"worst hotel in my life"
Reviewed by Y of Notre Dame, IN on Jan 3, 2010
I strongly recommend NOT to take on this hotel because of two main reasons. 1) I and my wife was pretty shocked by the unkind hotel staffs. The woman at the front desk was definitely churlish, never say hello to her customers. When checking in, we got very upset by her unprofessional, actually impolite, language (e.g., "what's your name?" "what do you need?" "go ahead" etc). 2) Uncleanness. I don't think we were just unlucky to stay in a dirty room. We came to find a lot of small crimson & yellow stains on the blanket. Moreover, pretty shocked by the dust on the top of TV set and table. Moreover, when we complained about that stains, Sheraton never responded to our request properly. If you're looking for a decent hotel at Chicago, NEVER choose Sheraton.

My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers for 2 nights arriving Christmas day. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about this hotel after reading some of the reviews. However, the reviews were very helpful as we were able to use the feedback to our advantage. We drove an oversized vehicle, so we immediately asked about parking our vehicle ourselves in the outside lot. To do this, we saved approximately $13.00/night. Our room was a little small, but very nice and comfortable. The view was magnificent. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Navy Pier and Michigan Ave. Restaurants and gift shop in the hotel is very pricey. You also have to pay extra to work out in the gym and to use the high speed internet which to me is ridiculous.

My sister, my two daughters and I spent our Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Chicago, and couldn't have been happier with our choice in hotel or its location. We were within a comfort walking distance into the city for shopping, the parade, restaurants, sight-seeing, etc. The hotel was festively decorated for Christmas and was beautiful; our room was comfort and we had all the necessary amenities. The only negative I would have is the $49 per night cost to park, which I thought was exhorbitant.

The restaurant was busy and preferred reservation. So we got a couple of burgers to go, and ate in our room. Also in the hotel description it should say there is a twelve dollar a day fee for the fitness center, that is something I use when I stay somewhere, and did not use because the fee I thought was high.

We only had a couple of complaints. One is that the faucet in the bathroom would not turn completely off. Very annoying especially in the middle of the night. We had to close the door and turn on the TV to not hear it. The parking was very expensive but most hotels in Chicago are. We ordered room service late at night and gave a pretty good tip but found out after looking at the bill that we were charge a hefty deliver fee and service fee. We weren't told that when we placed the order. We don't usually order room service so maybe this is standard. We wouldn't have given that big of a tip had we known. All in all though the hotel was very nice and the staff was too. The location of the hotel is excellent also. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I paid $40 more upgrading to a "water view" room on a high floor. When we checked in and saw that we didnt have a "water view" and our hotel room was on a low floor, i called and requested to be moved and what we had paid for. I was told that the hotel was sold out, there were no other rooms and when i asked about refunding my money that we paid to upgrade, i was told to contact the web service. Additionaly, our room had no bottled water. I called again asking for bottled water as that is what the package included "free bottled water in your room", i was told they would send it right up. Several hours later when we returned, still no water. i called again and was told "the water from the bath faucet is fine and there are glasses in your room to use." Lastly, i was told by Valet parking that parking across from the hotel on the street was ok and that i did not need to fead the metter after midnight, before 6am. When we returned to the hotel around 2am, i had received a $50 ticket. When i went to find the valet gentilmen, he wasnt there and somone else told me that i should have read the sign and not listen to the valet parker. Other than the 3 incidents, rooom, water and parking, the hotel was very nice, in a great location and price was reasonable even though we didnt get the "water view".
