"Overpriced for what you get."
We have stayed at this hotel under the former ownership, Delta Hotels for the last 10 years, and the attention to detail in housekeeping was a major flaw in the new Eaton brand name, and other problems arose as well. When we checked in and arrived at our room, it was HOT. The A/C in most of the building was not working. We tried to open the sliding […] door to our balcony and it wouldn't open. They have 6 elevators that service floors 17-28. Only TWO were working. The maid forgot to make up our room one day, even after coming into the room and leaving new towels without taking away the old ones. We caled maintainence and they did manage to get the door to the balcony open for air. They did fix the A/C within 24 hours, and they did get 5 of the six elevators operational. However, these things should NOT happen in the first place. Especially when the new company raised it's rates about 30% for the weekend we were there. All that being said, the Hotel does have a great pool area, nice amenities, and a refrubished lobby area that is nice. If their prices continue to be high, we will have to look elsewhere next time. "Close to The Village "Gay Community""
The bed was comfortable and the balcony was nice. The room needs some renovation as well as the bathroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathroom sink was clogged at first but maintenance came up and fixed it right away. Only complaints I guess was that the ice machine on our floor was broken & wasn't able to be fixed. Also the fact that they hold 40% of your stay PLUS the total price of your stay on your card until you check out. […] So we had to go to the floor downstairs every time we needed ice. Pool area on roof top was also great. Would stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was mostly a pleasant stay, except for the man urinating on the sidewalk, as we ate breakfast out on the patio.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Over-all this weekend was not too bad. It was close to the shopping areas as well as the night-life. No taxi was needed, that's how close it is to everything. I've stayed at this hotel before and at that time it had more in room amenities. This time around it had no tissues, didn't have the high quality towels as it did in the past and the internet […] service was poor. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great weekend getaway"
I had a pleasant experience at the hotel. Most of the reviews on here are right. They do have lines when you check in or out but they move quickly! The lady at the front desk made it worth the wait since she was warm and welcoming to the hotel. We stayed in a 1 room with a queen seize bed. The room was clean and the lady who cleans the room was on the […] floor each morning. They do not have a continental breakfast and parking is expensive apprx $30 a night. However, location is awesome! You are right by Toronto's "time square". Also you can walk anywhere otherwise if you take your car you can be in traffic, spend gas money or pay for temporary parking. I had a great time. Hopefully this review will help. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Conveniently located, comfortable hotel"
Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Close to public transportation and shopping. Concierge helpful, staff friendly. Very large hotel, crowded and busy, but room was quiet and getting around the hotel was easy and quick. Will stay here again for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Middle of things with everything I needed"
I stayed at the Chelsea for a conference that took place at Ryerson University with some activities at U. of Toronto. The room was just a bit tight, but in the winter it would seem cozy. While the public layout in and off the lobby seems awkward at first, it makes sense after the first day. Food and entertainment options are excellent. The location […] was perfect. The festivals that took place during our stay packed the area with happy people, but they pulled the electronic plug at 10 p.m. to allow for early business. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good priced hotel downtown"
Very friendly staff. Nice location. Good restaurants and bars in hotel. Also, Airport Shuttle drops at the door.Genuine Expedia guest review
first room smelled like cigarette smoke, 2nd room had red/brown stains on the comforter, and the AC didnt work, 3rd room was finally decent enough. I am not a picky person and RARELY complain about room quality, but this was just not acceptableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a huge hotel very well located within walking distance of many interesting Toronto neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are worn. Other than a flat-screen tv, the room appointments are dated. I also feel that I was lucky to be on a quiet wing of a higher floor. Based on the number of families with small […] children and young adults in the lobby, I would guess that some floors might be very noisy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel and location but need more staff"
During my trip i heard that the Eaton Chelsea is the largest hotel in Toronto. However, during check in the lines were really long but they only had 3 people at the front desk. For being the largest hotel, i would think there would be more help to avoid the long 20+ min wait at check in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You're just a number"
The hotel is extremely large and anything one does, from checking in to eating, requires lining up. My room was incorrectly assigned so I would have had to switch rooms on night 2. I waited for 20 minutes for this to be resolved. The room is extremely small and out dated. The backtub is chipping. The bathtub fills with water during a shower due to improper […] drainage. The air conditioning didn't work below 20 degrees despite humidity outside. Overall, unpleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Downtown Toronto Hotel"
I spent four days at the hotel. Nice location, next to eclectic Yonge Street and a short walk to Queen. Several great restaurants and bars within a block or two. Close to theater district, as well as Eaton shopping center and its Roots store. Also offers a $5 shuttle to Blue Jays games.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We had a lovely stay"
The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel was that our room was right by one set of elevators and we could hear them through the walls at night and since my child didn't really notice the noise until the last night I could live with it. Other than that the hotel was lovely. We got our room quickly and the amenities were worth the price. […] The family pool was perfect for my 10 year old. He could go swimming whenever we had some down time or before bed. We ate breakfast in the Market Garden which is a cafeteria style restaurant. The location of the Eaton Chelsea was perfect. We walked to the theater and to dinner. The concierge gave us great advice about where to eat and what was available around the hotel. When we return to Toronto we will probably be staying there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worked Great for our Family Trip"
Parking was $29 CAN per day, but at least allowed in and out unlimited. Traffic and no left turn policies in Toronto make it challenging to get around in the car, so make sure your hotel is within walking distance (or the Subway) of where you want to go. We also struggled to get the heat to come on since it was in the 40s at night, but overall it was […] a pleasant experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pictures are decieving"
Didn't even want to walk in my hotel room without shoes on. Didn't even use the shower. Wouldn't eat the food there. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall. Smelled old. The light in the bathroom was so dim I could barely seem myself.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location in the heart of Toronto"
Very impressed by this hotel. We were given a big quiet room. Air conditioner may be a bit noisy for some, but we are used to that. Interiors are a little tired, but overall hotel and staff were brilliant.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband, son and I came down for my sons surgery at sick kids. We arrived around 845 and found out the pool closed at 9:00. It's what my son was looking forward to. A little disappointing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, but busy and loud"
This hotel was nice, great location and nice view from the pool area. However, kids running down the hall playing with soccer ball at 6:30 am, kept me awake until I opened door and they stopped. Very noisy, can hear talking in hallway and in room next door. Very busy lobby, and always crowded when taking elevator. The price was great, and staff very […] helpful. "Not good for family"
Too crowded. You have to stay in the line for 30 to 45 minutes just to ask a question. Expensive parking. Parking was really stressful and scary; too narrow, too confusing, too crowded. "Weekend trip in Toronto."
Overall I liked the hotel and have no complaints. The rooms themselves are nothing special but considering we spent hardly any time at all in the hotel it got the job done. The lobby and surrounding area are very nice and everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Suppose to be the biggest hotel in the city, with over 1800 rooms..A older hotel, and a strange layout but as i found out it was added onto in stages,so one reason it has 4 banks of elevatiors[red, blue, green, yellow].My room was on the 10th floor and had a door bell in the hallway, the only problem was the door bell never worked.since i was in the older […] section of the hotel, the original balcony door was repalced with a set of large windows, the other sections of the hotel had balcony doors.I was disapointed with the front entrance, there are brass plated signs out front stating NO SMOKING,within 9 meters of the building.Every where you look, the public sidewalk was littered with butts and trash. Not very eye appealing for a arriving guest. "Great hotel in a questionable neighborhood"
We enjoyed staying at the hotl very much- The room was clean & comfortable, but in need of an update. Several restaurants & great lounge with food were a d great addition to the hotel. Both pool areas are a+ and we'll maintained. Only downside was the location in a poor but diverse neighborhood- not what I expected or any reviews commented.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was great. Could've walked but we took short cab rides to Kensington Market and the Entertainment district. Hotel had several dining options but we didn't uses any. Many markets, bars, restaurants and stores with a couple of blocks. An in-room refrigerator would have been useful. Parking was $30 a day at the hotel. "Easy walk to restaurants, mall, and train station"
Sometimes house keeping can take until the late afternoon to get to my room to clean. The gym was nice and there is an outside patio for people to enjoy the view and take in the fresh air. At times the neighbors were noisy, but other than that it was a nice hotel with a friendly staff of employees.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Didn't resemble the pictures"
The staff were all exceedingly polite, being Canadians, but the hotel was a disappointment. The room, while clean, did *NOT* resemble the posh, well decorated photos listed on the advertisement. Instead, it was a shabby, 1985-ish, generically beige hotel room. Fine, but not what was advertised. To make matters worse, on the hotel television channel […] they kept showing the same posh, well decorated rooms. Perhaps those rooms exist in this hotel, but I certainly didn't stay in one of them. Part of what I look forward to in my hotel stays is checking out the interior design, and this was certainly a disappointment. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in the middle of downtown"
The hotel is nice and mostly the location is excellent. The facilities are nice as well as the staff, I didn't really have anything to complain about. The only thing is the parking garage, I thought it was going to be free but it was a big mistake as it ended up being 30 dollars a day on top of the room price... "Not the best, but still good"
The re-load of the computer system on the first day of my stay didn't allow check in on time, about 100 visitors need to wait until the system upgrades. The hotel personal refuse to make a manual check in. So we got our rooms with an hour and a half delay. The internet facilities are very poor. Otherwise, comfortable and great placement.Genuine Expedia guest review
Noisy hallways at late night always detract from an otherwise pleasant experience at this hotel. The guestroom doors need some sort of quieting mechanism to keep from slamming.Genuine Expedia guest review
