Nice, friendly, clean, food is delicious, but expensive - buffet breakfast $32.00 per person plus tip. Once we tried menu breakfast, we had much less and after all paid more then $80.00 for two.

I thought thru expedia that I was purchasing an all inclusive hotel package until I arrived and was informed they weren't all inclusive. As for the meals in the resturant they were pathetic for the price.

The resort is first class. The location is beachfront. The staff is awesome... Especially the beach staff who takes care of all your needs on the beach...towels, umbrella, food, drinks... They are there to assist with anything you need.

The hotel is awesome but the service that you receive is the best of the best!!! The only downsides are the prices to eat or drink at the hotel. Breakfast buffet for 2 people works out to be about 30 per person. Lunch for chips & guacamole, cheeseburger & fries, chicken sandwich & chips, & a coke & a virgin piña colada was 72.00. Dinner was over 100, so be prepared if you eat at the hotel

The most friendliest staff I have ever encountered! Very helpful with all the plans I had for the week. They were very accommodating with all my needs, as well. The room was cleaned twice daily and the housekeepers do a great job! The beach was perfect -- not crowded --and the guys are always at your service. My stay was one of the best weeks ever!

One of the most pampering Hospitality service by staff. Yet it was disappointing to see old worn out furniture along with old decor and artworks. Lobbies furniture been upholster but still ripped and worn out. wood walls are piling and not appealing at all. beach is excellent, pool is good but walls need repair. Hotel is very clean and Staff everywhere is just outstanding and they sure go out of their way to accommodate you. Only disappointment was they could not honor our request fro two bed even though we requested to Expedia and called Ritz to confirm. Wi fi was poor and slow

First time ever in Mexico, Cancun or a Ritz-Carlton. The hotel was very nice....not overly posh or stuffy. The staff was available and willing to help with any questions about the hotel, attractions, restaurants, transportation or Cancun area.. As hotels go, prices are inflated at the restaurant and gift shops but that is to be expected and not complained about. There were absolutely NO Extra hidden fees or charges at check-out. Great experience at the Ritz-Carlton.....If ever in Cancun Mexico again, we would go back to RC without any second thoughts.

We stayed for 12 nights at the Ritz. This was not our first time in a Ritz and we have to state the following: - peronnel is well trained and very friendly and helpful - the standard rooms are outdated - restaurants are very good but really pricy-breakfast costs pp. ....not good compared to other hotels there...ME was way better! - sun chairs are old and sometimes broken - fitness facilities are well maintained and well equipped - beach is awesome !!! *** We moved to club level after complaining about somebody vacuuming at 1:00am an people being very loud on their way back to their rooms in the middle of the night....*** - club level rooms are remodeled - club level service is outstanding - AC in upper level is unable to maintain 73F in the summer... even at night. - club level had some dressing requirements for certain events...deliberately ignored by... lets say folks being too much into themselves to care... there are very good restaurants accross the street for a reasonable price. As always, the VIP status with Expedia does not open any door or makes your stay any better.....

My experience at the Ritz Carlton Cancun was by far my best stay. The service and all the people that waited on us were extremely helpful, kind and professional. the food at the Grill was exquisite and the meals served on the beach were also succulent. I have no regrets only that the food in cancun is expensive but well worth it at the Hotel.

We stayed at several 5 star resorts in Cancun and Ritz excelled in some categories but was worse in others. Wins: Service is bar none. Restaurant Fantino at Ritz provided us with the best dining experience we ever had. We ate at best restaurants in Paris, SF, Venice but Fantino really rolled out a red carpet for only $200 for two with wine. Free refreshement frescas on the beach and scented towels were a nice touch. The umbrella service was excellent. Location was perfect as its 5 min walk to awesome argentinian steak house Puerto Madera and the marina where they have deep sea fishing charters. I even had the hotel grill the fish I caught! Also important: good crowd. No drunks or ghetto ppl here. Go to live aqua if you want a meat market type of athmosphere. Losses. The pool area is boring and poorly decorated. Its just very average. No swim up bar or nothing like Fiesta Americana had. Maybe thats why its caller fiesta ;). Minor thing but metal keys instead of plastic cards were kind of annoying and inconvenient. The safe in the room was too small and also had metal key and not the code which was extremely inconvenient. They gotta change that for sure.

OVERALL: Extremely disappointing stay, especially considering this hotel is rated so high and it's suppose to be a RITZ. The entire hotel and grounds are outdated, in need of repair and maintenance. ROOMS: Room's are terrible, based on location of the south wing of the hotel, ALL the rooms fill up with smoke from the beach restaurant due to improper sealing of the balcony doors, at times it was getting so bad it was hard to breathe, when we mentioned the issue to the hotel staff they offered us a Febreze air freshener (I guess that's the RITZ type of treatment). Besides being filled with smoke, bathrooms had a constant sewer smell. It was impossible to take a bath and not feel sick from the smell. Although considering the smoked filled room, smell of the sewer was a refreshing break. FOOD: Hotel breakfast was completely overpriced and terrible quality. ACTIVITIES: Got nickel and dimed for everything. Even kids painting activities by the pool cost $10.00 each time. Very sad considering this is suppose to be a 5 start family friendly hotel.

Every aspect of the Ritz was top notch. We had one on the newly renovated rooms with an ocean view and balcony. The room and bathroom both displayed luxury decor and finishes. The rooms were always well kept and attended to. Almost every employee knew your name. Having stayed at other top tier hotels around the world, I would have to say the service and the hospitality of the staff was above and beyond any other place. From the doormen, the beach and pool staff, front desk and housekeeping...everyone made sure your every need was met. I'd say the only negative about our stay which had nothing to do with the Ritz was (1) with their preferred travel agency company (Olympic Tours). They had incorrectly booked our tour to Tulum and Coba for another day and we unfortunately had to redesign our vacation without these tours. (2) The draw of guests. Believe me I understand the idea of paying a premium to stay at any Ritz Carlton however I am also always humble in my stays and always treat the staff and other guests with respect. I observed many "well to do" guests acting very entitled and down right rude. I observed many talking down to the staff, throwing their their towels or napkins on the floor like it was their home and letting their ugly children run around during the buffet breakfast and in the common areas. To put it simply the place attracts a fair share of lazy rich people. If you can get over that you are good.

It was a good experience overall. Staff are awesome! Housekeeping is great! TD is good. They missed some details during TD service. They removed my bathrobe and I did not get another one. Sometimes they forgot to replenish washcloths. We stayed in 5th floor and the smell when you get off the main elevator is disgusting (pee smell). We needed to use another elevator the whole stay to have access to our room (2nd floor) due to this issue. It's unacceptable!! Too bad for a Hotel like this one!! OLD and WORN. They need to remodel the Hotel ASAP. Deep clean is urgent in rooms. Sinks in baths have gross stuff

The hotel is exceptionally designed, located in the hotel zone of cancun, which is a narrow strip of land between the carrebian sea and a beautiful lake separating the area from downtown. The hotel beach is on the carrebian with fantastic facilities, service, plush and pampering surrounding. Really a memorable experience with attention to every little detail including regular perfumed cool wettened towels for refreshment of pool and sea dwellers, free Popsicles, and much more :) The staff are friendly, fellow ritzonianz are friendly too, we would definitely come back.

We have stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Cancun so many times now we have lost count, and we will continue to go back because the service is exceptional. It may be their job, but they do it well and sincerely. From the moment you arrive you will be treated wonderfully and they will go out of their way to ensure everything is the way you want it. We always stay club level to enjoy the five food and drink presentations they have daily which are included with the extra fee. I also recommend the beach Cabana. It's more that worth the additional charge to enjoy the beds and swinging hammock it includes and the service that comes with it is fantastic. We also always make sure and eat dinner at the Club Grill. Long pants required, but the food is great and the restaurant is classic and beautiful. It's a great place to celebrate a special event. Make sure and let them know in advance and they will more than surprise you.

We had a great 6-night stay at the Ritz Carlton Cancun during our recent vacation. Everything is first class, facility, service, comfort, food. Highly recommend the 2 AAA 5 diamond restaurants in the hotel: Fantino and the Club Grill. There are no Michelin star restaurants in Cancun, and the highest rated are AAA 5-diamond I think. There is total 3 in Cancun, and the Ritz Carlton has 2. Both are equally fantastic. For quality food lovers, you don't want to miss them out.

This is the typical Ritz, however the staff and service were off the chart! The food is great with excellent choices of several restaurants and a beach grill that was outstanding. There are umbrellas and cabanas that are on the beach and the beach service is outstanding as well. The water is a beautiful clear turquoise and the sand is bright white!

This was our first time to Cancun, but not the first time we have stayed in a 5 star hotel. This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. We spent 5 nights there, price was extremely reasonable for Cancun. Staff were always there to cater to our every whim. Turn down service every night was basically the same as the housekeeping in the am. It was really nice to come back to a clean room nearly every time we left. Food very good as well, a little on the expensive side, but the beach and poolside service was hard to turn down. Staff walked around handing outcold, lightly scented washcloths. It was such a treat.

Heated swimming pool, very comfortable. Large room, cleaned twice a day. The only thing I don't like the hotel was that the first room they gave to us was probably the worst room in the hotel. It was dark, the ocean view was totally blocked by the trees. Even they changed the room for us after we complained, I still think they should give us a nice room the first time.

The hotel staff were awesome. We visited a couple of other properties in Cancun and none of them could hold a candle to the Ritz. The food was phenomenal but of course expensive. In this case you get what you pay for. Given the higher costs in the hotel zone overall it didn't seem out of line.

Service at the hotel was the best, very attentive in all respects from doorman to beach attendants. Hotel room was very comfortable and was a quiet environment. Facilities ranged from luxurious to a very nice bar grill by the beach and pool areas..

The staff was excellent and we wanted for nothing. We had a wonderful romantic long weekend. Excellent location for nice nearby restaurants. The concierge picked incredible restaurants for us.
