"short time"
Only stayed 12 hours. Restaurant let us order food at 10 PM, even though it was their closing time. Waiter/bartender was friendly and funny. Let us stay in the bar till 11. Room quiet. Did not hear other people. Saw children coming from the swimming pool, looked like they had fun..

"Comfortable and Reasonable"
We stay here when in Salem visiting family for a clean comfortable stay at a reasonable price. They have a small indoor pool that the kids like, but I'd like to see them add spa tube even if it was a above ground type.

"Solace in Salem"
A very kind desk agent met this exhausted traveler. Check in took less than 5 minutes and then I was snuggling into the delicious king-size bed. Room was clean and comfortable. Slept so well that I almost slept through check out time! Would stay here again.

"Nice but....."
Very good except for sauna never getting hot enough & being woken up at 5:50 am by neighbors who let their kids run amok in their room & down the hall for a 1/2 hr. Pool was nice.

Our hotel has many rooms and we sell rooms to a large variety of guests, from families to business people and honeymooners to sports teams, which in turn can cause a variety of noise at many hours so I'm sorry that you had to experience this so early in the am. At this hotel, we do offer our large heated pool, fitness center that will be updated very soon and our dry sauna which you will want to give about 20 to 30 minutes for it to warm up since it's not a wet sauna that does not take a lot of time. "Not pet friendly room"
I asked for a pet friendly room for our small dog that travels with us. The room had dirty carpet, pet hair on a very old bedspread, ( not ours), and one of the oldest TV's I have seen in a long time. Not up to what other hotels offer when you travel with a pet. No place at all for the pets to go outside, just paved parking lot, and a mud pit. If you advertise that you are pet friendly, then you should be Pet Friendly.

"Outdated and Small"
The hotel rooms were outdated and very small. The bathroom must've been a handicap stall and had a plastic chair in the shower. The grout in the shower looked dingy.

"Work trip to Salem"
The staff were extraordinarily kind and helpful. I did feelthat the restaurant menu lacked a bit of options but the bartender made terriffic cocktails. It was quiet and pleasant. I did not care for the restroom/sink design nor for the cheap pillows and bedspread.

"Taking a solo well deserved break"
It was real nice, except the alarm going off at 6 am, they had overlooked a wash rag from previous guest hanging on shower nozzle. And they had came in twice in 1 day switched out towels but didn't rinse the tub, the indoor pool was a little cold. This was on Thanksgiving which they closed restaraunt very early even for breakfast, but offered Thanksgiving Buffet but only with prior RSVP. Overall it was comfortable. Employee's were very nice which always can either help your/my stay or make it a regret. No real regret here!

The woman at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. My husband and I were just passing through and wanted a hotel to take a swim and sleep in a comfy bed. We got what we wanted! Room was clean, quiet, and in the morning we enjoyed room service from the restaurant downstairs.

"Third stay at Hotel, this time with dogs"
My husband, our two dogs, and I stayed for two nights. The room was comfortable. The hotel staff was very dog friendly, and our beasts aren't little guys. They are 50 and 70 lbs. Having two elevators and a stair wall made it easy getting the dogs from our room and outside.

"Wear warm clothes if your there for a conference"
Was there for a conference. COOOOOOLLLLLD! No heat in conference rooms. Very cold day...I ended up using a blanket from my car. Hotel worked on the heat for 2 days...but never did they bring in a space heater or offer other rooms for use. FREEEEZZZZING

The Red Lion is good if you're a traveler just moving from town to town. The restaurant in the hotel was decent and the room service very quick. The rooms need updating though and smelled like they hadn't been cleaned or freshened lately. The building needs some interior renovation and it will shine.

If you book through a third party,they don't include breakfast. There are other hotels in the area for less which include a nice breakfast. There is a restaurant on site that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner that is at best, ok. Bring your own pillow if you don't like lunpy.

We were greeted nicely and were checked in quickly despite the system being down. Besides the room being small for the king bed it was ok. Putting up a curtain in the sink bathroom area would be nice as not to wake others still sleeping. The restaurant service & food was great, and the coupon was a bonus. Like the Pet Friendly status.

We have stayed here on numerous occasions. I was ok with the old Tv's and the updated rooms, but when we checked into our room late, I went straight to bed waking up to find the blanket dirty from previous occupants. I was disgusted & called them to change out my bedding. Only to come back to a made bed with new sheets but same dirty blanket just turned around. Not sure if I will ever trust to stay here again. They did bring me up a clean blanket after calling and complaining,

Only stayed one night on a business trip. Staff was great - everyone friendly & helpful. The hotel desperately needs renovation. My room had several issues, mostly cosmetic, but it also had a bunch of little ants, which I didn't love :-) The food was adequate but pretty expensive for what you got.

"Dissappointing"
Room was advertised as available for 5 people. Two beds with a rollaway bed. There didn't seem to be room for the rollaway bed, and when it was brought up we asked where it usually fits...The response was "I don't know" with a laugh. Then he suggested maybe right in front of the door...which would block any way to exit the room, in addition to making it extremely difficult to get to the bathroom. In addition, the pool area was not very clean...and had broken plastic chairs. The bed was very uncomfortable for us...but I know sometimes that is a personal preference.

We stayed at a Red Lion in Redding, CA and were expecting similar accommodations. Although the room was much smaller and the lobby less impressive, which was poorly lit, the room was clean . The outside landscaping of the hotel looked like it was under renovation but saw two women shoveling dirt into a pickup from a large mound of dirt in front of the hotel. For the price, it was ok.

Stayed here for a seminar, the staff had to be asked twice for coffee service, and I had to ask twice to have the men's room cleaned. Rooms are small but adequate. Restaurant is over priced and food is low quality, eat offsite at a nearby local diner.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. My room was not made up when I went out. I came back and found out that who ever had been in charge had gone home sick and thus all the maids had to leave. They did someone up to take out my trash and make the bed, but only after I asked. Restaurant was fairly expensive for what you got. Location is near Highway 5 and that was convenient. Jacuzzi is now gone. They had to remove it. Pillows were too think for my liking-gave me a kink in my neck.

Staff was friendly and helpful in supplying ice which seems to be in short supply in the summer in Oregon. The restaurant was not high priced and the food was adequate. My only complaint was that the server should inform customers if an item is not available when the menu is given.

"No movies or Hot tub"
the room was clean. had a mini microwave and mini fridge. the air conditioner worked well. i was really disappointed in no pay per veiw movies and no hot tub. the two things we would have done for recreation when we were not with family. the bar a block away called Rocco's was really fun. we enjoyed playing pool and video poker. the bar tender Ben was very nice. he made dinner the first night we were in town.
