I thought the hotel was great. It was was awesome that you provided a shuttle to somewhere if we needed it. That was great. The hotel staff were super friendly. I would totally recommend staying here to anyone. The only reason I gave a 4 on comfort of room was that the bed was a little too soft for me and my bad back but they were comfortable beds. […] And, a 4 on convenience of location because there wasn't really anywhere to walk but with the shuttle service that was not a huge issue. And, a 4 on the surrounding neighborhood as i really didn't see much of the neighborhood. It might be nice to have a column that says, N/A or don't know. Your front desk employee Mrs. Leona I believe her name was, could stand to go back thru hospitality training. She must've fell asleep, or missed those days of class. It was as if she was being bothered by checking me in. During my stay the other hotel staff would say good morning, welcome back, have a good day/evening, all of them, extremely cordial […] and polite. All with the exception of Mrs. Leona. The hotel was housing a large number of volleyball players. Thank goodness they did not keep me up. I did notice that it took the staff awhile to pick up food left outside the rooms. Our entire experience was excellent. The bed, duvet and pillows were so comfy. I meant to ask if I could buy a pillow, but I forgot! I appreciate that the duvet was freshly laundered. I appreciate the location of the elevator. It doesn't make a difference which of the four entrances of the building you park near because the elevators are centrally located. Very nice design. The location was perfect. We attended events at the Rosewood Mansion at Turtle Creek and Old Warsaw Restaurant. Also, hotel is close to Blushington's for make-up application and Blow Out to have hair styled. We also went to the fantastic Dallas Aquarium. All of these were a short distance away. Maybe 15 or so minutes away is PF Chang's Restaurant at the North Park Center Mall and the Triple story/ double decker Walmart/Sam's. The Walmart has an escalator build just for escalator modified carts. "Adjoining Room Request was totally ignored....."
I was very disappointed with the staff. When I made my reservation for 2 rooms I noted to please place the rooms so they were adjoining. I made 2 phone calls ahead of checking in to again bring it to their attention before room assigning began, stopped by the hotel at 9:15am to try to check in (which I knew was to early) was hoping to leave my luggage […] and again remind them of the adjoining room request. Was not able to leave my luggage and was told I could not check in until 3pm and they would do their best to accommodate the adjoining rooms. Since rooms were not assigned yet I do not understand why this simple request was so hard to do. Two of the others in the rooms tried to check in around 12:30pm again reminding them of the room request but were able to leave their luggage. When we all returned that evening to get room keys and finish checking in we were not given adjoining rooms and the desk agent vocalized that we were at least on the same floor and vocalized our last names with the room numbers we were assigned to. OUTLOUD in a crowded lobby. We were again not happy, spoke to the manager the next morning. He offered a free dinner on them. Dinner offer doesn't fix those kind of mistakes. "very clean, but service could have been better"
The room and overall hotel was clean, that to me, is most important. When we first arrived, the woman working behind the desk wouldn't even look at me and my friend when checking in. This immediately made me form negative ideas about the hotel. Our room was always cold. When we first got in the room, the thermostat was set to 65 degrees. It was about […] 95 outside, but the room was pretty unbearable so we turned on the heater :) We were able to keep the a/c off the entire weekend (duration of our stay) and we were comfortable. We weren't in the room much however. I loved the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and lotion because it was Rainkissed Leaves by Bath and Body Works, one of my favorites. The shower had strong water pressure and got very hot. We were so sore from walking and ice skating, we decided to try out the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was not warm. We informed the front desk, they said they would get someone to fix it, but no one ever came. We told the front desk again... still no one. We waited in the swimming pool, which was not warm either, for a little over an hour for someone. My friends and I wanted to go to nightclubs downtown, the hotel was only five minutes (traffic included) from the farthest club we went to downtown. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. A few things about the room needed attention. The Bathroom door handle pulled off when I attempted to open the door from the inside. First time staying in this hotel, and my last. The toiletries were not supplied enough. Sat down to find toilet paper empty. Towels were not enough for 4 people a day no Kleenex. Tea and coffee accommodations were not renewed everyday. Shampoo was not placed out everyday. The door card key was not working properly. The door to exit the building was […] locked by staff and had to go around the entire hotel to get to my car that was parked in the back parking lot. Outlet had something broken in it so only one outlet worked could not plug in my computer. Sheets were not changed everyday because there was a faint red stain on the sheet in my bed and it was there for the 4 day stay. For the money I payed $130.00 a night this is unacceptable service.
