This hotel is still costs first class rates, but the shower head was broken, paint is starting to peel here and there and there was a constant and annoying buzzing from the A/C unit in the foyer ceiling that wouldn't stop even when the unit was turned off.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Indigo. The neighborhood is perfect. It's just outside the craziness of the magnificent mile, very close to the lake, in a very cute area. This hotel is not the most glamorous I've stayed in while in Chicago but it is my new favorite!! The staff is kind and makes you feel at home. The room was not huge but it was fine. Decorating is nice, beds are pretty firm. I like that but my mom stated hers was not very comfortable. TV was old, but all the channels are accessible. Breakfast was included […] in our room price (very rare for Chicago hotels now) and it was spectacular!!! The Gold Coast Neighborhood is just wonderful and just a short walk to Old Town as well as only a block away from the red line. I will stay here every time I visit Chicago. We chose this hotel from reviews and a personal recommendation. Location was gorgeous, walking distance from several restaurants. Quiet street, parking next door. Room needed some updating, still had tube TV, our shower had a slow drain, so we stood in an once of water once we were finished. Called housekeeping for toilet paper because they only left […] us 1/2 roll, waited 30 minutes and gave up waiting. Once the room was cleaned, more tp was added. Bed was hard. We couldn't close the curtains because there were only sheers, made it hard to sleep. Housekeeping was friendlier than the staff at the front desk. Little things bummed us out, price and recommendation brought us here, not so sure I would return. Read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Indigo. It is a fair price for the quality of services. The personel is very nice and welcoming; the atmosphere relaxed. My room was small, but adequate; and the neiborghood is lively and offers good restaurants, bookshops and more. Yet, the hotel is fairly quiet. A good find.

Asked for a crib 3 times and by the third time I asked they were out of cribs. When I was promised one when I made the reservation, when we checked in, and again at night. Still never got a crib after 3 nights. They were nice enough to upgrade our room to two beds but that doesn't help my 7 month old son to sleep on a bed that's 5 feet off the ground. […] The air was also broken in our room and it was 90 degrees outside and the lady at the front desk argued with us about our air conditioning. Our stay at the Indigo was fine and once I got out and about saw how close we were to things in this part of downtown Chicago. The room was a bit small but was clean and comfortable..the only thing that bothered me was there was no fan in the toilet and no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms. Very nice compact clean room. Neighborhood easy walking distance of Magnificent Mile and Lincoln Park and lake and upscale residential character made it nice retreat from busier parts of Near North. I would definitely stay again.

It was fine. I thought the front desk was understaffed with the busy desk person being overwhelmed with tasks to do. I thought way too much time was taken giving instructions to a caller for other hotel locations while several guests including myself waited to be assisted. We were staying just one night to be close to a race we were running the next morning. This hotel worked out perfectly for that purpose - even the fact that breakfast was included in price. However, in my experience when breakfast is included it is a serve yourself situation - whether it continental or hot bfast. The bfast was a sit down & order off […] menu, which ordinarily would be a welcome change. Unfortunately, when we checked in we were not told that this was the case and we had planned to grab something quick to eat on way to the race. This proved almost impossible & we were rushing to the race as a result. Had to order bfast & wait for it. Although we expressed we wer in a hurry the restaurant staff was very slow and seemed to not know how to handle our request to not "dine in" but to take our food to go. Not a big deal, we just wish we would have been informed at check in that was how bfast worked so we could plan to allow more time. Read more

Nice place. A bit aged, but still very clean and nice. The only complaint I have is the walls are thin...I was woken up to the sounds of a fight next door. Also, the frieght elevator was right by my room and was a bit noisy at times. I'd stay here again!

My room was a bit small, but I got a really great price so it made sense to me. I really liked the "mod" look of the hotel-- so much more pleasant than boring/drab hotels. Service was great. If I ever go back to Chicago, I will definitely stay there again.

We found this hotel on your website. The price is what caught my attention. I liked the layout of the place. The staff was great and location was perfect (being that we are in our lower 30's the fact we were close to some cool bars on Division was great). The rooms were more like bedrooms than a hotel room, but for the price and what we needed them […] for (a place to sleep) it was not a big deal. The one issue I did have is the desk chair in our room had a huge stain on it, not wanting to know what it was we just didn't use it. The bed was very comfy and the rest of the amenities were great. Had an issue with someone from the cleaning crew going into our bags. A bit of a misunderstanding with changing and not changing rooms for the extra day we decided to stay. It is somewhat understandable due to the location, but the rooms are very small. The queen is claustrophobic, the king a bit more bearable. The furniture has been very badly beaten with paint peeling off the edges. The comforter on the bed had a hole in the top. The windows are hardly sealed and let in frigid air despite being shut.

The deco is attractive, the room was clean, and the desk staff was really helpful. The fan in the room was kind of loud so they gave us a new room, which was even bigger. Easy to walk to highlights nearby and to the subway. Enjoyed the stay!
