"Small but clean and convenient"
Working at the convention center, this hotel was clean and the staff was courteous. The rooms were small but worked fine for what we needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I was very impressed with this hotel, I booked the room when it was on sale and wasn't expecting a lot. I was just going to town for a business trip for the weekend and was impressed with how clean and modern everything felt. Everyone was extremely polite and the service was quick. To save money I decided to try the pub for dinner and it ended up being […] more expensive than I thought it was worth. Everything else about the room and the hotel were great! "Worse Canadian stay in 5 years"
I've stayed both in branded hotels and colonial homes turned into boutique motels, but this felt like falling off the cliff By the way, I never complaint, so this one must have really hit the wrong nerve Expedia pics and description show renovated rooms, what we got was mold on the ceiling and probably the only room left to be renovated...I could be […] wrong, there maybe more Front desk staff who answered my call was extremely cold and mechanic Actually I just wanted to get done with the stay and say nothing, until this staff experience happened.. "Close to shopping and subway..."
Nice hotel with nice pool. It was under construction at the time. I was on the 23rd floor facing south, so I had a nice view of the city. The room was very good. Construction was basically 8am to 5pm, but I did not hear any on my floor. Food offerings on the main floor looked tasty, but I ate outside the hotel.Subway (College) is only a block away and […] Eatons Centre (shopping mall) was a 10 minute walk away south on Yonge. Stayed on Eaton Chelsea, Mon May/5/2014 - Tue May/6/2014. Room NO. 1901, and unfortunately it was a bad experience. "Good for the price and lots of amenities"
It has been years since I stayed at the Chelsea and it is looking good in the common areas. My room could have been cleaner (very thick layers of dust on the tops of mirrors, pics., etc), sloppy patch job in bathroom, and the balcony was closed off for maintenance. But location is good, and service was efficient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is under major renovations, and the noises from this renovation is a major discomfort. Drilling was going on in the room next door all day, and when we insisted that they move us they did but stated that they could not guarantee that we would not hear noises from the renovations. One evening the door keys would not work, and the only place […] that could correct this was at the check in desk which had 20 people in line waiting to check in. "Nice hotel but needs some upgrade."
This hotel has an excellent location. The first night I could barely sleep, our room was just behind the elevator walls so it was very noisy when the elevators were passing our floor. I requested a room change and we got it. The first day in our new room it was not made, I had to call the desk to report the room was not cleaned. The temperature was […] cold, I had to call to report the heater was not working, they said it had been disconnected because complaints were received stating the heater was too hot. There was not mini fridge in the room and there was not a safe. The corridors were dark and needed some remodelation, they looked outdated. One day I was asking the concierge for information and in the middle of the conversation she answered the phone twice and left me waiting for a couple of minutes. "Great location in downtown Toronto!"
Great location, close to TTC and all the main attractions Toronto has to offer. Hotel was nice, but also under construction. Annoying, but livable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent location...that's it"
This hotel is in a great location for food, shopping, subways, etc. There were a few problems however. The first would be the lack of knowledge from the concierge. We had approached the desk on 3 different occasions and did not get a good answer to any of our questions. Rooms were small and definitely need some updating. It was fairly clean, but the […] tub was all chipped and the walls in the bathrooms had stains. They had a nice work out facility, however, they do not allow children through age 18 to work out, even with their parents. The restaurants and bars are nice, but very expensive. They pour the most measured one ounce drink I have ever seen. Maybe if they put it in a smaller glass it wouldn't look so ridiculous, but it looked to be less than 1/4 inch of scotch at the bottom of the glass. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"in the heart of it"
Was very pleased with the location and the bed. The rest of the hotel is quite dated and not very nice to look at. That being said the bed was insanely comfortable. The wi-fi was very difficult to connect to. It is another one of those hotels that insists on putting an hd tv in the room and only provide analog channels. Customer service is good, not […] great, but good. Not much of a deal either. Don't really think I would stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"She may not be pretty, but she gets the job done."
I've stayed here every time I've come to Toronto over the last 15 years. Location is perfect. 2 blocks from Dundas Square. There's an EXCELLENT bakery right across the street on Elm Street by the name of Lucullus Bakery. You cannot pass this up. Excellent fresh pastries and coffee at an unbelievably cheap price. The hotel lobby looks nice and fancy, […] but the rooms are old and show it. The air conditioner has never once worked in all the 15 years I've been coming to this hotel. You have to leave the balcony door open to get it cooled off since it's always very warm in the rooms. I would never pay for the deluxe room over the standard room. They are the same minus a few extra square feet. It is just enough extra room for a blow up mattress. The family pool with a slide is fun, but the room has seen it's day. Front desk staff can be quite rude at times. TRAVELLERS TIP: Do not pay 40 dollars to park in their garage. Less than a block away on Gerard is 24 hour parking for 12 dollars. Also, for you Americans.....there is a Canada trust Bank inside a mall with Sobey's in it up on College and Bay street. You can exchange your currency for the highest exchange rate with no fee there. DO NOT EXCHANGE AT THE HOTEL DESK! The rate was 1.02 at the desk and 1.09 at Canada Trust. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mediocre at best"
Having read previous reviews I asked for a renovated room. It was adequate but by no means recently renovated. There was construction on our floor although there was no noise from construction. "Great location, good staff, dated rooms."
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Asked for a higher room with a view but the one we gave us had a balcony view (which doesn't open) of another building. The room was clean but it is dated with chipped floor tiles, dingy bathroom, etc. Could definitely use a renovation/rejuvenation. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours but luckily […] ours were not too noisy. There was also construction noise outside which can be heard due to thin windows and there is also hotel construction going on and we could hear constant hammering in the morning which was annoying. The cleaning staff was good. Asked them to clean the room after we left the room for the day and they did a great job. The location is central downtown which is the best benefit of this hotel. We also used their pool with corkscrew slide and my daughter loved it. We had to schedule our sessions at the pool which was fine but I noticed others did not and were allowed to enter without prescheduling ... so what was the point? The pool and hot tub was very busy as a result. The temperature of the pool was fine but the hot tub needs to be hotter and they need to fix the bubble jets (they were not working). There was a lot of kids activities happening during our stay (March break) which was appreciated. Movies, popcorn, bingo, magic show, etc The parking at the hotel is too expensive $29 so we parked a block away in a secure underground parking lot at $12 a day. "Nice hotel, well located"
This hotel is located very close to eaton center and yonge street. Easy walk to downtown and also yorkville. The favilities are very nice, but the personel is not very helpful. I will recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
With change of hands, hotel seems more mercenary, with charges for more things, such as local calls or using a computer in the lobby. Staff is friendly enough - just. Rooms was fine, clean, though cool. Turning up heat means lots of noise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Eaton Chelsea Not So Much"
Conveniently located 1/2 a block from adult entertainment and 1 very good steak house. Lobby is spacious and the staff is friendly. Upstairs the hallway carpets are dirty and worn out. The rooms are clean and quiet and the beds are comfortable. The heat is either on or off. So in the winter warm up the room and shut it down unless you like to sleep […] in a sauna. Hit water there is plenty. Overall the Eaton is to pricey for its condition. But during the busiest convention week of the year I thought I was lucky to just get a room. "The pictures of rooms are deceptive"
Our first impression of the staff member helping was awesome, however it ends there. One room had NO heat maintence took two days, a water main break complicated check- in and we did not receive our second room until 6:30 pm for 3pm. check in, and the staff had to be reminded we had a second room, and this room was not the original room requested, however […] happy to get in our second room The staff was nice and brought us that room key in person. I think there were numerous things going on that detracted from our stay. Unfortunately I can not recommend this hotel to my friends, glad in am home, next time maybe upgrade to a better suite.? Stay at the Eaton Chelsea was nice, very convenient location to the Eaton Centre, new aquarium, Hockey Hall of Fame and various restaurants/bars. "One night with family"
I've stayed here at least 10 times in the last 15 years, in both family and adult-only modes, and have always been satisfied with this hotel. "Great location, great price"
Location was right in the heart of downtown. Only one block away from the subway. Two blocks from all the shopping. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was fast and free, which for downtown Toronto hotels, is a rarity. The rooms were renovated, but still seemed a little plain, but it was still comfortable. I would gladly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, but currently being renovated"
The hotel was great for my practical needs, and the hotel staff was incredibly helpful. However, the hotel was in the middle of renovation and was nowhere near as luxurious or "hip" as the pictures implied. The hotel was very loud during the "going out" hours... around 10:00 PM to midnight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In the Heart of the City"
I loved the hotel and staff are all very friendly. The only issue I had was that my room was to be a queen size and the bed was very noticably a double not a queen. Other than that it was a great hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect location for shopping"
Loved the staff and the hotel was in walking distance of a lot of great stuff. Awesome views from the room and I loved the on-site parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was fine, a little small. It looks like the rooms themselves have been updated, but the hallways seemed a bit drab. The hotel appeared to undergoing exterior renovation as there was scaffolding attached to the building. "Nice hotel, good price"
The hotel is nice but the elevators need work. They took much too long to come for such a large hotel and were often full when they did arrive. It's a reasonably priced hotel but not cheap enough to have to deal with that.Genuine Expedia guest review
