All rooms includeThe bustling heart of Amsterdam, this district attracts hordes of visitors teeming from Centraal Station to Dam Square and its beautiful Nieuwe Kerk (14th-century). The oldest part of town, Oude Zijde, is famous for its Red Light District, but the University and the docks bring a different kind of colour and buzz to the narrow streets. Don’t miss the Oude Kerk, the Amstelkring Museum or the paintings in the Amsterdams Historisch Museum.

My girlfriend and I stayed here hoping that it would live up to our expectations. IT DID. Our future visits to Amsterdam will certainly have to live up to the quality service provided by The Grand. Every little detail or request is adhered to by the hotel staff. Definitely recommending

Very nice hotel. My wife and I spent 3 nights there and had a fantastic time. The room was great, just a standard room, but fully renovated, really nice shower and bathroom. I would definitely stay there again. It has a bit of "The Shining" vibe, big, quiet, etc. The new restaurant is beautiful. The oyster bar, and cocktail bar are awesome, the food in the main dining room needs some tweaking, my wife's soup was really good, my artichoke salad was great the cumin grilled lobster was just overpowered by the cumin, just could not taste the lobster. The Yellowtail tartar was a bit heavy with mayonnaise. All in all you can not go wrong with this place, the staff was really helpful, and the hotel is beautiful. Location is great. Being close to the Red Light was just a non issue so don't worry about that.

Upon arrival we were offered a choice of a renovated modern style room overlooking the canal or a two-storey, classic style appartment overlooking the courtyard and the receptionist showed both - never experienced such outstanding service before - anywhere! The indoor swimming pool was undergoing renovation but again the service was outstanding as the receptionist offered that we could use the pool in another nearby five star hotel. And call the hotel in advance to let them know we were coming.

Worth it for everything, especially the location... Off the big noise, but central. The place itself is beautiful, and the service is excellent; the front desk staff is very helpful and nice, and the housekeeping, quiet and efficient. Would go back...

Spent two nights in Amsterdam with the wife. Things I loved about the Hotel. - Checked in at 6:00am, no problem or extra charge. -Best location in the city -friendly staff -If you need a bike , scooter, cab to airport they will take care of everything and you can just charge your room Bad - can be a little noisy at night due to the location (if you want a quite city this might not be the place for you) - charged a phone call to my credit card and found out 2 days later that the number was taken and used for other calls.

As stated above, the hotel was central and therefore close to many sights. The staff were excellent, especially the concierges; they made our side trips to Keukenhof Gardens and Het Loo most enjoyable. We were upgraded to a suite; the room was nice-but not lavish for a 5 star hotel-and well appointed. A great value overall- you will not be disappointed.

the hotel is located on the heart of the city, within walking distance to red light district, restaurants and shops. we enjoy walking so we didn;t mind walking a longer distance back from the museums to the hotel, stopping at the flower market. the room was one of the recent remodeled ones, very modern and comfortable with a beautiful bathroom (my sister got one of the older rooms and it was not nice). the staff was friendly and helpful, the lobby also modern and chic. the restaurant beautiful and offered a great breakfast- high price.

Although the location and service was excellent, f for a five-star hotel facilities were less than satisfactory and we were not advised of it being under construction when making the reservation. The rooms were tired and old (TV set from twenty years ago). The restaurant used for breakfast and other meals was a cordoned off area with less than adequate food and extremely highly priced (e.g. cold coffee, running out of food and waiting for long periods for replacements at a charge of around 60 Euros per person for a continental breakfast!) The gym was a tiny dark and airless room no one could workout in and no offer was made for access to neighborhood gyms.

Having stayed at Grand Ams before I was thoroughly surprised by the new room decor and super baths. Very upbeat but not sparse with lots of amenities . Baths are amazing with huge Tub w/flatscreed TV recessed in limestone wall with waterproof remote. Hermes products. Room service extra fast. Smiling staff. CAVEAT: Renovations are in progress in the bar and lounge area..Good part ..using the "Marriage Hall" an architectural tour de force of the Dutch Modern school of the turn of the century. Both bar and dining functions are in this space. Bad..can be a bit crowded but the staff is excedingly helpful and accommodating.

I have stayed at this hotel before it is the position of the hotel which is great for dam square. The hotel reception area has had a face lift it now has a modern feel to it when you walk through the revolving door into the reception. It would be nice if they changed the bed linen and head boards from the 1980's look! always a very enjoyable time is spent here. The staff always try there best to help you.
