It was a great stay. The Staff are very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was very beautifull. I loved the décor. It felt romantic. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good they had a variety of stuff you could get. The only thing negative I have to say is the pool was under construction and we were not told. I will be coming back for sure :)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Charming and comfortable in a great location."
I stayed for 2 nights in May and loved the charming outdoor areas where I could relax and enjoy the weather. The staff was nice, and the room was very stylish and comfortable. I thought it was a good value for what I paid. The pool area wasn't open yet, but it looked awesome and I would definitely go back. You can't beat the location, either, if your […] plans involve going to many different corners of St. Louis. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to zoo"
It was great clean and fun hotel.Would stay again without children ..not for kids..It's a very quaint hotel!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Very dirty. No help with valet. Musty smell. Filthiness in bathroom!!! Told we could have a late check out bc we had outpatient appointment with the Children's Hospital. ..then told we would be charged another day if we didn't check out by 11 am. Gave this Hotel a zero if I could.... very bad experience!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice night out"
The Cheshire is back to it's glory. This hotel and restaurant are truly on our best of list.Comparable with the other 5 star hotels in ST. Louis.Staff was great.Chef Hall presents a top rated menu.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Tudor decor is a bit ridiculous, including a full-size stuffed bear. Should improve cleanliness, and general service. However, the included breakfast was excellent, much better than what one would expect - superb pastries, including savory pastry. All in all, I'll stay there again because of the location, and the free wi-fi connection!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Forest Park"
The location of this hotel is ideal if you are in St Louis to visit the zoo or museums. You can walk to all the Forest Park attractions and you are not far from the Delmar Loop. Unfortunately we had a room that was facing the main road and so the single pane windows did not keep out the street noise. But we weren't in the room during the day and the […] traffic seemed to die down in the later hours. The Wi-Fi was spotty in our room so that was a negative. The breakfast left a little to be desired. If you are there just one night then great, but were sick of the same offerings after four mornings. Fresh fruit was a bonus, but the "hot offering" was a bland pastry. Front desk staff were very friendly and greeted us every time we returned. Parking was not an issue. We had our bikes and wished we had asked for a first floor room to avoid having to take our bikes on the elevator. We prob could have locked them to their bike racks (they do have some cruiser style bikes that you can borrow for the afternoon) but felt better with them in our sights. Room was clean and recently updated. Drive to downtown St Louis was easy and we didn't even have to take the interstate. Less than 15min to downtown even with traffic Overall a charming little hotel with an english style that we would definitely consider again when visiting St Louis. "Location, location, location"
The Cheshire has a quality ambiance, is extremely close to the expressway (although you hear NO traffic), Forest Park (Art Museum, Zoo), great running path and near the Hill. Nice continental breakfast with good coffee, tea selection and fresh fruit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great stay! No complaints. Would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable hotel near Forest Park and Clayton."
Very comfortable, with outdoor protected parking on the site, in addition to valet parking. Lovely period decor on walls and in lobbies. Friendly public spaces.Genuine Expedia guest review
"But we came for the pool"
disappointed not to use the pool but The Restaurant was very good and the rehab on the hotel is very nicely done.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the outside and the lobby of the htel is not an indicator of what the rooms look like. The rooms were quite nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
location was perfect, very close to Wash Univ, which is our purpose of travel, lication couldn't have beem perfect.. away from downtown traffic but close enough to visit. close to most attraction Zoo, Museum , Galleria . hotel staff are excellent, very courteous , helpful and friendly. breakfast was good, although i prefer free hor breakfast, but croissant( […] hot) was good. very clean, although they dont change bedsheets everyday. good aelection of restaurant within the hotel, although the italian place was over priced and food was not that great. you can go somewhere else better for the amount i spend.but the market has giid selection of salad , cheese & to go food. overall a great find and pleasnt surprise of a hotel. "An English lit major's dream"
First, the staff is excellent. Every room is named for a British author. Walking down the corridors provides a survey of 350 years of British literary endeavor. Suites and mini suites playfully comply with their given theme. We stayed in the "Ode on a Grecian Urn" (John Keats) mini suite. Outside the door to the room was a six-foot-tall ceramic vase. […] And so on. I would like to try the James Bond suite. Don't miss the Fox and Hound pub. Like the rest of the property, it's Ye Olde England. Over the top? Decidedly. And charming. Don't miss having one of the drinks based on classic literature. There are fireplaces in public spaces, big chairs with arms ending in carved animal heads, overstuffed furniture, diamond-paned windows, an ATM inside a red call box, and for no obvious reason an eight-foot bear in the lobby not far from a portrait of Queen Victoria. Favorite touch: a triptych of posterized portraits of Queen Elizabeth II in the business center. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Third stay, excellent as usual."
Excellent location with many amenities including fine dining, casual beer and pizza pub to name a few. The highest quality beds and bedding in St Louis. The comfort level is 5 star with quirky Olde English style furnishings. The buffet breakfast is anything but generic with fresh fruits, sliced meats, cheeses and fresh pastries. "Very nice stay"
We loved our stay at the Cheshire. Staff so nice and attentive, very good free breakfast, and the restaurants and bars on property are great. "Good breakfast Interesting Décor, Close to Zoo"
The best part of our stay was the breakfast, a refreshing change from usual hotel offerings. Fresh berries and fruits, warm pastries, cheeses and turkey were some of the offerings. The staff was friendly and attentive. What needed improvement was cleanliness in the bathroom. The room smelled a bit musty and could have been aired out.. I would like to […] see free parking included as part of the stay. Proximity to Forest Park was one of the reasons we chose Cheshire Inn. There are four restaurants in the complex, another convenience. Expedia offered the best rate for our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Son moving to Richmond Heights and we needed place to stay to help with move. Great location, easy to get to and very quaint and comfortable. Didn't have have time to eat in their restaurants but heard they were great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful and cozy"
For all who love a little bit of historic charm (even if fake) it is a wonderful hotel. When you step in, it really feel like a 17th century English country castle elegantly furnished. The rooms naming is a great idea. The only contrast I did not particularly cared about is the modern interior of the rooms and the fact that (at least in our room) the […] door opened directly towards the bed. Although I would prefer a little bit more of a "rustic" room, I loved the bathroom, especially the non existing bathtub. The staff was great, but I would however recommend to do something about breakfast room. It is weird and feels like you are eating in the middle of the hall. All in all I have to say, a wonderful experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great experience all around"
The staff was great and the room felt like home. Great place to stayGenuine Expedia guest review
I liked the very unique atmosphere and "personality" of the hotel for something different. However, maintenance was a bit lacking in our room. The light sensor on the bathroom wasn't working so the light stayed on all night, and the towel rod was coming off the wall a bit (I had to put it back on).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to Washington U"
A nice hotel! Quiet atmosphere! Beautiful room! Very convenient location in Richmond Heights! Great staff!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The elevator stopped working and I didn't think the room was very clean... my husband didn't care for the heating system, it got warm and cold, hard to regulate. The restaurant nearby was absolutely wonderful! not sure if part of the hotel...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My favorite hotel in St. Louis!"
I have stayed here many times for business and with family, and it is one of my absolute favorite hotels. Imagine a 600 year old English or German lodge remodeled and transported to St. Louis. Real wood burning fireplaces, lots of wood. Very close to SLU and Wash U., A wonderful little bar inside the hotel, and two excellent restaurants on the property. […] The rooms are all slightly different and the remodeling is very good - very comfortable beds with lot of pillows and the bathrooms are very nice. Watch out for the bed corners, though - they are platform beds and about two inches out from the end of the mattress, so we've all banged out shins several times on the corners. Very friendly staff. Great Italian at Basso.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Old, dirty, poor breakfast. I think at 150 a night you would get a decent breakfast. Rooms were odd and carpet was wore out. UnimpressedGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Hotel but hard to sleep"
The hotel is very neat, we loved the theme throughout. We however didn't get much sleep as the motion sensor in the bathroom (we have had this installed at our home for several years and love it) kept coming on by itself all throughout the night then the pipes started clanging somewhere around 0300 or so... Overall its a nice hotel with great themes […] and would possibly stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My wife and I had stayed here on our anniversary some 44 years ago and the property was wonderful then and has stayed that way. Interesting decor, clean, right where we wanted it but the outstanding part was the degree of service provided by each staff member we came into contact with.Genuine Expedia guest review
Had problems keeping heat in the room. The automatic therm. was inoperative; kept needing to call maintenance. It was 26 degrees outsideGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Wondeful Step Back in Time..."
The Chershire is totally different...and I do mean different, but only where different counts! In terms of service, cleanliness, attention to detail and all you would want from a 4-Diamond AAA property...you get in spades!!! The staff is amazingly friendly, outgoing and service oriented, the property is clean and has great amenities. So what makes it […] different? This property is a true recreation of an old-world English manor...the only thing missing is the rolling hills and horses...it is wonderfully quirky and would make an amazing excursion for a family visiting St. Louis, history buff or someone wanting something totally off the beaten path. I come to the area every 12 weeks, and this adorable inn! I look forward to staying here and would love to come back with my family. Everything a business traveler would need. "Very quite and clean Hotel, fast check in"
Outstanding place to stay, enjoyed the King size room. Staff was very nice, friendly and fast to help with the check in of the room. Very different theme of hotel but at the same time very comfortable setting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was in town for business and stayed over to see some sights. The Cheshire was very convenient to Forest Park, and the staff was friendly and knowledgable about local restaurants and attractions. the bar was good and had good food; the hotel was clean and comfortable. when all the local attractions were closed due to snow, I was made to feel very welcome […] to relax in common areas and read until I needed to leave for the airport, even thought I had already checked out. Everything about the hotel was great except for the parking. Hotel staff was efficient and friendly. The room was clean. The English authors theme was an interesting touch that made it special. The breakfast was delicious. The only thing that was bad to the point of horrible was the parking. The hotel shared parking with the next door resturant of the […] same name which apparently was very popular because there were no parking spaces to be found. A space finally opened up and the charge was $ 7.00 per night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Unique Hotel"
Cheshire is not far from the Delmar Loop area (includes The Pageant, and lots of cool little bars and restaurants). It's a really neat place - liked the olde english style. Very comfortable lobby - fireplace, overstuffed furniture, stained glass windows and even a giant stuffed and mounted bear in the corner - like being in an old manor house. Cozy […] and inviting pub with fireplace, comfy furniture - great place for a nightcap. Room was clean, stylish (unique combination of antique and modern furniture, modern bath & fixtures) bed was very comfortable, bathroom was very large (and nice!) - everything we needed was in the room. Staff was very polite and efficient. Continental breakfast was more upscale (flaky croissant pastries, meat and cheese tray, fresh fruit) than most - but be sure you're there before 9 am! Fresh coffee and hot tea were always available in the breakfast area. Overall - a great stay & we will definitely return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the Pageant"
We really enjoyed staying at the Cheshire because it was so close to the Pageant. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only complaint I had was that it took too long in the middle of the night for the motion sensor light in the bathroom to turn offGenuine Hotels.com guest review
While it's a very nice hotel, I surprised that there were no electrical outlets on or close to the desk. Also, for a 4 star hotel, the towels should have been larger and robes should have been provided.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great stay here. Hotel has a great feel overall and our room was very nice. Our van was too tall for their parking garage and they quickly made other arrangements for us to park. We were very satisfied with the service. Fox and Hounds Tavern was also great. I would visit again and would recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to work and many sightseeing attractions"
I stayed to avoid a commute in bad weather, but the stay was enjoyable, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, and the choice of four restaurants on-site made a convenience stay a needed break from the routine! I would absolutely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun, Unique Hotel"
We stayed at the hotel for a wedding I attended in St. Louis - I loved the British theme that runs through the whole complex. Our party got snowed in an extra night and even though many staff members couldn't make it to the hotel, the ones that did were extremely gracious. Great restaurants on site and you can't beat having a drink by the fire place […] in the Fox & Hound tavern. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Cheshire Review"
Overall I think it was average 3.5 out of 5.0. The room had large amounts of dust, and the cleaning was sub standard. The hotel front desk and social life was great though. I enjoyed the stay but several things were lacking in the experience at "The Cheshire". The price was was 33% higher than what the rate should have been.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
