This was my second and final stay at this hotel. There is always an outrageous line at the registration desk- no excuse that a hotel of this size doesn’t employee more staff- especially when they know they are going to be full or it’s going to be a busy weekend. I called the concierge for over 30 mins to try to get boxes delivered to my room on a Saturday morning and never once got an answer. I finally had to go down with wet hair and no makeup to ask for boxes to be delivered so that I wasn’t late for work- it still took another 30 mins and a call to get them. In the end I was late to work as a result... However, the nail in the coffin for me was the fact that the wifi cut out every 2-5 mins. This is unacceptable for business travelers and inexcusable in this day in age. I’d rather be charged and have reliable internet than free internet that doesn’t work. It didn’t work any better in the lobby and you have to pay to use the lobby computers. I chatted with several other patrons in the elevator who experienced the same problems. Not at all friendly to the business traveler. A large group of my colleagues and I have stayed her in the past and NONE of us will ever return and we wouldn’t recommend it to any of our other colleagues. The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location. Even that couldn’t get me to return.

This hotel was located relatively close to downtown; was staying for a conference and this was one of the cheaper hotels, although it was a 30 minute walk to where I needed to go; The hotel was nice and well kept; although the room was small, it was very clean and comfortable

I was put in room 1934 which was on the street side but failed to mention that there was work going on late at night. Friday evening it started on the building across the street where they were installing beams and hammering on them with sledge hammers. The Chelsea Hotel knew this was going on and the length of my stay and still put me on that side of the building. This noise continued well into the night, the Hotel offered to move me but this would have taken a lot of time, it was past midnight and I had to be up at 6:30 AM to prepare for a meeting, so"NO" I was not happy with the way it was handled by putting me in that room on that side of the hotel to see if I would complain knowing full well there was a problem.

My wife and I were in Toronto for a few days to see the sites. We were a little nervous about the noise in the hotel because of it's enormous size. However, the room was quiet and clean. Don't get me wrong, the lobby is crazy busy and there can be a long line to check in/ out, but that's a minor concern. The subway, trolley, Dundas Square, Yonge Street, and Downtown are all within easy walking distance. Will stay there again. PS. If you like Thai food, eat at Thai on Yonge, just steps from the hotel door. It's upstairs and doesn't look like much, but they have the most authentic papaya salad we've had outside Thailand. Have fun

Lobby and all downstairs common area, including pool/gym have been renovated and/or maintained nicely. The rooms are small but functional. The lint in vents that have been there for months, feet of rolling wall paper off the room walls, and leftover looking yard sale furniture were dissapointing. The downstairs is 4 star and rooms 2 star. A little TLC and rooms would be a 3 or more star to more closely match the downstairs. Concierge and desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Fix up the rooms and it's a place I'd return to.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel during our Toronto visit. Location is great, right in downtown Toronto, close to most major attractions for those visiting the first time. Hotel is just couple blocks away from Subway and cable cars. Sucks to drive out on the weekdays to nearby towns though... you can't make turns anywhere!!! Your GPS will reroute a lot; No turning on main streets like Yonge and Bay (Mon-Fri/Sat 7am-7pm?), good thing Canadians are friendly drivers, or you'll have very frustrating driving experience. Decor of the lobby almost had me fooled... it was nice, bright, clean and NEW. Can't say the same for their rooms though. I don't know about the other sections of the hotel rooms, but the Green sections of room we stayed in were really dated, though clean. The two double bed room we had were smaller than imagined; it's nice that they had a balcony for each room, I'd rather they use that space for a bigger room. No fridge, unless you are willing to pay $10/day rental on top of the $30/day self parking we had to pay already. Bathroom was weird... it's a table with a sink in the middle. It's open bottom, no cabinets but just a board on the bottom... nope, can use that for storage of anything, water leaks when you turn on the faucet. That's my only complain of the bathroom. I probably won't stay here again.

The hotel was fine. If i had paid full price I would have been unhappy. The internet was horrible, almost unusable. Most of the staff was friendly. We went to the lounge on the top floor and told we had to leave because we were not premier members, this was fine, our money worked across the street. The room itself was fine, like I said you are paying for the location. My parents were in the room next to us and their phone didn't work. There was also cigarette butts on their balcony and empty cans of food. Gross.

I spent 3 nights in Eaton Chelsea, a hotel that wants to be, pricewise, a Hyatt/Hilton/Marriott etc, but in reality is giant motel and a nickel-and-diming machine. The hotel has as much warmth as a railway station. Acres of naked low-quality marble floor welcome the traveler. The cavernous lobby, always overcrowded despite of its jumbo size, is a confusing labyrinth. Three street exits are matched by three different sets of elevators serving randomly selected floors; two extra elevators go to two separate sections of underground garage. $250+ room price doesn't get you a complimentary breakfast while room service offers only fast food. The room felt Motel 8-ish. Eateries: a sports bar adorned with sweaty hockey jerseys and featuring a collection of fat-based chow and an elephant-sized "restaurant" with sparsely populated islands serving carbos, proteins and fiber disguised as food. Breakfast for two will set you back $45+. Starbuck's-priced coffee of office quality nicely rounds up the experience. The garage offers an interesting challenge of parking spaces and ramps that cannot accommodate an SUV, but hotel offers a generous discount for guests: a $1 down from the $30+tax rate. But hey, you get unlimited in/out "privileges" so your car is not under arrest. Seemingly, since I had to spend several minutes trying to get by vehicles blocking garage entrances. Bottom line: be prepared to spend twice the published price tag and feel handled.

Hotel is in excellent location, always busy but the front desk staff are quick and keep the lines moving. We stayed in a basic room which was adequate though on the small side and rather worn, furniture looked a bit knocked about and you could feel carpet tacks if you stepped on the carpeting next to the bathroom door. The bed was incredibly comfortable which was a real plus. Our last night the cleaning staff did not give us new towels even though we put the old ones on the floor and the air conditioning died during the night. We were too tired from a wedding we had attended to call the front desk, so can't blame them on that one. They tout that they have free internet but it is so slow you can barely get your email. I would not recommend this hotel to people, but also would not dissuade them either.

I was told this was the largest hotel in Toronto by the bartender. I had asked if the week I stayed was particularly busy, he replied not really. I was surprised as it took nearly 45 minutes to check in, at 6pm on a Tuesday. While sitting in queue waiting to check in, no fewer than 3 concierges were just sitting at the concierge desk. I asked if they could check me in, considering there were 3 empty terminals at the check in desk. They answered no, as if I asked the ridiculous question. That that pretty much describes my stay, for the price the amenities were nice, but don't expect service. Room service was an hour later than they told me it would be. There was a strange charge on my card from the hotel and during checkout, which took 20 minutes, the staffer looked at me like I was crazy.

Very unhappy at the condition of the bathroom. There were cracked floor tiles which made the floor look dirty. There were cracks in the sink, again making it look dirty and uncared for. There were hairs in the bathtub when we arrived, and they were still there after the room had been cleaned. Used glasses were not removed and total amount of towels was lessened than the day before. We were very disappointed in the housekeeping and condition of bathroom.

The hotel is centrally located. There are several very nice restaurants in very close proximity. Quite a few busy and very interesting pubs in the area, too. There is a club in the hotel that has live music....jazz, blues, and rock. The food in the hotel is good. The staff was very courteous and prompt to answer requests. The rooms were a little older and could have used an update, but the bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff did a very good job. Our overall experience was positive.

What a highlight! This hotel made our stay in Toronto with its beautiful balcony views of the city & water from our room, comfy beds, nice pools (1 family with water slide & arcade room; 1 adult pool with hot tub & exercise room). Stunning roof deck with tables & chaises lounges and views of the CN tower. The hotel offers food for all tastes: omnivores, vegetarians & gluten free eaters - which is so helpful for a diverse family! A lovely outdoor patio with bubbling fountain, adjacent to the buffet-style restaurant, is a great sunny way to start the morning. Breakfast buffet (until 11:30-ish) includes hand-crafted expressos/lattes,cappuccinos,fresh fruits, (the good stuff: berries, pineapple, melons, grapes & more) yogurts & granola, omelettes, ham, rosemary potatoes, toast, english muffins, bagels, lox, cream cheese, fresh croissants, muffins & pastries. We didn't lunch there, but did enjoy a live jazz combo, wine, beer & cocktails in the Pub downstairs. Our GF vegetarian also enjoyed the gluten free veggie pizza day & night! Location is great! Walk thirty seconds in any direction to attractions, shopping, eating, etc. If you're up for a musical, the Mirvish Theatre (among others) is about a 5-10 minutes pleasant walk, full of people, street performers, dazzling lights, etc.

A good hotel in a nice location. Rates were a little high for the amenities and room, but not a bad place to stay.

The hotel is quite busy, very big one with everything size brings with it: long queuing up for check-in and out, waiting time for the elevators, noise... But the location is excellent and i would definitely stay there again.

Upon check in, the staff member checking us in gave our son a free gift bag of games (Rubio cube, slinky & mini chutes & ladders). While checking in, there was a cool talking robot greeting kids, however it was so loud you could hardly hear the hotel staff person checking you in. The Room was updated & nice. Beds & pillows VERY comfy. However, the carpets by & leading away from the elevators were grimy & sticky in spots. Elevators were extremely small and guests had to wait for the next elevator to stop because the elevator that did stop was too full. Chlorine in the family pool was so high in concentration that it made your eyes sting while you were watching your child go down the waterslide. There was a change machine in the arcade, but the type of coins it gave you, you couldn't play any of the games, because they didn't take those coins. There was not a separate area for guests to check out of the hotel. You had to stand & wait in the same long line with guests checking in. Front Desk staff were not very friendly. Parking complex was HORRIBLE & VERY small to move your car through for the amount of money they charged per night. You had to keep driving further and further underground that you thought you would reach fire & brimstone!

Our previous stay in the Chelsea was far better. The fan in the bathroom did not work. I didn't realize how bad it was til the next day. The condensation in the bathroom was horrific. Staining and mold started to show as the water drops forming on the ceiling magnified the lack of maintenance. The hotel wasn't quite up to the same level as it was when it was the Delta Chelsea. Last time we stayed, we overlooked Dundas Square and felt good about staying there. This time, we questioned whether we could have made a better choice.

This hotel looks way better online then in person! I am always optimistic but the truth is this place was extremely crowded. The reception layout is horrible. The building itself once you go up the elevators through the halls is in poor condition. Filthy carpets line all the halls. The baseboards are all dirty and worn as well. The rooms were a bit better but again the bathrooms were in very poor condition with tiles all marked up. Old tubs and worn out sink areas & toilets. The window & terrace area dirty too. Extreme disappointment for me. We will definitely not be back here again.

First room had an overpowering odour of cigarette smoke, immediately requested another room after walking in; also the bathroom looked as if it had not been cleaned. The second room also had a somewhat dirty bathroom but only a slight odour that could be ignored. We figured it likely wouldn't get any better, so we stayed there. Hotel looks generally run down outside of the lobby, staff was friendly and helpful.
