Everyone was wonderful. Food in restaurants was well prepared and delicious. Room service was prompt with hot food hot and cold food cold. Lovely beach and pools and plenty of towels! Would highly recommend to others and definitely would stay here again!
