Wonderful staff. Although we were only there for one night, the hotel and service from all staff was amazing. Very close to everything. Would stay again.

I was very pleased with Zan Hotel Tre Vecchi. It is very clean and well maintained. The front Desk personnel friendly and helpful. Breakfast room service very fast and efficient with a large variety of foods to choose from. The location is very good and within walking distance to everything. AC worked well. Good mattress and pillows. There was street […] noise if the windows were open but the double paned windows took care of the noise when I closed them. There is a nice shaded area where one may sit and relax or read and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. The only suggestion I could make would be to request larger wattage light bulbs in both the bedroom for reading and also in the bathroom for hair and makeup. All in all, I enjoyed staying at the Tre Vecchi very much and will be happy to recommend it to others. Read more

Although the room was small, it was very well appointed and very comfortable. Nice towels and bed linens, good breakfast included. Easy to find, close to shopping, restaurants and the best gelato I had in italy (on a side street near the piazza).

Overall a very nice Hotel with fiendly staff. Unfortunately the room was too small for three people and we felt very cramped. Not sure why, since they added a roll bed, they would not consider placing us in a bigger room.

I stayed in Bologna for one night, and selected this hotel at the recommendation of a friend who lives in Bologna. My first room was small, and the musty bathroom smell permeated the room, but they were very agreeable to moving me down the hall. My second room was also small, but with a comfortable bed and bathroom. The hotel is just a 5-10 minute walk […] to the Piazza Maggiore, and the surrounding neighborhood is nice. There's also great restaurant around the corner called Donatello's. We arrived during a heatwave and our air conditioner didn't work (no cold air and lots of noise!). They tried to convince us that it worked fine before finally allowing us to change to a different room which was great. The Tre Vecchi is in a good location. 20 minutes from the airport, a 10 minute walk from the train station and just a few steps away from all the shopping and restaurants. The hotel is on a main street so it can get noisy, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning. The hotel itself is very nice. The air conditioner was an issue, it was not cold enough and when we complained to the staff, they said we (United States) are used to the a/c being colder than they are and that their system cannot get any colder. We had very hot days while there (One day it reached 100 degrees), so after the second day, we opend the window at night and that was our saving grace. Breakfast was just ok, no hot food at the buffet. The staff was very pleasant except for the guys behind the front desk, they could have been more friendly. We spent two nights here in March 2011, and enjoyed our stay very much. The room is well-equipped with all comfort items, and the window is large. We kept the window closed much of the time because of the temperatures, and noticed what a great job the hotel has done in soundproofing the rooms! Street noise is inaudible, literally. We walked everywhere […] in Bologna, fueled by the ample breakfast served buffet-style in the morning. We found Tratoreria Tony about a half-block south and had a great dinner there. The hotel's location is on the main street, and we had no problem walking from the train station with our rolling bags; about ten minutes from train to front door of hotel. It is about 5-7 minutes of easy, portico-covered walking to get to the main plaza. This is a four-star hotel at a 3-star price, and we were very pleased with our choice. Read more

This hotel is perfectly located for exploring the center of Bologna. It is a bit difficult to get to at night by car given the various one-way streets surrounding the hotel. It is however, located on the main road leading to the city center from the North. Booking through Expedia was easy. We simply surrendered our passports at check in and received […] our room keys. No paperwork to fill out. Check in took 1-2 minutes. Parking is located in an underground parking lot beneath the hotel. It costs 20 Euro for a one night space. Access to the garage is from the street immediately behind the hotel. Adjacent to the hotel is a large, outdoor market. When we were there, the market was all the typical clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes by foot from the main piazza. We found no hotels closer without paying exorbitant prices. Plenty of restaurants of all style in and around the hotel. Breakfast was good.
