The room was pretty nice. Good bang for the buck, and the breakfast was incredible - very impressive and significantly better than my colleague's breakfast at Hotel Villa Real. Only complaint was that they gave me two single beds instead of a double -- not big deal for one night's stay, but would have asked to switch if I stayed longer.

We stayed twice at this hotel, once on the way in to Spain, for one night, and then for four nights at the end. Our first room was on an interior stairwell -- not satisfactory, and so we requested that when we returned we wanted an exterior room. The "we'll try" was hopeful but non-committal. We have stayed here before and like the place. Main complaint is "pls stop changing the name of the hotel" Cabs don't recognize the new name; it is still Hotel el Prado. Now yet another new name is threatened! Hotel is fine and location is excellent.

This hotel is in a perfect location and it was wonderfully quiet, which was a nice surprise given all the great restaurants and nightlife nearby. The shower was exceptional - cool design and plenty of water pressure. AC worked great. Tons of good food for breakfast including soy milk! Only note is no full length mirror.

Hotel did everything right except the bed, which was beyond firm- like a rock- with no give or flex. This was not the case with our counterpart's room, who had a softer bed than ours. The location of the hotel was great - close by to the Prado and Thyssen as well as the theatre district. The area appeared safe and there were often cabs available out front when needed. The room was great and large for European standards and even had a balcony. The room was extremely hot though and the thermostat did not appear to work so we often […] slept with the balcony door open. The front desk staff did not speak English well although they had various flags on their names badges to signify they could speak English. On our first day, the woman that checked us in spoke English well however we did not encounter any other staff who could making it very challenging to communicate with regards to storing our bags or issues with our rooms. The room also did not have any information about the hotel itself or area and the internet often did not work. The breakfast was good and was served for a lengthy time (4 hours). The All Seasons Madrid Prado is definitely one of those rare "finds" of a hotel. It has a tremendous location, "5 minutes away from" many of the major sites. I read with interest all of the previous reviews of the hotel, before I considered it; almost too good to be true. We were not disappointed in the least. This is the place to stay in Madrid. Although I am a seasoned traveller, I still had my wallet stolen on the metro heading into the city from the airport, so be very very careful. The police didn't really want to know and weren't at all interested. The hotel is located about 1/4 mile from 2 subway stops which is convenient for getting to and from the […] airport, but you probably won't need the subway while staying at Hotel El Prado - it is walking distance to everything. Walking is definitely the way to see Madrid and the location of the hotel was perfect. Free wifi was nice also, but no coffee makers in the room (coffee was available for sale in the lobby). Great location with good value. The walls are a bit thin--but when I turned on my tv and the neighbors got the hint--they quieted down. nice hotel in a fantastic location. Only problem is that prior guests had obviously smoked in the room (some of whom thought it was ok to put out their cigarettes on the furniture) therefore making it slightly less comfortable. Hotel is located blocks away from the Prado Museum and in walking distance to numerous plazas. There are many restaurants, bars, cervecerias and convenience stores nearby. It was easy to walk to Madrid bus stops, the Anton Martin Metro station, and the Madrid Vision Tour bus stop. Many people walk in the area and feels extremely safe at night right […] up to 3am in the morning. There are a lot of tourists and hostels around. Room service is prompt at 10am so if you sleep in, you'll miss room service. You'll just have to ask for clean towels at the front desk and they'll send it up promptly. On the night before we left, we were informed that the Metro subway workers were on strike and that we might be delayed traveling to the airport. The front desk clerk waved down a taxi for us to get us to the airport. There are fees to use the phones and to call so avoid using the phones if possible. Read more

If you want to be close to where Cervantes lived, a short walk from the Lope de Vega Museum, a stroll from the Prado in one direction, and a stroll from the night-life in the opposite direction, then the Ibis Styles Madrid Prado is your hotel. (But no bidet in the bathroom, nor a bath if they are your essentials).
