The Sheraton has just completed a multi million dollar renovation and everything at the hotel is brand new. The room was perfect. The hotel sports bar was a great place to watch all of the Thanksgiving weekend college football games with a 104" big screen surrounded by six other tv's. Fantastic! The only negatives were that the coffee shop was closed during our stay and valet was a little pricey.Biggest pet peeve was the gouging of $4.50 for a one litre bottle of nestle spring water in the rooms when we had bought a case of 24 for less than that at the grocery store that day before. If you are going to place water in the room at least make it a percieved value. Other than that the stay was great and it will become our new place to stay in Big D!

The restaurant & bar staff were very friendly and provided great service. The environment and furnishings were plush. We encountered a couple of issues though, one minor & one major. The minor issue was that they had no record of the breakfast which was included in the rate we booked. The guy who checked us in said it was no problem and promptly added the breakfast to our booking, but it was a bit annoying that it wasn't already noted. The major issue was the cleanliness of the room. At first we found plastic shirt stays on the floor (no big deal), but when we found toenail clippings, it proved a bit much. No excuse for it. Disgusting. We won't stay again.

It was next to impossible to get someone on the phone for anything. It took over five minutes of the phone ringing to get the hotel operator to answer the phone. Front desk wasn't any better. Asked for extra towels, never showed up. Parking charges were inappropriate and should be included in room charge. Good location, but not worth the price. Will not stay here again. Only good thing at the hotel was the bar/grill downstairs.

This was a romantic getaway and we both enjoyed it to the fullest, I'll do it again..!

The room was amazing and the personnel were helpful to a certain point. However, for the type of event I was there for a major part of it was everyone bringing anime or videogames and hanging out together when they was nothing of interest going on at the convention. This was unfortunately made near to impossible by the placement of a TV Command unit that, without the use of special tools, cannot be removed. Based of this it was also my conclusion that the TV's themselves were rigged to not respond to any of the buttons on the TV itself. That was a major let down for all guests there for the convention, to my knowledge. Also, the hours of operation for the fine dining restaraunt in-house was a slight dissappointment; as well as the neccessity to pay for internet service were most other hotels it comes with the payment of the room. The only other bad experience was the fact that on my last day I was left with no other option than a cold shower. :-( But, please do not let this put you off. The accomadations were quite nice and these events mentioned were verily the only drawbacks to my stay.

The price of the hotel room was good for the location (downtown Dallas), for the comfort, and the for the room, but I want to let everyone know that even though I paid for this room through Hotels.com, the hotel wanted me to give them a crdeit card in the event that I used any of thier service that I would normally be billed for i.e. High speed internet, pay movies etc. Not a problem. What I did have a problem with, was that the clerk who checked me in and took my card, went and basically charged me for my room on that card, AGAIN, and put me over my limit, messed up my interest rate on that card for going over, and put me in town without any money. The management said they woudl take care of the problem, but it wouldn't be until the next day! I had to raise Hell to get the manager to come from his office to speak to me in person, and get him to take car of it NOW. When I was standing there waiting for him to remedy the problem, I saw a few clerks ask for the deposit from other customers, but ask for $50 cash if they had it. If I would have been made aware of this option, I would have done this, and saved myself lots of trouble. So this is my advice to you; give them the money, and kepp your card safe from error.

I have never been disappointed with the rooms and the service as a whole and this time was no different. There were some new renovations that had taken effect during my stay that kind of restricted the lobby area rather than expand it, but the changes did look nice (besides I don't stay in lobby, I stay in the guest rooms and they were wecoming and spacious as usual). The bathrooms in the North tower guest rooms are HUGE byt he way. Anyway, it was a great stay and I'm sure I will be participating in the Sheraton experience again sometime soon.

We checked in late (after dinner) and our first room had only 1 king bed (there were 3 of us and we requested 2 queens). So they changed it. We went to the room and the room key did not work. They came to try and fix it but could not. So we went down to the lobby and got another room. We went to that room and it was empty (it had no furniture). The hotel was remodeling and upgrading some rooms and that was why. We went to our next room and got in there and the phone rang - it was the front desk. Apparently, since we were staying 2 nights that room was already reserved for the next night. We went down to get our FIFTH room and the manager came out to apologize and gave us 2 free breakfast certificates and upgraded us to an executive suite on the preferred guest floor. It was handled very professionally and he was nice (so was the front desk and security!). All in all, a potential bad situation that ended up good.
