We enjoyed our recent stay at Coronado Springs. We've never stayed "on property" but really enjoyed the convenience. Our room was near bus stop 2 and there was never a crowd to get on the bus to any park. Also, the food at Pepper Market was surprisingly very good. The cuban pork and the homemade pizzas were fabulous. It was nice to have such a good option once we got back from a long day at the parks. The pool is amazing...

The Coronado while stylish and nicely maintained is poorly designed. If your room is near the lobby/food/shopping your are 1/2 mile form the main pool. If you are near the pool you are a long way from the lobby. It is totally spread out. Bring walking shoes if you go. When checking in, our "cast member" gave us the wrong room number. Trying to correct the mistake with bags was not a "Disney Experience." We purchased Disney tickets at the hotel and was told both passes were on my room key card. It turns out that one was on my wife's card (which we had never given the concierge). This turned into a fiasco that caused us to miss the space shuttle launch because we were in guest services. For me, the only reason to stay at a Disney property would be to take advantage of the free buses to the Disney properties.

Although the hotel is also part of a convention center I found the food available well below par. There was only one sit-down type resturant. The food court available required selection of food from a variety of stations. The food was overdone, dry and tasteless. Hoverever, it was expensive as one would expect from a Disney property. The isolation from other dining opportunities made the situation worse. I would not take a family to this venue.

Room was not bad a little bit of tiddying up would have helped, for got to leave sopa and lotion on two occassions. Food selection is sparse. No type of entertianment at all; I guess that is what Disney is for but besides the park there is nothing at the resort at all... If you are traveling as a family vacation and exclusively attending the parks then this resort is for you.. However if you are on a business trip and want tsoemething to do after the conference then stay away...

Basically this is a hotel for families - not really convention friendly at all (although I attended a convention there, which was the reason for my stay). The food in the banquet rooms was far superior to the food in the restaurants. The hotel and its surroundings are very attractive, but appear like a movie set, not real. All in all, don't go there unless you are desperate to visit Disney World.

Reviewed by Y of Los Angeles on Oct 20, 2009

I was unfortunately there for a very long meeting, so I did not get to enjoy many of the amenities. Nevertheless, the resort is quite large with distinct clusters of residences. I was in the Cabanas. My room opened directly to the walkway about 10 yards from the parking lot on the 1st floor. There is a nice fun-shaped kid friendly pool in the cabanas which was nice for my 1-hour in the sun. There is also a fine-powder sand mini-beach a few yards away between the cabanas and the lake. I wish I had more time to enjoy the mini-beach with it's happy green & white striped hammocks. The gym is in the Casitas section which when walking in the hot humid weather seemed like a far ways away from the Cabanas, but it's probably not that far. The gym was a bit cramped, but ventilation was decent. Fresh towels, alcohol wipes for the machines, and filtered water were freely available. [There's another pool in the Casitas which seemed busier than the one by the Cabanas, but that could just be timing.] Food choices were limited and a bit pricey (IMHO) for what you got. But, the best food deal I found were the kid's meals for about $5 (subject to change, of course). You don't need to be a kid to get it: mac&cheese (or cheese pizza or hot dog) + bag of chips + chocolate chip cookie + fruit slice (orange or cluster of strawberries) + apple juice box (or milk or water). The mac&cheese portion size was perfect--even for an adult! Souvenir shop was very friendly. Buses into Downtown Disney were very convenient. They go all around the resort which we didn't know until after the fact. The concierge sells tickets for all the local attractions which simplifies matters. Everything about this place was about kids & family having fun. I would come back in that context. As a meeting venue, it's set apart from Downtown Disney, so food choices are limited so you're forced to concentrate on the meeting. good and bad.

Because of the discounts that Disney was offering, this was a very good deal for the quality of hotel. Getting free parking also saved us $12/day so that helps as well. One of the things that attracted us to the hotel was the lake/marina. I was disappointed to see that it was "closed for the season". I thought it would be a nice break from the theme parks to spend the day boating/biking and at the pool. It should be disclosed that the marina activities will be closed during your stay prior to booking your reservation.

Now that the kids are on their own - we moved to FL and have tried all the resorts at least once. For the money Coronado Springs has been our favorite. Better even than the Swan and Wilderness Lodge. (Most times of the year it is not as crowded as the others.) This recent stay we were pleasantly surprised to find our King Room recently refurbished. Everything was new! Best of all - the towels were plush, absorbant and - soft! May seem trivial but the towels have always been a sore spot for us at WDW. They just did not seem to get it - now they do!

only issues are it can be a long walk to room from parking lot and elevators are only at the far side of each large building complex. Those with mobility issues need to consider this. Also, food court is semi "self-serve" (pick up your food, but a waiter provides drinks to the table and takes empty plates away) which is different from the other disney hotels in this price range. The prices are higher due to the waiter service.

I have enver been so disappointed with a Disney stay than I was with this hotel. It was disorganized, the front desk told us the wrong room to check in to, no bellman, lots of room at the hotel, yet they placed us on the wing with several student field trips, we were unable to sleep. The beds were uncomfortable but the best piece of all is that there is no cell phone service. The location is great if you are going to the parks and the shuttles are convenient and punctual. The hotel however ruins the entire Disney experience. To say the least it was neither Happy or Magical. I will never return.

I loved the amenities at this hotel. The room had just been renovated and was very tranquil. Only drawback, One of the restaurants makes you stand in line to get in, you sit at a table where the waitress gives your silverware and tells you to go get your food, where you stand in line at stations and get your meal made to order -- PROBLEM: If you don't get the "Meal" you end up paying WAAAAAAY to much for your lunch. Then the waiter expects a tip when you did all the waiting in line. Other restaurant was more conventional, but also a bit pricy for the quality of the food. Otherwise, the hotel is fabulous one pool if you want to be away from the crown and a bigger pool with a water slide, poolside bar, music, play area, etc. Take a stroll around the lake and lay in a hammock. Very nice -- if you don't mind mosquitos (they are in season in june/july)

This was our first stay at a disney hotel - and from other reviews I was afraid this "convention" hotel would not have the Disney charm...this was not the case at all - it was absolutely lovely! Spacious, with an outstanding pool area/ playground for kids. It's spread out - so you never feel cramped or crowded - pretty spanish themed rooms - flat screen tv, big comfy beds, clean..The only recommendation I would have is if you have a car - and are using Disney transport (bus)- drive your car to the bus stop and wait in the air conditioning- since buses are running 25 min apart- and in the FL heat with a toddler - hot hot hot!

Hotel was good except the extremely long hair we found on the side of our shower. Was too long to belong to either of us. We complained to the hotel staff and did get two fast passes at the theme park. Made us wonder about the rest of the cleaning.

This is a true resort. Very nice surroundings, lake, landscaping, pool area, all beautiful! The room (in the ranchos)was quite nice and comfortable, recently renovated. My only complaints would be checking in took too long (had to give all children's names and ages) and the food at the Pepper Market was expensive, and not great, nor was it Mexican. I was hoping for Mexican pastries for breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend this resort.

We thought about saying something to the front desk after seeing the room and it's condition but realized after looking around and seeing the dirty appearance of the front doors of the units around us we'd be getting the same thing (unless they moved us to the better units on the other side of the lake which I doubt they would have done without a price). We thought we'd just make the most of it. The room was old and worn out and could have been cleaned better. Bathroom floors were dirty around the perimeter and had what looked like small pieces of broken glass in a corner. Caulking was coming off around the toilet and tub and a bit dirty/moldy as with the grout in areas. Lay out was basic with a small table and 2 chairs that were clunky and heavy to maneuver around. The hall and stair ways in the complex had the same pieces of litter for 3 days (cup, snack wrappers) and in general looked like it wasn't clean. The other end of the Coronada complex had higher end units that on the outside looked really nice. I can't imagine what those folks were paying to stay there, because it wasn't cheap over in the 'neighborhood' we were in.

Our experience at Coronodo Springs Resort was wonderful with the exception of the food on the property. We tried the food at the Pepper Market a couple of times and the food quality was poor. This was not a big issue for us as we usually took a bus to Downtown Disney where there is a large variety of restaurants to choose from or ate at one of the theme parks. Overall our experience at this hotel was great. The rooms were clean and were cleaned daily. The service at the outside hotel bar was fantastic! The buses ran on a consistant basis to all of the theme parks and Downtown Disney and we never had much of a wait for them. There are several bus stops around the hotel so that you do not have very far to walk to the buses no matter where your room is located.
