"Good hotel, great location ... very BUSY"
Was pleased with my stay at the Eaton Chelsea. Owners have done a good job updating what looks like a 1970s-era facility. Room decor was modern, bright, clean. Bathroom in my standard queen room was tiny though, and door didn't shut completely (nice bathroom amenities, however). Staff are super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Location is great, right in city center at Gerrard and Yonge. Only drawback was a very noisy, crowded lobby...but that's unavoidable with a hotel of this size at this type of location. Overall, great value for the money....

"Noisy tired hotel"
The lobby and elevators are very tired looking. The rooms are a little tired looking but were clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location was ideal for my purposes. The neighbourhood was quiet. The hotel, however, caters to groups and families so I never got a good nights sleep any of the three nights that I was there. Four other people on the same conference I was on stayed in this hotel also and had similar or worse experiences on different floors. There were 18 to 20 something kids yelling and hanging out in the hallways two nights and blue jays fans yellig the next night. There were beer cans on decorative hallway tables in the morning, wall sconces knocked sideways on walls etc. I would not stay here again.

"Centrally located in Toronto"
This is a big hotel, in terms of rooms and footprint in a great location near Dundas Square. Lots of places within the property and nearby for eating, etc. Room was good, not super-nice but clean and well kept. Staff was helpful and courteous. Check in was busy but moved along at a decent pace. This would definitely be a property for me to consider on my next trip to Toronto if my preferred property is not available.

Disappointing hotel because it was an over 1500 room warehouse. Housekeeping staff was great. Front desk tried to charge more for an upgrade when we selected rooms that could be adjoining several weeks before. Rooms were worn and tubs were not level.

"Nice hotel"
Great location. Enjoyed the music in the bar. Comfortable room. Only complaint was we couldn't control the heat and it was like a sauna. A custodian was sent up immediately and basically just turned it off. That was OK with us. We opened the window and enjoyed the unseasonaly warm weather.

"parking aint always free"
well it would have been nice to know that when they say parking is included downtown that its only if your vehicle is less than 5'5" so had to spend extra 39 dollars to valet park my pick up truck .

"Close to the hustle and bustle of Yonge Street"
When the hotel was part of another chain, I had stayed here several times. I hadn't been here since it switched chains and I noticed how the lobby and dining areas looked refreshed. The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed. It was fine for a two-night stay. I wouldn't wish to stay longer as the room I was in was not particularly quiet. I could hear the guests in the room next door as though they were in my room. They weren't "partiers" or anything like that, just normal conversation and such. One could also hear hallway noise and street noise, even though the windows were closed. I have no complaints about the staff -- they were kind and courteous.

"NO COMFORTABLE WITH PRICING"
I RENT 2 ROOMS FOR 3 OF US, THEY GAVE US TWO ROOMS WITH ONE BAD EACH, BEFORE ARRIVING I CALLED THE HOTEL SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AND HE STATED THAT SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM, WHEN WE ARRIVE TO THE HOTEL, I WAS TOLD TA I NEEDED TO PAY 10 DOLLARS EXTRA PER EACH DAY IF I WANTED DOUBLE BED IN ONE OF THE ROOMS. THIS WAS A VERY DISAPOINTING SITUATION.

The hotel was nice however we stayed over the busy Easter weekend and only two of the elevators for our floor were working. I had to wait 10 minutes for an elevator one morning.

"Disappointed"
Lobby/dining/bar was decent, rooms (standard) were terrible. Balcony door in one room was broken and had been taped with duct tape but cold air coming through was awful. Very tacky. Beer bottles sat in hallway for two days while maids passed them several times. Would not recommend or revisit. When we complained about the rooms they did, however, not charge us for valet parking. That made it a little more palatable.

"PARKING WOES/SMALL ROOMS"
The hotel is good but the rooms are way too small as a result we had to upgrade. When we arrived at our new room there were only two pillows per bed. Also upon our departure from the hotel we wanted to walk around outside. We were told that we would have to pay $4 per hour. When we told them that we paid the parking of $29 plus tax for the day we checked out. We were told that fee only covered up until we actually checked out. Which didn't seem right to me. I don't think I would ever stay there again unless I won a nights stay there. The staff were helpful and friendly though.

Rooms were very small. The heat didn't work. It stayed at one temperature the entire time. The fan on it didn't work either. There needs to be a fan in the bathroom along with more lighting. The kids pool area was ok. The pool was small and at 4ft 7 inches deep it was hard for my little guy to enjoy

"Very disappointed"
I reserve for 2 adults and a 16 years kid, a room with 2 queen size beds but when I check in because they guarantee the accommodation for 3 people per room but not the beds, they want to give me a room with a king size bed. had no choice and had to pay 40 dollars more per night and so to sleep in a room with 2 queen size beds.

"Nice hotel"
Nice accommodation. But we weren't happy with the service. We were charged $10 plus tax to upgrade to Deluxe room because the room we booked was not ready even though it passed the normal check-in time. And the Deluxe room looks exactly like the standard room we booked. We addressed our concern to the front desk when we checked out but were told that it was the Deluxe room which is fine. But the standard room should have been ready at normal check-in time.

"Analog television!"
Great location! The Internet connection was not consistent. The work done in the lobby is great. I was disappointed to have a digital tv but did not appreciate watching it in analog. When I called the front desk no one seemed to understand high definition.

I got an exceptionally good rate on Expedia. On arrival, paid a deposit for incidentals, which I understood to cover minor charges and meals. On second day, I was informed (rather tersely) that the deposit did not cover meals and was asked to pay cash but "just this time" they would charge it to my room. Well, OK but they could have told me first. It was a little embarrassing standing there holding up the line while the front desk gave the cashier a stern message to pass on to me in front of everybody. I overlooked it because of my discount rate but I would have complained if I were paying the full charge. TLG

"The hotel needs to pay attention to the details..."
the room we had was fine, but the bathroom had a ticking sound that never went away... I complained and they sent someone to see what the problem was, but they could not fix it @ 11;00 pm... they offered to move us but I had a very sick person in the room .. also the TV remote was broken... the hotel is starting to look beat... the elevators were in ruff shape inside.. bolts were missing that held the brass handrail`s on ... I been going there for 35 plus years , its time to find a new hotel to stay at.. p/s they did credit me back 1/2 of the room charge but still did not make up for a BAD nights sleep, then had to drive 4 hours home ...

Disappointing. The room was very cold. When called the front desk, I was told to adjust the thermostat and wait. After 2h wearing winter jacket in the room, I called the front desk again and this time I was moved to another room which was warmer. I am also disappointed with one of the front desk person at the check out who was rude. I still like the location of the hotel.
