Not a bad hotel for the price. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was decent, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. It's aging a bit and could use a bit of a facelift though.

Stay was ok. Needs some up dating. Room was clean but heat and air unit needs to be dusted better. Got all stopped up due to dust in vent. For a one night stay it was alright

This is my second time at the Hampton Inn Salem. I was very impressed with the first visit and chose to return this year. The Hotel was under a bit of remodelling, but it was barely noticeable. Everything was very clean and tidy. The staff was kind and helpful. I return to Salem anually and will stay at the Hampton Inn every time.

The first issue that I had with my stay was the front desk person when I checked in. I had to wait several minutes for someone to show up at the front desk and when the gentleman did show up he evidently had just come in for his shift and looked at me as he was walking in and asked if that was my BMW in the drive. No greeting, no hello. When I said no it wasn't mine he walked past without another word and went behind the desk to check me in. He was not particularly pleasant during the check in process. Even though I had already paid for my room through Hotels.com he said that he needed to swipe my credit card for incidentals. Much to my surprise he actually charged me again for my room. I noticed the extra charge on my card and I had to call the hotel to get the amout credited to my card and that was done in a reasonable time frame. The only other issue that I had was that the bed was not very comfortable.

We had just an overnight stay at this hotel, but in that short time I realized how nice of a hotel this was. First, the front desk was very nice and... welcoming. Check-in was a breeze. I am normally extremely picky about hotel rooms and their cleanliness, but our room was immaculately clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable, TV was a modern flat-screen and the bathroom was clean with nice complimentary toiletries. Location was right off of 81 and within an easy driving distance to airport, shopping and restaurants. The amenities in the hotel were also well kept. The pool, hot tub and fitness room were well maintained. Before leaving, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It had a large variety of foods to choose from- oatmeal, yogurt parfaits, cereal, waffles, sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, breads, bagels, donuts, muffins, milk and juices. This is my second stay as this hotel and if anything Im even more impressed than I was 1st time around.Despite it being almost a year since my 1st visit I was welcomed like an old friend and the reception staff (Robin in particular) couldnt have been more helpful.I will most definitely be back!

Loved the matresses. Firm, yet soft and comfortable. Great water pressure!! Also, I loved the night light in the bathroom. What a great idea!! Hotel is conveniently located off of I-81 and is very quiet. A breeze getting back on to I-81.

I truly enjoyed the convenience of everything at the hotel and how easy to use everything was. The Jacuzzi and pool were both kept well and it was very relaxing. Keep it up!

Made reservation through Expedia and looking for accomadations for four adults. Was not clear that the extra persons cost would make room more expensive than comparable rooms in the area. The front desk staff were pleasant, not over doing it with the phony "I'm so excited you're here type of greeting", which was great but Sandy was still very nice and friendly and knew the area well. They do have the cookies and coffee out front as other reviews have stated, and the breakfast was nice.
