Great, friendly staff. Exactly what we were looking for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After spending all night driving around St.Louis and having a previous reservation at another hotel that was not a safe environment at all. We were so happy to finally get to the Cheshire. The staff was friendly and professional. There was a nice aura to the place that made us feel safe. We were excited about the themed rooms and the entire hotel was […] nice and in good shape! If we ever go back to St.Louis we will be staying here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect place to relax away from the city"
It was far enough away from the actual city to relax, but close enough where you could drive in 10 minutes to get in the heart of St Louis! Great Price, and WONDERFUL place to stay! Loved how homey it was!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so clean room, weird shower, hot room."
The room wasn't bad, but it shouldn't have been better for the price. There was "stuff" on the toilet seat, some nastiness on the wall above the trash can. The shower was just a hand held shower, with a seat in it. The shower floor was even with the rest of the bathroom floor, so when you showered it got half the bathroom floor soaked. The AC worked […] but not very well, it was hot all night. Also the breakfast itself was ok, but there is limited seating by the breakfast area so we sat in the bar area. We got kicked out of there bcs "there might be a manager looking." I explained to the guy that we were almost finished and we would clean up any mess, but still was removed from the table. All in all pretty bad experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great spot to stay in St. Louis"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Justin the front desk clerk was super helpful with all of our requests and being centrally located to Forest Park, the Zoo and easy access all over made this a great spot to stay. We WILL be going back and will recommend people this is worth your time to stay there!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bush Stadium-Grandsons played on field after Cards"
My parents and I enjoyed the whole stay. The staff was very helpful. I enjoyed what small amount of time I got to spend in the facility.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst service ever"
The first room we had was not clean and even had flip flops that were left from someone else. There was hair was under the covers. The second room had a sensor for the bathroom light that would get triggered by the AC every 20 minutes or so so I had to unscrew light bulbs in order to get rest. The Breakfast was awful and unsanitary. They had turkey, […] cheese and ham slices that you had to serve with your hands. The napkins were kept on a dusty windowsill. When we made these complaints when we check out, the front desk said there's nothing they can do about it and to contact hotels.com. I don't normally complain about this stuff online but this place was overpriced and across the board terrible. I'm not sure how they got good rating considering just how bad it was. Should've stayed at a Motel 6. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"We will come back"
Great quick getaway, food, and service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Ok so it's a very cool and unique concept. Interesting. Not like any place I've been. There appeared to be a ventilation issue and redistributing other people's hair in our bathroom. Day #1 upon entrance to room noticed all sorts of hair (not ours) in bathroom, glued to shower walls, etc. I wiped some of them up myself. Day #2 more new hairs appear […] in bathroom (not ours). Not real happy with that. Good have been cleaner for sure. But unique concept of English hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"way over priced"
bathroom was dirty. they charged my credit card even though I purchased through Hotels.com. they said the card was only for incidentals, but charged for the whole room. I had to call and straighten out. Rooms are not very sound proof, we could hear the next rooms way too much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Out of a novel"
The Cheshire feels like you have stepped into the pages of a novel or a Shakespearian work. It has a classic old English feel and look. Accommodations are modern with an antique look. While we were there they were having trouble with the AC which made for a warm stay, but the staff was on the ball and very prompt in responding to the issue (which was […] not in their control). Aside from the pool, the grounds were very kid friendly (even sending the kids on a clue based scavenger hunt with a prize bag of goodies when they completed it). The pool was very nice (cabanas, nice furniture, and complete with a bar), although not much room for kids to play at all. Breakfast was nice. This is our 2nd stay at the Cheshire, and we will return. The charm of the grounds and wonderful staff certainly makes up for any of the shortcomings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old school Euro feel, clean and safe"
Dont ask the front desk for a resurant recommendation. They will recommend their restaurant, even if you have kids! $14 for Mac n cheese. I should have known when they handed my 8 year old an adult menu. Pool is fun. Comp breakfast was goodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Service and unbeatable location"
I am a repeat customer and have always had a great experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was fantastic! Room wasn't quite what we expected for the money though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bed squeaked loud with each move. Woke me and my roommate. I was obviously struggling with luggage, tired, and turned around when I checked in. I asked 3 people for help and all of them vaguely pointed where to go. No one assisted at all. No one helped us load our luggage the next morning. I will never stay with you again and I will probably be going […] through St Louis frequently. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"British delight in the heart of St. Louis"
We were delighted with the Cheshire. We made the reservation due to the convenient in-city location and the price, and were delightfully surprised at the comfort and character of the hotel. The British themed decorations were pleasant and interesting. The room was large and comfortable with little extras that you would expect in a more expensive hotel. […] The continental breakfast had sausage and egg grabbers. The park was across the street with ample walking and running paths. Nice surprise. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was very nice, The only main complaint I have is parking. They try and get guest to pay $7.00 to park either in lot or garage. They did comp me so we did not have to pay it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was good except for the surprise my wife got when she picked up a towel and discovered a two inch bug. We had a late meal and drinks at Fox and Hounds pub. Good food and great service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rude staff and loud maids"
The check in staff were rude. The maid knocked on my door bright and early (before 8am)...I guess she didn't know someone was in the room. Then she proceeded to bang around in the rooms surrounding mine. Very loud. About an hour later, she opened my door and walked in. Good thing I was in my robe. Not impressed at all. "Close to the zoo and park!"
Enjoyed our stay at the Crescent, both times I have been there it has been a pleasant stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The breakfast was terrible! Stale pastries and bagels. Very noisy. Expect to hear EVERYTHING going on with your neighbor. Location is excellent and the hotel atmosphere is quaint. Would consider this a 3 star not a 4 star hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good me ending"
Wonderful except for the motion detector light in the bathroom. It came on every time the air conditioner came on. I wish there would have been a way to by pass that feature-I would have slept better. Other than that it was a great stay . The Basso restaurant was so delicious. Good selection of craft beers tooGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near Medical Facility"
A great place to stay. The ambiance is pleasantly Old English, however the common areas are somewhat shopworn in appearance (perhaps correcting this would impair the ambiance).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a great stay. The Staff are very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very dirty. No help with valet. Musty smell. Filthiness in bathroom!!! Told we could have a late check out bc we had outpatient appointment with the Children's Hospital. ..then told we would be charged another day if we didn't check out by 11 am. Gave this Hotel a zero if I could.... very bad experience!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice night out"
The Cheshire is back to it's glory. This hotel and restaurant are truly on our best of list.Comparable with the other 5 star hotels in ST. Louis.Staff was great.Chef Hall presents a top rated menu.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Tudor decor is a bit ridiculous, including a full-size stuffed bear. Should improve cleanliness, and general service. However, the included breakfast was excellent, much better than what one would expect - superb pastries, including savory pastry. All in all, I'll stay there again because of the location, and the free wi-fi connection!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location, location, location"
The Cheshire has a quality ambiance, is extremely close to the expressway (although you hear NO traffic), Forest Park (Art Museum, Zoo), great running path and near the Hill. Nice continental breakfast with good coffee, tea selection and fresh fruit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

location was perfect, very close to Wash Univ, which is our purpose of travel, lication couldn't have beem perfect.. away from downtown traffic but close enough to visit. close to most attraction Zoo, Museum , Galleria . hotel staff are excellent, very courteous , helpful and friendly. breakfast was good, although i prefer free hor breakfast, but croissant( […] hot) was good. very clean, although they dont change bedsheets everyday. good aelection of restaurant within the hotel, although the italian place was over priced and food was not that great. you can go somewhere else better for the amount i spend.but the market has giid selection of salad , cheese & to go food. overall a great find and pleasnt surprise of a hotel. "An English lit major's dream"
First, the staff is excellent. Every room is named for a British author. Walking down the corridors provides a survey of 350 years of British literary endeavor. Suites and mini suites playfully comply with their given theme. We stayed in the "Ode on a Grecian Urn" (John Keats) mini suite. Outside the door to the room was a six-foot-tall ceramic vase. […] And so on. I would like to try the James Bond suite. Don't miss the Fox and Hound pub. Like the rest of the property, it's Ye Olde England. Over the top? Decidedly. And charming. Don't miss having one of the drinks based on classic literature. There are fireplaces in public spaces, big chairs with arms ending in carved animal heads, overstuffed furniture, diamond-paned windows, an ATM inside a red call box, and for no obvious reason an eight-foot bear in the lobby not far from a portrait of Queen Victoria. Favorite touch: a triptych of posterized portraits of Queen Elizabeth II in the business center. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Third stay, excellent as usual."
Excellent location with many amenities including fine dining, casual beer and pizza pub to name a few. The highest quality beds and bedding in St Louis. The comfort level is 5 star with quirky Olde English style furnishings. The buffet breakfast is anything but generic with fresh fruits, sliced meats, cheeses and fresh pastries. "Very nice stay"
We loved our stay at the Cheshire. Staff so nice and attentive, very good free breakfast, and the restaurants and bars on property are great. "Good breakfast Interesting Décor, Close to Zoo"
The best part of our stay was the breakfast, a refreshing change from usual hotel offerings. Fresh berries and fruits, warm pastries, cheeses and turkey were some of the offerings. The staff was friendly and attentive. What needed improvement was cleanliness in the bathroom. The room smelled a bit musty and could have been aired out.. I would like to […] see free parking included as part of the stay. Proximity to Forest Park was one of the reasons we chose Cheshire Inn. "Wonderful and cozy"
For all who love a little bit of historic charm (even if fake) it is a wonderful hotel. When you step in, it really feel like a 17th century English country castle elegantly furnished. The rooms naming is a great idea. The only contrast I did not particularly cared about is the modern interior of the rooms and the fact that (at least in our room) the […] door opened directly towards the bed. Although I would prefer a little bit more of a "rustic" room, I loved the bathroom, especially the non existing bathtub. The staff was great, but I would however recommend to do something about breakfast room. It is weird and feels like you are eating in the middle of the hall. All in all I have to say, a wonderful experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great experience all around"
The staff was great and the room felt like home. Great place to stayGenuine Expedia guest review
I liked the very unique atmosphere and "personality" of the hotel for something different. However, maintenance was a bit lacking in our room. The light sensor on the bathroom wasn't working so the light stayed on all night, and the towel rod was coming off the wall a bit (I had to put it back on).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The elevator stopped working and I didn't think the room was very clean... my husband didn't care for the heating system, it got warm and cold, hard to regulate. The restaurant nearby was absolutely wonderful! not sure if part of the hotel...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My favorite hotel in St. Louis!"
I have stayed here many times for business and with family, and it is one of my absolute favorite hotels. Imagine a 600 year old English or German lodge remodeled and transported to St. Louis. Real wood burning fireplaces, lots of wood. Very close to SLU and Wash U., A wonderful little bar inside the hotel, and two excellent restaurants on the property. […] The rooms are all slightly different and the remodeling is very good - very comfortable beds with lot of pillows and the bathrooms are very nice. Watch out for the bed corners, though - they are platform beds and about two inches out from the end of the mattress, so we've all banged out shins several times on the corners.
