Blooms Hotel - Dublin

Great location, right near Trinity college, centrally located to many incredible sights in Dublin. Located in Temple Bar, perfect for nights out with friends. Wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a quiet stay with family, but if you're for nights (and days) of drinking and adventures this place is perfect. Can't wait to come back!

At first we were worried that the hotel would be noisy as our room was directly across from housekeeping and there were alot of banging doors as they finished up their late afternoon service. We had originally booked a hotel a little bit out of town to save money but I am so glad we changed to here. The staff was super helpful, the location was central to everything and our room was great. We had our do not disturb sign up to stop the maids from coming in, but they still left fresh towels, linens etc at our door...great service! My 24 year old son and I wanted a location that was close to everything. The Blooms Hotel provided that for us. From the moment we walked on the cobbled street to the door we new this was the perfect location. The Temple Bar area was full of entertainment as far as every pub had a live band playing. We decided to use Dublin as a central point to tour ireland and Northern Ireland. 4 of the 6 days we were there we used a local tour company for our day coach trips throughout the South and the North of Ireland. Our pick up point for the tours was just 5 minutes walk from the hotel which made it even more convenient. The other 2 days we had to ourselves and were able to enjoy Dublin itself. A lot to see and do, and within walking distance to almost everything. Originally I had read about the noise traffic in the streets from the room, I heard nothing, even though I had a room facing the side of the hotel overlooking the street. As in previous reviews from other patrons, I have to agree that Breakfast, as good as it is, is a little expensive. The VAT bar in the Hotel is a find. Service is very good as well as the food. We found ourselves eating at the Pub at the hotel quite frequently as the food was exceptional, not to mention the live entertainment. Again, if you want to enjoy yourself in Ireland. The Blooms Hotel is a great and convenient place to stay. The price cannot be beat. Read more

good location but the lack of sound insulation in the rooms is very bad. i was kept awake until 03:30 on 1 night and then awakened by a street cleaner at 06:00hrs. i would not stay again.

This is actually a very nice little hotel tucked in the corner of Temple bar. The rooms aren't very big, though they are fairly modern but if you get a room above Level 5 the WIFI will not reach you really well. Now, where as you are there for Temple Bar and the tourists, the location can't be beat though at about 7am the garbage trucks arrive and all you hear for about an hour is broken glass being smashed into their lorrie. We chose this hotel because of the location. But, that was not worth all the negatives. They do not have any parking so you will have to walk about 2 blocks to park your car. The front desk staff were very slow and not attentive. I was traveling with my husband, we had reserved a room with a full bed. They put us in room with two twin beds. I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2012. This is a non air-conditioned hotel so keep that in mind if you stay here when it is warm. They did provide a fan. You will need to keep the window closed at night since it is so close to the Temple Bar with lots of noise. This hotelis in the middle of Temple Bar room comfortable and decent size but carpeting filthy. Window did not stay open so room warm. Since it is in the middle of Temple Bar there is noise from bars below. We didn't mind because worth it to be so centrally located. Great pub downstairs with live music. Would stay here again.

If you're coming to party, this is a good option as it's right in the center of Temple Bar...Close to all the pubs, tourist center, wax museum & Trinity College. My only real gripe is that the WiFi barely worked in the room. However it was fine in the hotel lobby. Also, no air conditioning, but opening the window did the trick.

Yes, it is older but our room was clean and the location was perfect for walking the downtown area. Parking was a few blocks away and is not free but is discounted and worth it. The problem is Dublin does not have airconditioners so you have to open your window at night to get cool air. The carpet looked like the rooms were used to party type clients, stains everywhere. There was no coffee or water or tea service set anywhere in the room. I had to call and get another hair dryer as the one in the room was not working. Not what I expected for the price but worked for the one night.
