While the hotel was conveniently located, the hotel and our room were very small and not in the best condition. We previously stayed at the NH Atlanta which was just a few blocks away and would strongly recommend the Atlanta over this one. However for a one night stay before our flight home it did suit its purpose.

We had a great time staying at NH Grand Place Arenberg! The hotel is in a great location (right across from the Cathedral, and less than 5 minutes walk to the Grand Place) and is modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good, with a variety of fresh items, though they don't restock anything for the last 30 minutes […] or so. Overall a fantastic hotel and good value and I would not hesitate for a second to go back ..... except for the wifi. The wifi was maddeningly slow, even loading basic text pages, and basically didn't work at all. So if you don't need wifi, stay here. If wifi is important to you, though, I would (sadly) suggest that you look elsewhere... Read more

I loved the location of the hotel. We walked from Central station to their door and we were right by the Royal Galleries and Grand Place. Very convenient to walk everywhere. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Great experience overall.

The location was great. Very close to the the Brussels Central Train Station. We didn't use public transportation to any of the places we went to see. Real close to the Cathedral , Grote Markt (main square), museums,shopping and dining; WiFi was free and had to be accessed every 24 hrs with new user name and password. Staff was friendly and helpful. […] The room was ok but noises from the next room or above us could be heard even when the toilet cover was being lifted in the next room, it sounded like it was it was in our bathroom. It is hard to beat the location of this hotel. Close to Central Station, Grand Place, and shopping on New Street. Even though close to all of the action, it is very quiet at night. The rooms were small, but I am not sure if this is any different than other hotels in the area. The shower was tiny. Great location near the Grand Place and the Central Station, I was upgraded to a suite because they did not have a non-smoking room available. Euro chic and comfortable, my only complaint would be that the A/C was turned off for winter and it was rather stuffy in late September, but too noisy to leave windows open.

There was no air conditioning 2 nights. One morning there was no hot water as the boilers failed and were being repaired/replaced. The safe was not working properly. There was no room service and no restaurant and I was not told of this at the time of check in.Went hungry that night-too late to go out.There was a plant growing in the balcony of room […] 624 and a lot of dirt,I have photographs.Ms Olga the Operations Manager tried her very best to get things working and even worked on the terrace and pacified customers. The Front Office staff was good especially Esfer Imeri who promptly attended to all complaints and was excellent in helping out. The hotel equipment is old and obsolete. The management is to blame. They do not even employ a in house technical person 24 hrs for emergencies and the staff try to compensate. The room was clean and the linen good. Read more

The hotel and the room was ok it was large and had a patio and balcony but our stay was during mid-May and apparently the ac isn't turned on due to the fact that it isn't summer season yet. So our room was warm, so we opened the windows but the noise outside our room from a hydraulic pump (I guess from the elevator) made it unbearable, so we opted for […] a warm room. Even with the windows closed you could hear this pump which turned on and off all throughout the night. Positives: Hotel staff was friendly and informative, hotel was clean, great location close to city center, free wifi in the lobby, 5pm Sunday checkout Negatives: beds were on wheels and didn't lock into place - kept sliding away from the wall which doubled as a headboard. Checkout was at 12 but housekeeping started banging on our door asking us to […] check out at 10. Poor lighting in the bathroom. Only one mirror in the room was in the bathroom which had no ventilation so after a shower it was nearly impossible to use for at least 20 minutes. Walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbors conversing, their alarm, etc. I'm not sure if its this way with all hotels, but at checkout you are required to pay an additional city tax (they don't include it in the price of the room, which I found annoying). From the pictures and comments, I was expecting a nice hotel, but it was really nothing special. When we arrive at the hotel, we were told that our room was no ready and asked to wait in the lobby. Not very impressed. No fitness room despite stating this as a facility on Hotels.com. Room was very cold as heating had been turned off. Even when full on it struggled to get warm (it was a cold day). Lack of adequate lighting in room (main lamp not working).

Hotel is nicely located just 5 mins walk from the central station and 5 mins from grand palace with plenty of restaurants and cafes around. Staffs are friendly and you get free internet access which is very convenient. Overall we were quite satisfied with our stay here and would visit there again.

I'm not too sure why the reviews of this hotel are rather positive. I have seen better in Brussels for the same rate around the end of year period. Positives: _ close to grand place Negatives: _ if you don't like cinnamon: avoid. The air freshner they use for the lobby is an overpowering cinnamon smell _ if you like a bath tub of regular size: avoid. […] The bath tub in our room was maybe adequate for an 8 year old child. NOT for an adult _ if you don't want a nasty surprise on checking out: avoid. They charge an additional €7.58/night 'city tax'. The lady at the reception told us we were not the only guests taken by surprise. Well... deh ... maybe they should inform guests on booking/arrival then... _ if you like clean sheets: avoid. We stayed over 1 week and the sheets were never changed _ if you like modern rooms: avoid. I can't remember the last time I've been in a hotel where they didn't have a flat screen tv. The window frames also desperately need an upgrade. There is no positive interlocking on closure and so they were blown open on 2 occasions. Overall, I would rate this hotel hardly as a 3 star and will never stay here again. Read more

WE HAD 1 NIGHT IN STANDARD ROOM AND 2 NIGHTS IN SUPERIOR ROOM BUT SPSRTFROM KETTLE AND SEPARATE TOILET IN SUPERIOR ROOM THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY. This hotel is 30 seconds walk to the top end of the Galeries St Hubert which lead, ultimately, to Rue de la Colline and Grand Place. It's 2 minutes from the main eat-street, Rue des Bouchers, and a very short walk to the beautiful Cathedral, the Comic Strip Centre and Central Station. In short: a perfect location. The hotel is of an excellent standard: […] rooms are very "businessy", clean and spacious (the window between bedroom and bathroom was slightly odd, though). Child's cot was provided upon asking (at no extra cost), and the buffet breakfast was excellent and varied. Free wifi in the lobby only is a bit of a pain, but not the end of the world. I had stayed in other NH hotels in the past and even though they are not known for being luxurious, I had always had a good experience. However, on this particular one the room was noisy (despite being on the 5th floor the traffic noise woke me up early in the morning). Also, there was no hot water in the whole hotel on the morning so no possible to […] shower. The staff was courteous about the incident and offered free breakfast to compensate for the inconvenience. Hotel was easy to find and only a short walk from the Metro. We spent the NYE weekend there. We had two single beds pushed together, which was not ideal, but ok for 2 nights. Water was cold the first night, but after we have spoken to receptionist, it was sorted. The hotel is generally good but there is no bar. I sat in the lobby area for 5 minutes intending to have a beer but there was no-one in sight so I gave up. The Restaurant was deserted so I went out to eat and when I came back it was still deserted. In short the place was 'dead' (admittedly it was a Monday night).

Very good time spent at this hotel. The front desk staff were language fluent and very helpful every day. Room was good size, air-con was excellent when needed and the hotel overall was very presentable and an enjoyable experience, close to everything we needed to see and a genuine 5min walk from the central station.

This hotel can be best described as 'tired'. Our room had mould around the external window frame and mould was also present on the grouting between the tiles in the shower. One curtain was partly hanging off its runners and the carpet was beginning to fray where it met the polished part of the floor. El hotel está situado cerca de la Grand Place, la catedral y puedes caminar hasta los museos de Bellas Artes y Magrit pasando por la estación central,. Si lo que que quieres es viajar por el país este es tu hotel. El personal es amable y simpatico. Lastima que las habitaciones muestran el paso del tiempo y no tengan mejor mantenimiento.
