"Great hotel in Union Square"
Fantastic value for the money! The facilities, room, bedding, modern bathroom, high end toiletries provided, workout room and free daily wine happy hour... All amazing! Loved this place. A great coffee shop right next door too and can easily walk to great restaurants shopping and BART station.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel , small rooms but nice. Would stay againGenuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our one night stay at the Galleria Park. The common areas and the room were clean and comfortable. The location was good, not too far from Union Square shops and with a nice breakfast/coffee place next store. Our room was comfortable and we slept wonderfully -- the room was nice and dark and there was no noise from the street. Bathroom was […] clean and had all the amenities. Great location for walking to China Town, water front and even North beach. The hotel is very nice, recently renovated bathrooms and comfortable beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"quality room and attentive service"
Loved it. Very green accommodations. Staff was very attentive to customer needs. Will stay again when up in the area. Perhaps the parking costs could be a little lower but didn't park this time. Evening wine and popcorn was a nice touch too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Walking distance to China Town, great shopping and even Pier 39 (although this is more of a commitment). Extremely clean, comfortable beds and upgraded bathroom, albeit on the small side. Wine reception in the evening. Good value for the area. Public parking very close by which cost about half of what the hotel parking cost (this was a weekend). No […] complaints, and definitely recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I read MANY reviews before staying here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Many of the reviews were on point -- great hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms. We had an outside room which was EXTREMELY quiet. I heard a couple ladies on the elevator say the interior rooms were VERY loud. For an old hotel, the bathrooms were recently renovated, so that was […] nice. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but only after night 3. Overall, I will be staying here again -- location is perfect, and right next to the BART station. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a nice, clean hotel that is easy in and out. I like the text feature for front desk and valet. Wine reception was appreciated and overall experience was very good. If you're not used to city noise, I would recommend asking for an interior room to cut down on ambient noise outside. Hotel was quiet otherwise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel is a good location"
We really enjoyed Galleria Park. Very cool decor and good service. Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great stay at this hotel, I will definitely stay here again. The staff was great even came to the rescue when I locked my self out of the room lol. All together I would recommend this place to friends or family.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pleasantly surprised, very nice room. Super small bathroom, but to be expected in SF.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is blocks from Union Square, which is very convenient. There was some noticeable street noise from my room in the evening, but I was still able to sleep fine. I had a single room, which was on the small side, but not bad. I was in town for a marathon, and the hotel had bread, peanut butter, bananas, coffee and water for the marathoners at […] 5:30 am the morning of the race--a nice perk! The front desk held my bag after I checked out, and I was able to use the hotel bathroom to wash up after the race, and the business center to print my boarding pass. "A few things missing"
OK. it was close to what I needed. Took forever for someone to park my car and then took even longer to check in....from the time I pulled up until I got in my room 40 min. Bathroom much smaller that what I am used to in SFO hotels...no bath mat for floor outside shower, no counter place for cosmetics....I just put everything on toilet or floor to get […] ready. Then no coffee pot in the room. I have stayed at St. Francis, Donatello and others for a lot less $$ with more amenities. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Galleria Park Hotel"
I understand that the check-in time was 3PM, I got there early and I told them that I want to wait until there's a room available. I waited at least 2 hours and within that 2 hours wait they have check-in at least 20 guests. I kept checking on them at least 3 times until I was upset. I got to my room and the bathroom window was open with no functioning […] lock, an adult person can comfortably fit through it. The bathroom was super cold. I took a nap as I was tired from my early plane ride and housekeeping decided to open my door to check on the mini bar, I woke up in a panic. I was there for the marathon and not in the mood to go outside, they did not have room service other than breakfast. which was served during breakfast hours only. Response by Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel First off, I would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We believe that feedback is a gift and I truly appreciate you taking the time to gift your feedback to us so that we can improve on our service delivery. I want to truly apologize for the issues that you encountered during your stay with us and I want you to know that your experience is certainly not what we strive for here at the Galleria Park Hotel. While we make every attempt to ensure that all guests receive a truly warm experience, it is apparent that that did not occur in this case and for that I truly apologize. It was a busy day for us and specific rooms have been reserved for guests. It is not an excuse, but I want to explain that making you wait was not intentional. I would like to thank you once again for your feedback and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. James Lim General Manager
"Manager would not work with us"
I would stay again IF it was not the Nike Women's Marathon weekend. This was our second time staying at Galleria. We decided to go back because our first experience was so good - as we were all there for the marathon and they allowed us a late check out. This year, the manager said no, he couldn't do it. While I understand the reasons he gave us, it […] made for a stressful and very inconvenient morning. Most all of the other racers we spoke with said their hotels were honoring late checkouts. Next year, we will select another hotel in Union Square that will guarantee us this. Other than this complaint, the hotel is nice, clean and close to shopping. The front desk staff were pleasant, especially the poor guys that were in charge of all the checked bags that everyone was forced to leave because we were rushed out of our rooms by noon. Response by Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Galleria Park Hotel during your most recent visit to San Francisco during the Nike Women's Marathon. Furthermore, thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your experience. I was disappointed to read that we were not able to extend a late check-out for you and many of our guests that Sunday. Please know that it is never our intention to inconvenience our guests. As you experience last year, we extend late check-outs if occupancy and availability of rooms allow us to do so. Unfortunately that Sunday, we were also sold out and expecting several arrivals. Thus, we needed to turn the rooms and clean them by the check-in time of 3 pm for guests arriving that afternoon. I hope you understand that we did not want to inconvenience guests who were guaranteed check-in time of 3 pm. Again, thank you so much for staying with us again and the feedback you provided. If you are ever traveling back to San Francisco we would welcome the opportunity of having you stay with us at Galleria Park as I guarantee your next experience would be much more favorable. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. James Lim Managing Director
This hotel is in a great location. Step out the front door and you are within walking distance of Union Square, the Ferry Building and Market Street. When I made the reservation I requested a room on a higher floor and an interior room to avoid street noise. They put me on the top floor in an interior room and it was perfect - very quiet. "Small room, big on comfort!"
We stayed 3 nights. Although our room was small it there was plenty of space for all of our stuff, even in the bathroom. Everything was recently renovated and very modern. The staff was very accomodating, especially when one of our bags (of course the one containing our toiletries) didn't arrive with our flight. The location is convenient to Union Square […] and various public transportation. The Embarcadero area is walkable. "Good, Basic, Hotel"
This hotel was close to where I needed to be and while it didn't have a restaurant in the hotel, there were a couple of places to get breakfast nearby. There were a couple of small details that could have been better. The room didn't have a full length mirror, which wasn't a huge problem for me, but I know it is for some. And when I went to watch TV […] the signal has a bit of static; not enough to make the TV un usable, but it was initially distracting. The free WiFi was 1MBs and it cost about $10 to get what was amusingly called "high speed" 2 MBs; The free WiFi was fine for what I needed, but from what was advertised I expected something else. Overall, a fine place to stay, but you can find better places for about the same price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely hotel in downtown San Francisco"
Me and my husband spent two nights in this lovely hotel in downtown San Francisco during our honeymoon. The staff was great, they arranged for us to get the room as soon as possible considering that we arrived quite early in the morning and they surprised us with chocolates and champagne. The room was quite small and had no view, but it was comfy and […] sweet. They have great bath products. "Great location; nice and clean"

Room 411, the mattress is way too hard.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel I'm sorry that you found our mattress too hard. I appreciate you providing me with the room number. We will look into it to check if we need to replace it. As you know, the firmness or softness of bed mattress is a personal preference. We try our best to provide our guests the most comfortable mattress. Nevertheless, we will check the mattress in 411. Thank you again for staying with us.
"Weekend with friends in SF"
In SF over the weekend with some friends to attend various sporting events. Had stayed at the Galleria Park once before, on business, and liked the hotel overall. Older hotel, nicely redone. Comfotable room and bed. Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly. One of the best hotels in this price range.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful boutique hotel close to Union Square"
The room was immaculate, the staff incredibly warm and accommodating. Great bed, great bathroom. I stayed here a few years ago and I stayed in the same type of room - and I was shocked at how small the room was this go-around. It seemed like a room not big enough for a king sized bed. The gym was very small as well. That said, given the wonderful staff, […] beautiful room, and great location, I would still return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Stayed at the hotel five nights. Hotel staff was very nice. Is in a convenient location. Very clean rooms. Wine served in the lobby every evening. Room was small for two people. Bathroom was nice but small. Street noise was an issue. Bed not very comfortable. Fire alarm went off one evening at 1:30 am. Got dressed and went downstairs to find out it […] was a false alarm. Reservations were made a month in advance when cost of valet parking was $35 per day. When we arrived the cost had gone up to $42 per day. Was told that parking was not prepaid, so it can change. Response by Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your experience at the Galleria. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed our location, the cleanliness of our rooms and the wine hour in the lobby. I'm sorry to hear that you found our bathroom small. Being a historical hotel and in downtown San Francisco, our bathroom is the average size. However, we try to maximize the space by completing a major bathroom renovation recently. With regards to the street noise, it does tend to be noisy due to the urban location of our hotel. However, we are looking into sound proofing all our windows soon to alleviate this problem from affecting our guests' stay. The cost of parking was recently increased and I'm sorry that we were not able to honor the old rate. Our parking costs still remain to be the lowest overnight, valet charge in a hotel in the San Francisco area. We do our very best to remain competitive in parking pricing. I assure you that the $42 charge is still much less than the other hotels in the area. I hope that you consider giving our hotel the second chance the next time you visit San Francisco. Sincerely, James Lim General Manager firstname.lastname@example.org

"Interns for staff program fails"
After checking into our room, which halready had someone else's stuff in it we received a new room. Then we had only 1 key working, so we received a new one, that did not work. Someone from the front desk was to bring us a new one - oh ya, after 25 minutes they still never showed up! Then on our trip we received another key that did NOT work, I'll cut […] to the chase...overall we received 5 keys that did not work! The best part, was the "we couldn't care any less" attitutde by the entire staff about none of the keys working. And my favorite part was the 16-year old snotty attitude of the front desk gal about the key not working when we desperately needed to get into our room because our 9 year old daughter was throwing up! And as you'll notice by all the other review, the internet that is offered for free is as slow as a snail...oh, but don't worry, if you need it to be faster you can always pay their fee for it - really, why bother to offer it for free! The hotel was nice and in a great location, but this hotel should really stop their internship with the staff and hire qualified, hotel experienced people! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small rooms, Lacking Service"
The hotel has been refurbished, but the room was tiny. It was difficult to open the bathroom door due to a smallish chair jammed in the corner. Decor was ok. Service was polite but non existent after that. Doormen never opened the door. The restaurant was closed for renovation but no one told us until we asked. The hotel is in a terrific location, convenient […] to transportation, but I would never book it again. The bathroom is renovated nicely, but it s so small that ther e is no place to unpack your toiletries. They need to add a few shelves. To sum it up, this is overrated. All of the accolades are due to the fresh renovation and convenient location. Also, housekeeping uses a room deodorant in the hallways that is too strong and smells like a cheap hotel. Response by Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel Dear Frank, I am sorry that you did not like the hotel product as well as the lack of service by our door staff. Being a historical hotel, we have several room configurations. With regards to us informing our guests of the renovation, our website mentions it and the reservation confirmation that guests receive has the information about our renovation, including the restaurant being closed. With the hotel being steps away from good restaurants, majority of the time, our guests enjoy the culinary adventure in San Francisco. I would like to invite you back after the restaurant space is renovated and a French Brasserie opens this summer. The restaurant will span two stories and showcase an eclectic mix of vintage design pieces and two bustling bars for a lively dining experience. I apologize again for us not meeting your expectations. Sincerely, James Lim
"Good option for bus. travelers, downtown shoppers"
The bones of this hotel are older and it shows a little (pleasingly so in the hallway staircases that run from the bottom to top of the building and less favorably in the bathroom tile and shower). "You can do better at Marriott"
The biggest drawback for this hotel is the room size. Our room was quite small, for $264.00 per night, and we were told it was one of the larger rooms. This is an old building, that has certainly been refurbished, but it is not up to par with the chain hotels close by. Response by Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel Dear Mr. P., I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. I am very disappointed to hear that we did not meet your expectations as far as the size of your room. Like many San Francisco historical boutique hotels, a few of our rooms are not as large as the average size of our guestrooms. We have other guestrooms that are larger than the room you received when you stayed with us. I am very sorry that our WiFi was intermittently down during your stay with us. It was that day when we were installing additional access points in our hotel and upgrading our bandwidth speed five times faster than before.
