"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

see all hotels in New York"Business Stay Mid April 2012"
I found this hotel to be very pretentious and unfriendly. I stayed 2 nights for business and have stayed at all the premier properties in NYC. I have never stayed in a hotel that treats guests like this one. The amenities (gym, spa, room decor, etc) are truly one of the best in the city but the friendliness of the staff was lacking and almost rude at […] some points. I understand that they are trying to uphold an image of the Upper East Side but I have stayed at other hotels (Plaza Athenee and The Mark) and both were much warmer and had similar amenities. On a side note--Bemelman's Bar is a must do if you are in the area. To conclude, I was more than ready to leave this hotel when I checked out. I was nothing but polite and followed all proper etiquette of high end establishments as well as was dressed professionally and I still received a cold reception. I will be stayed elsewhere when I need to be in this neighborhood from now on. Read more

"great hotel"
Lived up to its reputation for perfection.
"Service excellence in NYC"
If you want true European excellence in service, this is the hotel for you. Unlike the newer, more glitzy 5 Star hotels in NYC, the Carlyle has trained staff that understand the RIGHT way to do things. Understated elegance; it does not shout but whispers perfection. You will not bump into the latest rock star (thankfully). Well behaved canine companions […] are welcome! Read more

"carlyle rosewood"
The staff is very charming, ready to help and listen to you, Almost something normal in the US of A but not in all 5 star. This hotel lives on its glorious past and a unique location but is not really matching a 5 star class category anymore, especially if we compare it with similar ones in the neighboorhood or abroad... Being in UPtown NY requires […] some serious improvement to match with the luxury world of 5 stars. Some people might not notice it but ther are same flows. I would reommend the bar for those who likes Jazz in a rare ambiance (a bit outdated) from another time. Read more
