It is a very basic inn which has a great location right in downtown. They offer free shuttle pickup and dropoff to the airport (10 min away) and meet our most important requirement which is cleaness. Stayed once before in early spring, met basic needs. This time conditions were worse. No AC in hotel, need to open window to very noisy street. Loud cars and people till 2am at least. Asked hotel staff for a fan, was told by front desk they have no idea where they are and are not going looking now. That was at 4pm. Never again!

The room was very comfortable but i was so tired I could have crashed in a barn on that evening..My room was supposed to be an upgrade to a deluxe suite but I think i got the smallest room in the hotel . The room was clean but the tv was not working The desk manager tried to help but couldn't get it working either. The attached mall is full of empty stores, and the restaurant was not open, the lounge was closed too. No amenities avaiable in the immediate area. Would have to go a fair since for a meal or drink.

Good location but overall upkeep of the hotel is not very satisfactory. Lobby area is very small for a large hotel. No facilities for breakfast before 8:00 am. Excellent location but parking was a pain. Always felt badly about needint to bother security to get in and out. Room was quite small and not well dusted. Found it quite hot at times. I spend 4 nights at the end of July 12 and my entire stay was really good. The price was really good. The staff is more than helpful and very friendly. The rooms are like closets and the beds are smaller then normal beds. There is no air conditioning, the windows have no screens. house keeping only makes the bed and give you clean towels. They do not dust or empty ash trays or garbage for that matter. Front desk staff are very unfriendly, would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were "stuck" in Yellowknife due to airport delays for two nights. The first night we stayed at a nearby hotel and it was the worst hotel we had ever stayed in. We left early in the morning to get a new hotel and we checked in at the Yellowknife Inn. They were kind enough to let us check in early since they had availability. The management was excellent […] and made sure we were set up and comfortable. Hotel room was modest size but exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. Location was excellent as it is attached to a mall and everything you need is there. (Shopping, restaurant, spa, barber etc) Also great location for walking around town and seeing museum etc...all is within walking distance. They also had airport shuttle service that goes to and from theairport for every flight that lands or leaves from Yellowknife. Overall our stay was excellent and we will gladly return there whenever we are in Yellowknife again. This will be our first choice......and we would recommend it be yours as well! Read more

Food, service and atmosphere was good in attached bar/restaurant. The outside of the hotel was horrible and the room was dark because the balcony had been blocked off leaving only 1 window. The beds were very comfy and the bathroom excellent but it was a bit cramped by furniture. We had to ask for anything we wanted eg coffee, towels, beds made up; […] the service was very casual. Hotel is in a rather sketchy part of downtown. Be prepared to listen to a lot of drunks screaming and fighting on 50th Street on the back end of the hotel. That street also holds a lot of rather interesting characters and drug dealing during daylight hours. The locals stated this is the worst street in the downtown, so be careful on your hours leaving […] the hotel. Rooms were decent and clean, but not compareable to others at the price per night. Girls at the front desk were very unfriendly, and we're more interested in talking to each other or answering text messages rather than serve a check in/out or field questions, as a few people were always waiting and frustrated when walking by. When I arrived I was given key to room,when I went up to room, it was not ready and was told that someone was in it. Went back to desk and clerk called housekeeping who told her that the room was not cleaned yet and they did not know someone was coming. Given new room, but this was right by ice machine, pop machine and the elevator. Again went back […] to reception and given the original room at a later time in the day. The receptionist was trying to handle everything as was very helpful but the communication to the front desk from housekeeping was not very good. Room was very hot and yet the heat was not on, had to open window but room did not cool done very well. Bathroom was adequate but tub had broken porcelain around the drain which was very ugly and there was hair on the shower curtain. I would only stay again because of the location to the place that I needed to be at, but will consider other accommodation first. Read more

This hotel is at the center of yellowknife. So, you can approcah easily to downtown. And room and facilities are comfortable. Considering yellowknife and the price is littel bit expensive, you can stay here with satisfaction.

More comfortable rooms than the Explorer. Most of the desk clerks are very nice and helpful, one in particular was quite the opposite. I'll book there again next time I'm in town and hope to see her with a better attitude (or not at all).

Happened to be a very warm weekend with high humidity in Yellowknife. Room was warm as there was no air conditioning. Hotel supplied a fan and I understand air conditioning is coming. Room was clean and staff (cleaning and desk) were very courteous and helpful.

The only problem with our stay was difficulty in parking. We had to contend with parking meters in front during business hours and the back parking was locked and unlocked by security which was a hassel. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel itself was pretty nice but some of the people on the street where pretty rough. Make sure you call ahead and reserve underground parking. Numerous good restaurants nearby. Overall a good place to stay with no surprises.

This hotel is convenient to downtown and provides service to and from the airport. it also has a safety feature in that only if you have a room key can you get on to the elevator, or into the hotel from the attached plaza.

We stayed five nights at the Yellowknife Inn during a recent trip. The hotel was very convenient, within walking distance of the downtown core and old town. Our room was clean and functional, but there were some downsides. Our view was of the rooftop of the building next door, the hotel is looking a bit tired, and our room keys -- which are needed to […] get into the elevator -- were apparently wiped by our cellphones. That's something I haven't run into before. Access to the restaurant is through a small shopping centre on the first level, which requires a key swipe to enter. That's a bit less convenient. In general, it was a place to stay but not a destination on its own. I would stay there again because the price was quite good, but don't check in expecting a lot of amenities. Read more

I was on route elswhere only for one night. I had asked that I be awaken at 4AM but I never heard the phone, maybe the volume was off I don't know. The temperature in the room was 28C no air conditioning and one small window with no air circulation. I will not be staying there again.

Stayed there for a weekend during a hot dry spell. The rooms have no air conditioning. My window opened to a roof top where the mechanical systems were located , which made a consistant roar. The neighbourhood is downtown but full of homeless people. The hotel has very little in the way of on site services. I would not stay there again.
