The room was cramped with a bed, fridge, microwave, desk, dresser, and a weird backless seat that blocked the balcony. I thought it was a good place until we got ready to go to bed. We noticed stains and black hair all over the comforter. Also, the towels and hand towels were covered with yellow stains. This is Not a 3-Star hotel! Maybe a 1- star. The bed skirts were torn and stained. The comforter and the container that shampoo bottles were placed in were quite dirty. The younger (college students) at he front desk were kind and professional. The other men at the front desk were hard looking and sketchy as were the two maintenance/security people. […] The hotel has been "rode hard". It needs to be sold, scrubbed, and remodeled. A sketchy looking character, claiming to be a maintenance man knocked on my door at night and insisted that I allow him in to examine my room phone because I had dialed 911. This hotel used to be a good medium-high priced hotel; well appointed, maintained with good food at their restaurants. What we found on this visit was disappointing. The hotel staff were courteous and most did their jobs adequately. The king room we had was dismal and had no welcoming feeling. The television, while eventually worked, was mediocre at […] best. It was complicated to operate and took it's own sweet time in turning on. The room we had had a view of a parking lot at the back of the building. After the first night there, the staff did not even make our bed, just refilled the coffee and gave us a couple of fresh hand towels, That was it. We did eat in the restaurant our last morning. It was adequate but certainly would not bring any of our party of 8 back any time soon. The limited wait staff, while courteous and doing their job as best they could, were prevented from seating us right away. Obviously they had to put a couple of tables together, but it took way too long for that to be accomplished. The upholstered bench that four of us sat on was completely worn through and luckily no one tore their clothes. I've stayed at this location several times over the years, and can't help but think that it's time to move on. I think the property has become more run down over time. I had to leave the bathroom door open so I wouldn't be showering in the dark; bulb was recessed with no fixture. TV was old and not a lot of channels. We loved that the hotel was close to the fairgrounds and downtown our don was performing at the fair. They also had a shuttle service to the fair. arrived very late before a next morning meeting, so bascially paid a lot of money to sleep for a few hours. Because it was a last minute trip, there weren't many choices. The checkin went really smooth even though we arrived fairly late. Then we were really surprised when the pet fee was waved. The rooms are very comfortable and the bed was probably one of the more comfortable ones we have slept in. The rooms have a micro/fridge in them, which is nice. The only thing I would have to say about the rooms is they are small […] and the bathroom needs a fan in it.
