"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Excellent, convenience to airport was essential.

We did not get information that payment by card was not accepted. The breakfast was poor, bread from yesterday, cerials too sweet. The juice was more like lemonade than fruit-juice.
"Would stay there again"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Had a great experience. Our triple room was clean and bed very comfortable, including pillows. 40 inch hd tv with all the sky channels with the options to switch to English language. Filled a form with time and choices for breakfast . Arrived on time and plenty of food. ( Italian style breakfast) . Front desk nice and helpful. Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

Room was so small that we could barely walk around the bed and there were no drawers in which to put clothes. The buffet breakfast, however, was outstanding and the location very convenient. Front desk staff could be friendlier. The room was much smaller than the photo for that level of accommodation

Made famous by ‘La Dolce Vita’ film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression ‘paparazzo’ – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers’ trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of ‘dolce far niente’ – idling and people-watching.

"Comfortable Place to stay when walking Rome"
Harry's Bar is just around the corner so what more can one say. Not the closest Hotel to the sites, but a pleasant place none-the-less. The barman, Angelo, is there in the bar ready to take your order and the breakfast in the morning is a well prepared, thoughtfully arranged assortment of Continental fare. Wireless Internet access in the lobby and cabled […] access in the rooms. A thoughtful touch was a note from the manager welcoming us. Overall - my wife and I would return here for a solid, clean and comfortable place to stay. Read more
"Great value for your money."
Love the location. Not luxury, but very comforftable hotel. Good value for the money. My husband I stay there every time we are in Rome. The concierge (Nicolo) always wonderful and helpful.
"looked better in the pictures"
i love the area close to the park for running and the cost of the Sofitel and Marriott (where i usually stay) were just way too expensive, so i chose the Victoria. i guess what bothered me the most was the condition of the carpets in the lobby and breakfast room. they were shabby. it is an old hotel and everthing felt old. the first morning the carpet […] in the breakfast area was dirty and stained. luckily the next day it was cleaner, obviously it was shampooed. the breakfast was way over-priced and many of the items always needed to be replenished. the rooftop area was nice, but no view. would not stay there again. "Tired property, indifferent staff, bad intersect"
The hotel is on a side street / access road, difficult to find / get to and no parking other than on the street. We saw homeless people all around (one woman was urinating in the street at the intersection!!) It's a dated property, particularly the rooms - old, tired, with an indifferent staff - could care less!! Not going back nor would recommend this […] property when there are many other great ones nearby. Definitely NOT a 4 star!! Read more

This hotel is in a very upscale location in Rome. Just a block away from the US Embassy. The Via Venetto is the the main street in the area lined with upscale shops, great restaurants and a 600 year old church. Good location to most of the major sights in Rome. Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps are a 20 - 30 minute walk. The Collesium and all of Ancient […] Rome is a short bus ride or an inexpensive cab ride. The Vatican is the furthest site and it was 9 Euro by taxi, 15 minutes and much less by bus. The public bus system in Rome is cheap, clean and very inexpensive. We heard the Metro is also but we did not use it on this trip. Take the bus and see more of Rome along the way! Many thanks to Lisa M. for reccommending the Hotel Victoria. Read more

"Great room for the money"
great hotel, and the best breakfast buffet,
"Good location"
Good location, one block off Via Veneto. The problem was we had 4 rooms and only one had decent a/c. The rest of the rooms were barely cool and we were there in August, so it was quite warm. The breakfast buffet included was great, service was great. The bar area on the roof was pretty in the evening. We were able to walk about 3 blocks to catch the […] tour bus right off Via Veneto. "Great Hotel"
We had a family room for the four of us. Nice space with a very large bathroom (atypical during many of our other European hotel stays this trip). The breakfast was wonderful and the service was excellent. They helped us with many questions in getting around the city, etc. We would recommend to everyone.
"Loved it"
This hotel was the #1 in Italy. Staff was wonderful, helpful, and certainly spoke English. The bathroom was bigger than most of the hotel rooms we were in before, it was spotless, walk in closet, wonderful breakfast, tree lined street. Can't say enough about it-wonderful. Loved the roof top bar and restaurant as well.

"good location"
This was an average hotel - no frills, room was ugly but clean. The location was excellent and the area was nice. We stayed 2 nites and it was ok, I would not want to stay for a week.
"Average hotel"
It was a decent room to sleep in for a night; it had a nice window, good size bathroom, had wi-fi and a few English-speaking people to help us. Location was great and in a nice neighborhood. The bad: the carpet was pretty dirty in the room, bed was uncomfortable (2 twins pushed together instead of 1 queen or 1 king), food at the hotel restaurant on […] the rooftop was bad. Read more
"Victoria Hotel -- around the corner of Via Veneto"
Our family shared a family suite. The room was very clean; the bathroom was huge. The hotel is located in a quiet and lovely neighbourhood: just off Via Veneto and across from Villa Borghese park. The neighbourhood has plenty of restaurants. It is a short walk to the Spanish Steps and public transit. We walked or took public transit to visit the tourist […] sites. Really, most of the sites are not far and we walked most everywhere. The staff at the hotel were excellent; they answered all of our questions, were very attentive, suggested sites to see, and places to eat. We thought that the breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. The rooftop terrace is lovely in the evening. I would recommend this hotel to others. Read more
"Small rooms"
After 4 tries, we were finally given a nice room large enough to contain a small pull-out desk. The first room was pleasant, but very small for 2 people + a king-sized bed, The next 3 were both dark and small. The hotel personnel could not have been more accommodating when I said I ahd to work on my computer-- first suggesting, I could come downstairs […] ,and use the "business center"-- 1 lonely computer in the back of the lounge. The roof terrace was closed. Continental breakfast was basic. Except fot the Villa Borghese, the hotel is far from the tourist sites, requiring either very considerable walking or costly taxis. We had been attracted by the website and its proximity to the Borghese Gallery. It was rather disappointing and inconvenient for our purposes. Read more
"Greitt hotell et lite stykke unna det meste"
Helhetsinntrykket noe redusert pga elendig service i restauranten.Dårlig service og maten var ikke spesielt god. Ellers upåklagelig service. Buss 116 et billig og greitt alternativ - for kun 1 euro - stoppet ved de mest kjente turistattraksjoner.
"Hotel Victoria Roma: bien ubicado"
Muy buen hotel, bien ubicado a corta distancia a pie de varias atracciones turisticas. La habitación pequeña pero acogedora (baño chico). Restaurante excelente, muy buena comida y buen desayuno. Servicio cordial.

"Victoria Hotel, Via Campania 41, Roma"
Godt hotel passe sentralt i Roma. Severdigheter finnes i hotellets nærhet (noen få kvartaler unna), deriblandt den Spanske trappen. Personalet på hotellet er serviceminded. Frokostbuffeten er god, men kelnerne er noe ukoordinerte. Rommene er gode. Vi, en famili med to barn, hadde to fine netter. Parkeringen i hotellets garage er overpriset.
